+xCan someone please explain to me why in this modern day of LGBTihgfhgg we still call machinery (cars, machines, and in particular ships) as "she" At what point did they go from bring "it" to she? Why she? Why not he? Is it cause they break down? It’ll end up on the cancel list… Soon to be followed by you being accused of cultural appropriation if you eat Mexican or Chinese food…

But we can't let them score too many more. I wonder if it is travel and a short turn around, or maybe they found a great Ackland brewery, the least they can do for us fans is pass on the address.

Warriors in NZ can be tough when you let them start well and they get the majoity of posession. But we were crap, worst performance in a while, I hope that it is a one off.

Not a fan of declaring other locations on the planet as a home game, in this case Bundaberg, then having to get to another country to play, 5 days later. We had the Cowboys on the rack last week and we almost had them beat. You could argue if we played them at our proper home we had the Cowboys beat. On paper we should've beaten the Warriors tonight. Potentially we have given up 4 competition points with poor front office planning.

The NRL treats sides in the bottom of the table poorly.

There’s also the fact that we are reasonably inexperienced combo wise… especially in D… takes time to build trust… If we can get our D right over summer I hold high hopes for next year with the recruits…

Terrible capitulation in the last 10 mins by oir defence made the Warriors look like a Grand Final powerhouse in the ilk of Storm or modern day Penriff.

Tonight’s performance was due to having all our decent props out. No Thommo and no Pangai. We have always struggled against the Warriors because they out muscle us in the forwards. Tonight was no different. Vaughan tried hard but just couldn’t do enough to carry the rest.
We are desperate for decent props.

Sounds like it was a good night to go to the club and miss the game. Don't think I'll bother with a replay.

We are still in the process of building the squad.
I doubt that our 2023 squad will be top 4, I hope we can finish top 8 or close to it.
Props and halfback are the positions I currently think need addressing, but good service from dummy half can change the dynamic of the tesm.
The Roosters are the only top 4 side without a great 9, but they have Teddy.
Averillo isn't yet the finished product, he only played 1 season of fullback in the lower grades, 2-3 more seasons until he peaks.
We shoild be too disheartened by the occasional bad loss.

I think Flanno is improving, not yet enough to change my opinion, but heading in the right direction.

+xI think Flanno is improving, not yet enough to change my opinion, but heading in the right direction. I’m happy to stick with him for next year. If he signs for cheap keep him beyond that. 300k roughly But otherwise we should have cash to sign whoever we want. Plug holes with juniors preferably.

With the salary cap and without a sombrero or fairy Godmother you can't buy them all. Identify, recruit, develop and once they're in your system you have a better chance to retain them. That's where you have to admire Melbourne and Penrith. All their recent Top spine players, Slater, Cronk, Smith X2, Munster, Paypenhausen, Hughes, Cleary, Lauai, Edwards. None bought as established players.

Flanno has done enough to keep himself in this team which is playing for 12th spot. But if we are serious about making top 8 next year he needs to lift even more and offer a secondary option in the halves. He's been good defensively. I don't think he's a premiership winning halfback. In the last 15mins he kicked multiple times and the results were all rubbish. Team had no direction and we simply handed the game to the Warriors. We need to keep our eyes open for a decent half to partner Burton or fast track BBO. I don't think the other reserve half is ready for first grade next year.

Flanno currently our best option… lacking a bit of polish but his D has been strong… Most great halves talk about having getting D right first is most important… will be interesting to see what happens at Dragons and Penrith there may be an experienced 7 or a couple of young ones with plenty of po available in the coming months…

If going good you can extend at any time. 5 years can end with a divorce and a big payout.

Tanah Boyd reserve halfback for the Titians would be a good signing for us.
Good kicking game.
