Have always said said you don't place your hands on another person, it leads to two things- charges or getting your head bashed in... I wonder what he'd say or how he'd react if some drunk bloke touched his Mrs upper thigh... There are no mitigating circumstances here like there may be with other cases before the court atm....

All I know is that every time I placed my hand on a female thigh, i did it knowing i was already in. Except that one time in Bangkok, where the female was tucked under and while I was once again in.....I realised and was quickly out!

So Marki handed the ball back to the opposition, declared he wasn't technically following on, dismissed himself like a bat out of hell on compassionate grounds whilst spinning himself out, which earned & then technically lost the respect of the other team as a balmy crowd of Bollywood Richies mocked & cheered on before asking for their hats back from the umpire, who just happened to be dman?

Can it be Sweet Caroline or will the NRL hit us with the suspended fine?

+xCorrect! What's wrong with all that? We'll have to call a review to see if there's anything on hot spot or snicko. :)

+xI like zefs idea of making our youngsters play more overseas... Perhaps we could send our curators to pitch school in SA while were at it... And I like HD's idea about Australia A tours too, in fact the more I think about it i think I like it better. Why? Because of the great untapped potential we have in this country that no other has - winter tours. Darwin, Cairns, Townsville a few other places around the joint up there. Winters are mild and dry. I'm sure England, SA, India just about anyone else would jump at the chance to play their A team, U19 teams or whatever other secondary teams you can think of touring around the North playing 4 day games against our 2nds and U19's even States etc. Then there's minnows like Kenya and to a lesser extent The Bangers (who just can't get the games they deserve) they could come, play an official Test or two and also play against Australia A's and maybe even State teams - give them a tour, we'd benefit just as much as they would. If you don;'t want to load up the Test schedule (though I think we coulod give them at least one) I'm sure they'd still love to play against Aus A and States or Academy Sides. We could have a full winter calendar that concentrates on the next rung for us and every other cricket nation on the planet to play 4 day cricket up north there for months - why not use it.

Read in the terrorcrap (at the airport) that players such as labs, Paine etc not selected in the world cup squad will play aus A tour oh England in the lead up to the ashes. A great first step; they'll all need as much exposure to that Duke ball as possible if theyre any hope of being competitive

I think this is slightly miss-leading as some of those players are middle forwards, of guys who can play on a edge. There are 4-5 middle forward positions in a team. And 2-3 edge backrower positions. Most probably the bench is:- 14. Utility/Hooker. 15. Middle 16. Middle 17 Middle/Edge To cover the backs the utility and/or 1-2 of the edge backrowers have to be able to play centre. I admit we can't squeeze everyone in the squad into a 17 man team, that is competition for places and depth to cover injuries, all teams are the same. #BringOn2019.

Im not convinced we have the right balance in the squad HD (still think we are forward heavy and light on backs) but we'll see how this season goes and hopefully we can plug the holes for next year. Come next year, I don't think the coach and board will be able to fall back on the SC excuse. The fans will turn on them and turn hard. It will likely be 3 years without finals and out of finals contention with 6 weeks to go. There will need to be a bloody good masterplan to win over the fans.

Well said, HD. I only posted it as there hasn't been any blue & white news for a while, plus I tried to change topic from Marki's date gone wrong. :)
Anyone can have a guess or make predictions, which is all they've done. Sometimes they have Meaney as first picked fullback, other times he isn't in their 17. All they can really do is post the 29 players minus the handful of development players & invite anyone to make their own guess.
Marki is right, they do have an abundance of back-rowers & could end up struggling in the outside backs at some point. I was surprised last year the club tried to sign a second back-rower from Penrith. Maybe another creative back might've been more handy for the 30th spot in the squad.
Hoppa & Dutchy are fairly durable players, so they might be hard to budge from the 2 first grade centre spots anyway. R.Smith has earned his spot, so there's not much room unless they have bad luck with injuries.

We will most likely use a good 24 players in an average year (high 20's for clubs struck with multiple injuries at same time) so we look thin in the backs. As funny as it may sound I'm actually looking forward to the season. Last few years I was hoping for a delayed start as I knew we were on a hiding to nothing. With Des I was just hoping we would forfeit the season!

I remember around this time of the year for the past 5 years we would all be hoping scientist Des would be coming up with a new game plan to reinvigorate and re-energize the team and fans.
Ha!

Did you mean to post that last year? Despite the fact certain people can't get over him, the blokes been gone for close to a year and a half...

+xThat is he..always gave his all and nothing dirty I remember he made the opening tackle in one of the grand finals. It wasn't a cheap shot but sure busted up the ball carrier. I've been trying to remember who he put the bell-ringer on...might've been Glenn Stewart. Actually, might've been the other way around, Moa could've been the ball carrier & Glenn Stewart got busted up trying to tackle him. Vague memory now...

They gave it to DCE who also played well but IMO and one of my Manly friend's, it should have been Moa. It's also like 2012. Clive Churchill should have gone to Sisa Waqa for single handedly preventing at least 4 of our tries by thwarting cut-out passes. I still cant believe how he stopped us from glory...

Gus Gould just replied to my question.... ‘Where will Dean Pay play CHN at the Dogs considering we have a truckload of backrowers’?
His reply was.... CHN is the best edge backrower at the club!
Interesting to see how Pay uses him

I always thought it was better than the run sideways, surrender & never scoring type of approach...

BloodyNorai say never say never , i still think our best 2019 centres put together is hopoate & harawera neira , i remember last year when harawera neira played there for penrith in the centers he actually went well there ,again we do have plenty of back rowers so hope dean pay dose keep that in mind , i even be happy with that & have jackson, fatalia mariner & martin the backrow, with napa king, sue in the front row i looks more balance in the side from all reports its seems sue will be a starting prop he is killing it @ training
