I still think our middles will be our Achilles heel, especially untill TPJ comes back. Unless they at least hold their own or preferably get on top it won't matter who our half is.

Bellamy was very similar to Des, but when the game changed Bellamy changed.

When our forwards over powered the Storm, Bellamy went for more size.

When the wrestle and block plays were ruled out, Bellamy went for more players with footy instincts and more pace.

I can't name another coach who I think has adapted, not Jack Gibson, Warren Ryan, Robinson, Bennett, .... Perhaps Gould.

Most coaches only have one way, but that might be changing .

For some of the names above, their one way is a very good way.

We are probably a bit stronger in that area this season, but we need TPJ on the paddock.

This was is where I feel Burton's big boot and high bombs can provide us with field position that we won't otherwise get from forwards domination.

There's more than 1 way to skin a cat and if you aren't winning the forward battle, you need either a very good kicking game or the ability to make metres through second phase play or half breaks. Another way is quick PTB and 6 agains/penalties.

Big kicks won't  compensate. PTB six agains/penalties are at the ref's discretion.

I don't know if we are stronger. If we can get a full season out of TPJ and Thompson then maybe. Vaughen was great for us overall and got better as the season went on. He was very consistent and unlike our new additions, is a prop you can bank on. I guess it depends on what kind of output we get from Sutton, Pele and Patolo. We definitely need one of Thompson, Sutton or TPJ to replace the output of Vaughen. 

Tommo picked up an ankle injury at training out of the weekend game.
We are now down 4 props and light on.
Might be a time to move RFM to the middle.

IMO we replaced Vaughan with Sutton and Pele.
Patolo should be better.
Nu Bown a very handy lock off the bench.

Even with a back injury requiring surgery Hughes is straight into the top 30 and I assume replaces Seafood.

We might need another quality prop, Tanner has a good attitude but needs a few seasons in reserve grade and might not be good enough.

Hughes and Pele both 22 years old.
Hughes 111 kg, Pele 132 kg
Pangai 117kg, Patolo 110 kg.

IMO we need 1 possibly 2 bigger bodies in the team, unfortunately 3 of them plus Tommo are currently out injured.

I know nothing about Hughes but he is in the top 30 ahead of Tanner and Morrin, which hopefully is a good sign.

Six months. Takes us through to round 27 of 27. Salary cap relief? Is anyone worthwhile  available? If not can any relief be used to rejig current contracts to pay more this year and open up more space in the future, after all we have to spend it.

I hope we can use his money. We desperately need props. I would happily take NAS or Hargreaves if Melbourne or the Chickens would let them go early. Preferably both.

The team just needs to dig in and fight until we can get some troops baxk.

Best to look at young fring players outside NRL top 30s, minimal money coming for the opportunity.

The NRL rules are wrong, long term injuries should get some concessions.

That’s how I see it. Very inexperienced right edge. Flanno, Preston, Avo and Kiraz. But a lot to prove. It’s where the game could be won or lost 

I see it as worth a shot, RFM, Flanno, Averillo and Kiraz struggled in defence and attack against the Sharks.
Preston is a bit more mobile than RFM, and is a good defender.
RFM can have an impact in the middle, he has the size and energy.
Prior to Tommo getting injured, I might have made this change anyway.
Should it work out, that right edge could be together for many seasons.
We need to do something.
Averillo and Kiraz are wasted when we don't have a good halfback and fullback. We  need more out of Flanno and Perham, just give Averillo early ball and some space to work in.
