If CC doesn't want to pick Sexton, Ieould try Taaffe at half.
Tracey very good at fullback.

Might sound wierd given lost but i was most impressed in that game.
We defended that period late in first half with our backs against the wall to keep us within 10, and then some lovely smart play to realise we had them strectched on their right side.
Such a shame to relinquish the lead and disappointed with game management in the last 2 sets. Absolutely horrible 2nd last set on their line. Game was lost right there.
But probably more proud after that performance than any other this year including the Titans game

Overall I thought that we were the better side, unforced errors and dumb decisions cost us.

Lot of things seems to go their way .. I agree with people here Hutch needs to shape up or give sexy a chance ..

Hutch has to go and I hope CC can see this. The answer is in front of him.

Its the sort of game (result) that can cost a team a finals spot.
We might look back and rue losing that one. We literally lost it, rather than the Storm won it.
But hope we keep our heads up. Need our leaders to really take control at back ends of games. They cant demand the big bucks and go into hiding.
Can we please offer DCE 1M and be done with it?

We have a clear issue at 7...so I'd be happy with either TTAFFE or 7exy at this stage... 7exy still the front runner for mine at this stage...

I still think Hutch gives us very good stability at 7 and his defence (other than that first try) is top notch but i reckon Taaffe can make more line breaks if he takes on the line like Hutch does. Im disappointed Burton still doesn't take on the line anywhere near what he should as a 5/8th. Hutch shows him up in just about every game in this field. Its just that he hasnt got the pace to make it into a break or half break. Taaffe would a bigger liability in defence. Its a question of whether the attack benefit outweighs the defence liability. Same goes for Sexton.

Interesting to hear the half time chat from CC included the team allowing way to much pressure on Burtos kicks... The main reason for that is clearly our 7 running the ball on the 4th 60-70% of the time to date... Burton is coming along in leaps and bounds considering nothing is happening on the right... Again... I'm sure hutch is a lovely bloke, and great trainee, and very likely a good mentor... But he ain't no 7.... #HDS....

The threat of Burto running or not opens opportunity outside him... Hutchs runs or not open zero opportunity... Running for runnings sake and almost all the time does not mean Hutch has outplayed Burto in this area .. then throwing a dud pass doesn't help either... The only good passes he throws are to Burto...

With our left being so dominant, I don't know why we go right so often and why that so often end up in a player simply running one out. So sets Burton only gets the ball on the 5th to kick. Taffee might be suspect In defence, but his attack on the right side has looked sharp. Out of Sexton and Taaffe I don't know which one is the better option in attack and defence.

Just watched that set of 6 from the dropout again 2.5mins from the end...
I cannot believe we didnt go to our left side for the whole 6 tackles...and cant believe we did 4 Tolman runs in the set.
Seriously, that was beyond ridiculous.
Tackle 1- Kiraz takes the short drop out and is tackled 20m out and 10m.in from sideline...
Tackle 2 - Salmon takes a settler run with no one in support 10m out and just right of posts (should have passed left anyway)
Tackle 3 -Kitty with another settler to right of posts (at this stage im fuming)
Tackle 4 - Mahoney ignores Hutch and Burton on the left and gives it to Crighton at first receiver who throws a rubbish ball that hits the deck and Kiraz forced to die with the ball in nearly the same spot he took the dropout on 1st
Tackle 5 - Curran with the Tolman settler AGAIN. FFS, do we have ANY brains whatsoever? Curran had Hutch right outside him and he didnt soread the ball. Worst decision i have seen him do. That was unforgivable.
Tackle 6 - Hutch takes on the line (maybe could have passed but Burton was well covered), pokes his nose but is tackled, gets a pass away back to Mahoney who has a chance to kick but decides against it and then throws the looping ball which Munster takes.
Poor decision making by Mahoney, Salmon, Critta and Curran in that set. FFS the ball had to get into the hands of Hutch and eventually Burton/Kikau and they couldnt have messed it up more if they tried.

It isn't all Hutch if we get our act together we can beat Newcastle with Hutch at halfback. But I agree that we might score 2 more try's per game with a better half, but the risk is we might concede 2 more. Still we need to try something different just to find out.

Every time... A decent kicking and passing option on the right, like 7exy facilitate greater variety... And importantly give the left more space and time...

At least he runs and straightens the attack and keeps the defence in two minds. This has a hidden advantage in that it gives outside players more freedom as the defence hesitates as the game wears on. You probably dont understand this, as all you see is him getting tackled. Good coaches would spot the benefit and encourage it -especially with a quick PTB.

Yeah the wheels definitely came off in the last 2 minutes of the game. We also briefly lost control in the lead up to the last Storm try. I think that if we play a bit smarter the Storm don't get a chance to score that try. If is a shame because we are doing a lot of great stuff, but are just losing our way at key times. However, this is another reason to change the half back. Hutch was out on the right and should have organised a shift to the left.

+x+x+x+x+x+x+x+xIf CC doesn't want to pick Sexton, Ieould try Taaffe at half. Tracey very good at fullback. Ple th of great efforts across the park... We are on the up if we can keep our heads up at 2-4... Could've been 4-2... Taaffe should be our halfback. Its a no brainer. He can tackle and he has football smarts and he can kick. Tracy was magnificent at FB. Problem solved. Hutch has to go and I hope CC can see this. The answer is in front of him. TTAAFFEE hasnt been poor at FB... But Tracii Guns was great... Xerri very very good the past two weeks, Kiraz and Foxx great, and Critter going nowhere (except maybe back to the left with a different 7)... We have a clear issue at 7...so I'd be happy with either TTAFFE or 7exy at this stage... 7exy still the front runner for mine at this stage... I agree. Taaffe has been good and offers a playmaking option at FB but i was mighty impressed with Tracey at the back in this game that i wouldn't mind seeing Taaffe at 7 at some stage. Hutchs D is likely overrated for oone 6 weeks in... You're right re where is the value points scored vs points saved (a difficult stay to gauge).... Then.. you bag Burto... All your good work posting tonight is undone... Hutch shows him up by running on the 4th???... And 3rd???... and 2nd.???... and even 5th on more than one occassion???... All within 6 rounds???... After you spent years bagging a forward in Tolman running on the 4th????.... Seek professional help... I have my mental health first aid certificate... DM me if you want to talk... Though I'm not qualified to diagnose, yo u clearly have #BDS....
Even if CC doesn't change the half before the bye I hope that he does after the bye. It isn't all Hutch if we get our act together we can beat Newcastle with Hutch at halfback. But I agree that we might score 2 more try's per game with a better half, but the risk is we might concede 2 more. Still we need to try something different just to find out. It will come down to whether CC thinks we lost due to bad luck (missed goalkicks, flukey kick try) or thinks we lost due to poor play from the HB. I would think he puts it down to bad luck.
