+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+xAccording to the media hacks we might be going to swap Flanno jnr for Sullivan of the Dragons. Flanagan snr is involved at the Dragons, if he is making this swap happen it vastly increases his chances of coaching the Dogs. I say bring it on. Dragons have Hunt. Why would they want a back up on Flanagan's money. Do they think Flanagan will improve their squad more than Sullivan? What does that say about Sullivan? Unfortunately the Dragons are apparently not interested in the swap. Sullivan is a good player, sometimes things are too good to be true. Sullivan has a problem, stuck behind Hunt on a long term contract, I can see why he wants out, he isn't getting any younger. For the same reason as Sullivan wants out, why would Flanagan want to go there? Why would the Dragons want a back up on Flanagan's money? The story sounds like crap to me. I suspect that we are trying to improve our halfback options for the rest of the season. Flanagan is probably getting the same message Naden got, essentially we are happy for you to leave. Sullivan has a long term contract with the Dragons likely on decent money, perhaps too much to pay a guy who occasionally fills in at 14. If our vision is the rest of the season we are short sighted. Our long term vision is probably Hayward who is currently out injured and a bit too young to play NRL this year. Sullivan is to improve the team this year and so we don't need to rush Hayward, or have all our eggs in the one basket. Sullivan seems more likely to make it as an NRL half than Flanagan and probably Wakeham. It is slightly surprising Sullivan hasn't played more halfback in the NRL. Sullivan clearly wants a decent shot at half and I don't blame him. He might be good enough to make it. If we have a situation where Sullivan and Hayward are both good enough then that is a nice problem to have. The fact that Sullivan can also play 14 means we might be able to keep them both. But for the record Flanagan jnr isn't an NRL standard halfback. and I doubt that he ever will be. Your last sentence, given Flanagan's salary, is why I think the story's BS. The story could be BS, it wouldn't be the first time. Regardless the deal is very unlikely to happen. For Flanno the Chooks probably paid some of the first year or two, that makes it more likely he is overpaid for 2023. I am disaapointed that we have him under contract for 2023, not a great signing decision.

The top four coaches Bennett, Bellamy, Hasler and Robinson have not done what Flanagan did. All have had strong rosters and have failed with weaker rosters. Flanagan just got the best out of has beens and never wases 😉 Dude… the Sharks were well over the cap for a significant period… and on performance enhancing substances… Our club has enough trouble with the media without his baggage… and don’t think for a minute those hack grubs at Fux or the terrorcrap will cut us a break behind the first 6 rounds cos he’s currently matey with them.. they’ll turn on him quicker than Villi turned his back on the BDP… Plus his kid is here… that may well cause other internal issues… he’s already started dadsplaining why Kyle has progressed… i don’t have the answer but a coach that was a part of a cheating club and culture isn’t it… And I’d take all four coaches you mention well before FlannoSr despite your assertions they have not done what he has… cos you’re right about that… they either haven’t cheated or haven’t been caught… Not to mention broke the conditions of his NRLol suspension… and form the snippets I’ve heard on Radio is now using his current employers time to publicly and shamelessly apply for the job… I haven’t read through todays posts, but if you’re agreeing with anything Marki has said it is likely your wrong… He spelt "you're" incorrectly. Autocorrect and beer often have an impact… But some people invent words… I think we are all in ‘agreeance’ on this…

The referee should make ALL the onfield decisions and should only call on the bunker if a clear-cut decision cannot be made. The only other time the bunker should be used is in a captains challenge.

+xHaving said that the referees are to incompetent to make a decision on their own. I have volunteered to watch games at a pub, ask the drinkers what they think, and send a text message to the NRL. The fee will be reasonable, and we can't possibly do a worse job.
