It sounds like the Saffie leg-spinner is in for M.Marsh & Handscombe in for Finch. I don't think it'll make any difference to the runs scored, but the extra spin bowling might make a difference. The forecast is 28,31,33,25,25 degrees, with possible rain for the last 3 days. So not really a hot test match & the theory of the pitch drying out & cracking for the spinners after the first day or so doesn't seem likely. Based on the forecast, only guessing, it possibly wont crack at all, maybe just one of those pitches where the ball stays low. Perfect conditions to give the follow on a thought without enforcing it..

I went out to the backyard this morning & found a huge kangaroo there. Not small or medium... I'm lucky I spotted it from a distance because it was a wild one that had made its way into town from the forest, not a tame hand fed one. If I'd wandered up next to it without seeing it or it seeing me I would've been in all sorts of trouble if it turned aggressive. I watched it take off & it was like a horse thumping away along the ground. Better the ground than my head I thought & the claws would've been big & sharp like scimitars as well... By the way, enclosed fences, no problem for it to just jump over like a minor speed bump...

I also miss Darren B talking about what he had or dinner and the latest idiot he had to deal with at work. Anyone know what happened to him? Drove back to Sydney from Port Macquarie yesterday and went past the turn-off to Cundletown which reminded me of Olddog. Finally Wes. I wonder if he's back in the Phillipines or if he's still looking after his mum.

Marki, you been watching pujara today???... Man of the series to be, 2 centuries, about to be three... Playing to the conditions and situation his strike rate is up about 20%... Another brilliant display... If just one of our batsmen could bat time like him we'd be in a better place this series... Possibly up 1-0...

Surely the selection of Labs and reinstatement of hanscomb after a test out should be the final nail in T John's coffin.... Absolute fekking joke of a bowler, and touted to bat at 3!!!!... Hanno should never have been dropped in the current climate though I'm sure hohns&co will be more focused on using our time in the field in melb to justify Marsh's selection as a 'bowling all rounder (cos it suits) as opposed to addressing the fact they picked a useless test batsmen at 6... Would have been just as well off, if not better with finch batting at 6 and bowling his straight spin... Is Sutherland still there?.. If so he needs to fvck right off as of tomorrow, he is the last person that should be allowed to leave on his own terms consider g the last 12 months... You wanted it, and here it is... #hohns&comustgo...

I also think sharks are almost wooden spoon material this year despite a talented roster... This stuff wears you down over time... And its been almost ongoing... Flanagan gone (is obviously a hell of a man manager), no Holmes, gal another year older (though a stalwart), moylan still sketchy (one good game against maloney don't convince me), graham probably looking to find a club to win another prem, SJ is a week to week proposition re output and availability, possible cap consequences still to come..

Marki... Let's say this test is in exactly the same situation as Melbourne come the end of our innings... 200 and plenty odd behind, chance of rain... Are you enforcing the follow on with a view to winning the test, or make the smart move and bat again with a view to winning the test, or at worst play for the draw confirming your place in history as India's greatest captain?... Just figured I'd get an early start on this debate...

Hope you had a great day at the cricket HD, the batting was pretty to watch, a fair track, and a comfortable day weather wise... I call the mock officially over as we didn't lose a wicket today... But just one last promise please... Don't attend days two or three... ;)

Bellamy chose to relinquish his entire forward pack year after year to keep those 3 (in complete contrast to our philosophy I might add) and kept the most successful club of the modern era. Yes, 2 are now gone but give him a chance to prove what else he has up his sleeve before you rubbish him.

His centuries weren't exceptional.....just....the only few that were scored. But you are right in that if we had at least 1 batsmen that could have played to a similar level (as boring as it is) we probably wouldnt lose the series. Pujara has stood out this series but will look a drag elsewhere unless he is coupled with scorers. The brilliance of S Smith is that not only does he score big scores, he can play different tempos. We had a massively weakened batting lineup without our 2 main century makers. Quite frankly.....if they play...we dont lose this series.

Massive difference if Melb was drawn and this was make or break.

But just one last promise please... Don't attend days two or three... ;) I've been to the cricket many times and Australia have had better days. But rest assured that was is my only day at the test 😆 India winning some critical tosses and getting most of the luck, but clearly the better side. It was an exibition of purist test batting a lot of the day was slow as India left or defended the better balls and were sometimes overly defensive and clearly not in a hurry. India did punish any bad balls and looked keen at times to get on top of our spinners. Hazelwood very good, Lyon solid but our other bowlers mixed. Most of all the bowlers looked tired, which is the schedule, india winning some key tosses and India grinding us down. Australia need a few quick wickets early tomorrow to be any chance.

The brilliace of Pujara is his tactical nous and solid defence. I can testify first hand that he isn't brilliant to watch, but he wins matches and makes it very unlikely that India will lose many matches. All great sides have a player like that without him, they are simply brilliant but inconsistent. With him they are very hard to beat. India have other players who can move the scoring along. With Smith the series is closer no doubt. I'm guessing 1 all with the Sydney test deciding. Winning this toss I still think India win the series 2-1 but a difference is they need to move the game along. As much as we miss Smith we will be inconsistent until we have a player like Pujara. Without that player it is all down to Smith everytime. I don't expect Warner back at all, politics, vibe, team cohesion and form, his test race is run. Warner might come back in short form games with very few test players playing.

In my opinion, he will walk back into the team.

This is definitely the f*ckwit generation. Sandra Bullock's Netflix movie "Bird Box" involves her travelling blindfolded with two children to escape some terror which if gazed upon makes them commit suicide (why or wherefore doesn't enter into it). So what is the trend...people blindfolding themselves and attempting to do things whilst blindfolded. They then put it on youtube and other f*ckwits watch it. What is the world coming to. It isn't a bad time passer...the movie that is but anyone who watches someone engaging in this carry on of doing things blindfolded needs to assess their mental health...truly
