Trump Watch:

Just WTF? I'm sure the little mice that turn the little wheels inside his brain get tired the more he speaks because as weird as he starts he gets tremendously weirder the longer he speaks

"Josh, you go to places where they have denser trees, it's more dense. Where the trees are more flammable they don't have forest fires like this, because they maintain. And it was very interesting, I was watching the firemen and they're raking brush, you know the tumbleweed and brush and all the stuff that's growing underneath. It's on fire and they're raking it, working so hard, and they're raking all this stuff. If that was raked in the beginning, there'd be nothing to catch on fire. It's very interesting to see. A lot of the trees, they took tremendous burn at the bottom, but they didn't catch on fire. The bottom is all burnt but they didn't catch on fire because they sucked the water, because they're all wet."

This reminds me of his comment that he said the President of Finland told him "We're a forest nation and we rake the forests". Something that the President of Finland said - "ahhh that's not what I said" and it resulted in a hilarious meme thread on Twitter of Finns out raking forests, even vacuum cleaning them. BTW - "Forest Nation" Does Trump think the Finns are Wood-Elves, or like the Children of the Forest from GoT?

And for the record, the reason heavily forested Finland doesn't have catastrophic forest fires - because they sit on the edge of the Artic circle and those forests have a floor of snow.

Also hilarious a couple of weeks ago when Trump was visiting a burnt out place in California and referred to it three times as "Pleasure" even commented how irionic the name was seeing how badly it was burnt before he was corrected - it's name is "Paradise".

Dumb f***. I could see how he was so easily confused though - Paradise is the name of his  favourite strip club, Pleasure the name of his favourite stripper that works there. Easy to get confused when the little mice get tired.

The stupidity of the man with the mice in his head.

“I want to put to bed that I haven’t asked a release for 2019. To all the members, fans and the little kids out there, I understand my importance to this team and my position as the captain and leader of this club. I will be here in 2019 and can’t wait for the season to start,” Widdop said.

So much for rumours and RL reporting in general
Jimmy Graham is glad he doesn't have to call "Garthhhh" a coont.

Matt Mundine is a 140kg prop or halfback. It's not 140kg of fitness either, so don't expect to see him in first grade. He'll have to work hard at everything for a year or so at least, starting with fitness, to even be considered for first grade again. The attitude to work ethic etc is what led him astray & made him give up for a while, so if he ever wants to play first grade he will have to get busy & put the effort in. It wont happen overnight, that's for sure.

I would like to see an NRL side featuring a 140kg halfback, especially if we were winning...

Well I did see one of the self-proclaimed "in the know" types on Twitter - the bloke who calls himself "Reading The Play" whom I reckon is nothing but a darts thrower (he had Trent Barrett signed sealed and delivered as our coach at one stage).... anyway he said Flanaghan will be sacked before season starts because of the scandal.

I put absolutely zero credibility to it because as I said RTP (a 2SM favourite) just posts a zilliion rumours and then crows about the one he.... EVERYONE... got right as if he got an exclusive or something. The bloke just throws darts at what he reads on Social Media and then claims they're his. He runs at about 10% success rate and those 10% didn't come from him.

But anyway, since then there's been a lot of smoke from elsewhere that Flanaghan is at the centre of The NRL investigation, so I guess we'll just wait and see.

The mind boggled when I heard that too. Prop/2nd-row goes with that kind of weight but I haven't seen a fleet-footed halfback over 100kg before. He's probably carrying his share of pies & Tooheys around the waist, a couple of thunder thighs, double chins etc. Not to worry, what hangs over he can use for mudguards.
Anyway, it all starts with him, if he's made the decision to get the diet & fitness right, plus sticks with it, then good luck to him, I hope it works out well. There's nothing wrong with making a few $'s playing Intrust either, plus the fitness will benefit him in other aspects of life for sure.

I have no animosity toward Klemmer and however good (or bad) he plays at Newcastle, so be it. What I was disappointed with, were his comments regarding the chance to play finals football. To me he left the club because he has no faith in the young crew here and has no respect for Pays coaching ability. This is what I hope bites him on the ar$e. I have already stated that I was not a fan of Napa's, but now that he is a Bulldog, I wish him well and hope that he modifies his defensive style for his sake and ours.

ODF he left for one reason and one reason only ...MONEY...it is like when someone says it ain't the money it's the principal they mean "It's the money". He may try and sugarcoat it or divert things but it is 100% money. I hold him in contempt...and many will know I only considered him a worthy player when he started to pass the ball half way through last season....but I now consider him a lying buffoon.

The thing is Klemmer reneged. It probably was the money but why get upset, it's common thing these days. The NRL is a business and loyalty is rare. As far as Napa joining the Dogs, I follow the team, not a player, so it doesn't make me a fan of his.

No problem with players or clubs wanting to negotiate or renegotiate a deal... But its OK to be pissed with klem or any player that just can't leave it at 'I'm doing the best for my family'.... When the trash talk and contrary comments  starts eg. 'I wanna play finals' 'its about my family, but its a business', its open season....
Napa has managed his transition with dignity and taught klem an off field lesson... Can't wait to see him teach klem an onfield lesson at Suncorp on the NRLs 'fingers crossed and pinch and idea weekend'

dman, what you and steve and probably everyone else in here has said us true, it's quite easy to be pi$$ed off with Klemmer with all the excuses, but it's not going to do anything for us. I think why we are more hurt is that for a player who claims he loves the club, he could have been more up front and honest. If this is the way he wants to treat the club and the fans, that's his loss but I hold no animosity towards him because he just may regret his decision later on.

Tony - Most  so called experts base their prediction for next season on last season.

How things actually turn out can be very different.

If Pay and co have got recruitment and playing style right, we can out perform expectations. Not win the comp but bottom of the 8 or close yo it.

The players need a good start to give them some confidence. We are rebuilding and not out of the woods yet, so we might struggle, time will tell.

Tony, many years ago Rex Mossop was the #1 rugby league personality in Sydney. I don't know if you are old enough to remember him or not but he was a schite tipster. My dad and I would always rejoice when he tipped against the Dogs and on most weeks where there was an element of tightness in the game we were suitably reqarded with a win ...contrary to what the NUMBER 1 LEAGUE PERSONALITY IN SYDNEY would say. So Jack Sprat or what ever his name is a nobody, a nonentity...he should stick to not eating fat. Disregard the ramblings my friend.
