+x+x+xFinally a decision on Djokovic. This mob moves at the speed of a thousand snails. Right decision IMO. As much as you want to see the worlds best player in the comp (given he isnt injured) theres just too many question marks on the validity of this documentation and the way he has gone about it. Our rules around Covid will no doubt relax in the not distant future but the emotion of people who have not been able to visit family for funerals, births, weddings etc is still raw and government cannot afford to have the integrity of border security compromised. How is it "in the public interest" to have him deported???... Psychological health???... Physical health???... Bad press???... You cheeky bugger no gonna use our rules against us... Possible shirtless singing at Hillsong???... I put a slybfifty on Alex the Demon and Barty Party multi in June???.... The Hillsong thing reeks of selective policing.

If the average Aust visitor from any country falsified the entry doc they’d be be refused entry and deported. If any Aussie falsified the entry doc while visiting any other country on Earth they’d be refused entry and deported.
And if you want to try The U.S, oh you’d be refused entry and deported all right - after spending 60 days in Bumf*ck Prison.

Without commenting on whether or not the decisions taken to overcome the problems caused by COVID are correct I hope the concept does not become the norm. Imagine if problems with air bags were solved by lowering the standards or when there is a food contamination problem, don't recall the product or take corrective action in the manufacturing process, just lower the standards.

+xFinally a decision on Djokovic. This mob moves at the speed of a thousand snails. I would have made him psint the Harbor Bridge while he waited. On to more serious matters great batting from Head and Green. As an all-rounder, Green looks like the best prospect in ages. Probably the best since Steve and Mark Waugh used to bowl medium pace. Green's bowling is better even if his battung isn't quite in thge Waugh class. His fielding in the gully is also excellent. If Djokovic misses a spot on the Bridge, we should get him to start again. Green can fill in in the tennis, it is any easy game and Green should have a lethal smash.

Hes over that and the only way is up. No problem with his bowling.

Overall we have done a good job, just a bit tardy in sourcing masks, tests and vaccines. This last Omicron phase. I recon we got a few things wrong. But the restrictions they are dropping now are mostly the right decision. There is a risk letting workers return to work early might infect other workers and lead to more people off work. Ideally workplaces should do a RAT when the worker returns. I don't want the unvaccinated singing and dancing as I have a fair idea what that would be like, the only thing worse would be them doing Karaoke.

+x+xWhat's the law???... If it's based on law, I'm cool... And as long as no one is exempt from that law, no one, I'm even cooler... By his own admission his travel docs contained “false information” about travel in the previous 14 days.. Not a mistake or clerical error - FALSE information. Attends a kids clinic in his own capital without revealing he was awaiting results of his to be POSITIVE Covid test. Did a French interview while still in the window. F*** him. Yeah seriously - F*** HIM. Surprised it got this far. Cool with the falsified documents... The rest is irrelevant in a country that is allowing positive people with no symptoms to work...

If we still try to supress the infections, we will have too many people that havent been exposed to covid and we delay a percentage of them that could have moderate or serious reactions to it down the track which could lead to hospitalisations (lets face it, this is the only factor if concern, not deaths) On the other hand, if we maintain levels of infection as has been the case last 2 or 3 days, we can (just like vaccine rollout) infect 80% of the population without much change to the hospitalisations. Eventually (about 2 months) we will have so much auto-immunity that we can overcome future re-infections in similar mild ways and in much quicker time. It will then be no worse than common flu and effect on time off work would be indufferent. Thats my take anyway. Has been since day dot, but its only lately that its getting much traction with senior government officials....

“Mr Djokovic’s presence in Australia may pose a health risk to the Australian community, in that his presence in Australia may foster anti-vaccination sentiment leading to other unvaccinated persons refusing to become vaccinated, other unvaccinated persons being reinforced in their existing view not to become vaccinated, and/or a reduction in the uptake of booster vaccines,”
OK... Sure...

But i certainly think his false visa declarations and any allowance from goverment to stay, would cause the unrest amongst majority of Australians. So on those grounds he has to go. As ive said before, this is less about covid and more to do with lying. The Depp hounds Barnaby and Joyce were probably better looked after than most humans and also posed no threat but had to be deported due to falsification of documents.

Irrespective if there was a conflict in the interpretation of rules at the time. The rules were clarified and he was rejectec entry. Its no different to people who were caught travelling from overseas or even from WA and quarantine rules were changed mid flight. I dont see why people accept it for all those travellers and dont bat an eyelid yet they cry foul for this guy who fekking lied to get in. As Zef said.... he is damn lucky this isnt USA where he could have been jailed.

Good effort with the bat by Scotty Boland and great tactics to send him out.
Good test match every session is vital.
If we can get a 350 lead that should be enough to win it.
Or if the ball starts hooping around under lights, declare...

I've seen Villi beat that tennis player 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, blindfolded, what is all the fuss about?
Lots of Grandads have been in covid lockdown in nursing homes and would love to play a game of tennis on TV ..end age and ability discrimination.

An expert just claimed that being infected with a variant gives 3-6 months immunity against that variant, but a delta infection gives little immunity against Omicron. It seems that there is still a lot we don't know. Just have a simple rule and only let fully vaxed in. For some sports that may mean the sport itself should provide vax to players that can't get it or afford it. The problem with dropping travel restrictions totally is that new variants might emerge, fully vaxed and even boosted might not be a total protection, a previous case of a different variant perhaps even less protection. The silver bullet is a vax that works on all likely variants, people are working on that. IMO we will beat it, but people are impatient and assume that they are bulletproof when in reality the outcome in most cases is a spin of the routette wheel. Young and healthy with Omicron, mostly no problem unless you have a very unlucky, regardless of vax. Vaxxed ditto, unless very bad existing medical problems. IMO delta is still out there somewhere.

Let it RIP looks like a few weeks of partially empty supermarket shelves.
Many had a New Years resolution to lose weight, and a lot of those empty shelves are panic buying.
IMO ScoMo just wanted it over quickly to clear the decks for an early election.
Winning elections is all politicians care about, and ScoMo is particularly bad in that regard.
Appart from his fringe religious views ,the guy stands of nothing, it is all spin, focus groups, hi-vis photo-ops and pork-barreling. Last time around he was up against a guy who's own mother probably thought had a wooden personality.
Making Shorten leader more or less gifted ScoMo an easy win. Next election should be tougher, the electorate isn't as good at forgetting as most pollies hope.

But... If reports are correct... The second cancellation is only about the AV stuff... Which is absolutely ludicrous... I dont disagree. And if it is, it gives his lawyers more of a chance to appeal successfully. P.S what is the punishment the "agent" cops for incorrectly filling out his visa entry card? Whatever the outcome... Someone must be published!!!... I suggest we throw whomever that is to the lions as a warning to others... That person could be the djoker himself! Will ensure Djoker sends you a thank you note when the decision is made about midday ..
