+x+x+xSteve, this topic has been a football chat obliterator... But too late now... The Japanese people as a whole just don't have a sweet tooth, only a minority there do. For example, they can't stand icing on cakes. The common worldwide confectionary like Kit Kats, Mars Bars etc, are all remade there with much lower sugar & lower sweetness. I'm surprised they prefer sweet chilli to hot chilli, but that's the way it goes. It's not like a sauce is lumps of solid sugar though. They'd hate things like coco pops, fruit loops etc. They hate rice pudding, that's more of a British thing, so I'm sure they'd hate rice bubbles & anything like it. They do have donut shops, but maybe they are kept simple, no icing & not covered in sugar, just filled with whipped cream/no added sugar. They have Starbucks which sell some sweet muffins & rolls. I'm not sure what the standard ice cream is like there but probably much lower sugar than we'd be used to here. They have some radical options in that dept too, from spaghetti popsicles to crocodile ice cream. It'd be all too much for me to last very long over there. I'd be living on bread & fruit. I wouldn't cope with burgers or mystery sausages or anything like that over there. Maybe some soups or rice dishes. If McDonalds had French fries & hot apple pies, maybe that would do for a light snack, but I'd pass on the processed meats, cheese burgers & everything. You are not wrong..... You all lost me at Japanese.... I think you lost a number of people....But......its offseason, not much to talk about. Marki...sometimes I think your mum forgot to tell you an "apple a day keeps the doctor away".....how can I put it less sublety...the secret of feeling good is having a good dump everyday. Many people, myself included like a high fibre breakfast cereal. The Japanese people don't seem to go for breakfast cereal so how the hell would they "feel good"...the drift is not easy to get. I use to have 1 good dump after school each day when I was young (6-18), usually around 4pm every day. Nowadays, the smell of coffee is enough to send me to the can by 9am and I often dump twice or even 3 times a day.... I must be on the opposite side of the "feel good" spectrum.

Kind of echoes what I said...600ml milk was hard to find so seemingly the Japanese should be weak boned race unable to take a decent schite? Next time I go.... and it will be very much sooner rather than later...will take a full box of Uncle Toby's Fibre Plus with me

Actually come to think of it, had we had dumb players like Napa and Evans during the Des era, they probably wouldnt have been smart enough to follow his crap game plans and we probably would have played better! At Manly, Des talks to the players, DCE makes it look like he is listening and then goes out and does everything completely different. They won a premiership ignoring him.

Everyone knows Lichaa needs a good 2019 to have any chance of getting a contract extension. He isn't a walk up start to play 9, nor is he fully out of contention. Like Tolman he is more of a defensive player, both probably need to do more in attack. I do agree 9 is a critical position in the teams attack, and Lichaa needs to improve to be a 9 in the modern game. But current neither Brown or JMK have the fitness and ability to defend well at 9 for 80 mins. if we start JMK at 9, we will move Jackson to prop, otherwise the defence up the middle will be too fragile. Like Lichaa, JMK might overcome those doubts and improve his defence. We might have more cap space to play with for 2020 no neither is a walk up start to be here in 2020. But why constantly bag the players, give them a chance to show what they can do, under a newish coach, playing a new style.

You see, I dont actually judge him on win or lose.....I judge him on performance and how it affects the surrounding players (irrespective of result). Gone are the days where you can simply have an honest toiler at hooker. The modern game requires the hooker to be a playmaker. He is not. I'd be tempted to say he could move to lock or 2nd row, but I figure he will be like Grimaldi who was well maligned for stifling our attack in our last glory period. I'm afraid, there is no position for him in the modern game.
