Looking up the advantage rule on the back of SCDs post and came across this gem...
Voluntary tackle 4. A player in possession shall not deliberately and unnecessarily allow himself to be tackled by voluntarily falling to the ground when not held by an opponent. If a player drops on a loose ball he shall not remain on the ground waiting to be tackled if he has time to regain his feet and continue play

From the glossary FULL TIME - means the end of the game.
There's no reference to normal time btw.
#NRLol...

Bwahahahaha...
Play with foot (e) - When the ball touches the ground it must be heeled (i.e. backwards) by the tackled player.
Change the damn rule book then let it flow!!!...
Also can't find the term "loose carry".. Another ad hoc load of crap to remove accountability from the refs... Its either a knock on or it isn't...
Advantage re penalties is vague at best... Perfect...

+x+xCan just see the likes of bellyache, and Robinson at training laughing their asses off... Already had teams that pushed the envelope... Now they're practicing forward passes and being offside cos they know the NRLol, refs and touch judges are completely spineless, utterly incompetent or a combination of both... Well I did notice a lot of forward passes from the Storm. Letting the flow doesn't mean putting the whistle in your pocket. But we have just had 7 years of Cam Smith managing refs, Storm wrestling the crap out of players including some very dangerous stuff. Coaches who's only try scroing move is a bordline obstruction and more time wasting and nothing plays than a Geoff Boycott innings. Is is years incompetence really worse than those years? Actually, I noticed about 3 from us that were let go. I thought the refs were not very influential at all. The penalty try looked contentious at first but on replay was correct as Chambers had yet grabbed the ball and Hoppa's hand wasnt playing at the ball. The storm tap-on was only marginally forward but called nonetheless. Probably the only decision that may have affected the scoreboard was position of Martin's conversion. Half the time, goalkickers choose to take it wider anyway. It was still a mistake but kick was poor enough to not have a sook. Enough of the ref bashing.

Far out.... 4 English teams in the quarter finals of the Champions League.... One from Holland, one from Italy, and one from Spain and Portugal. That's quite a domination of this comp....

So if Merrin is on his way back to the NRL, Leeds would be after a replacement......
Interesting....
If I was Pay, I’d be offering 1 or 2 names, free up some cap space

Seems to me the coach and board are doing a good job with recruitment and retention so far, so I'm happy to leave it up to them. More so if Jessie Sue has a good game this weekend and erases some of my doubts... Any trades we do between now and June 30 should be like-for-like, replacing a player with a better option for the same position. We still have some potential to add to the pool of development players that can play NRL after June 30. What we can offer good young players is opportunity, Pay has shown he gives young talent a chance, we have a fairly weak NRL squad, so moving to the Dogs might be a chance to play NRL in 2019 for some good young players.

No one was commented much on our playing style, but I'm really enjoying it.
What we are playing is traditional, skill based, team orientated, back-to-basics footy.
I was very happy seeing some of the passing drills in the off season, and I also very happy some of our passing during the game is way better than it has been for at least a decade.
We need this style as we don't have the raw power up the middle to scatter opposition defenders or offload in traffic.
CHN ha a great offload, but is unfortunately the only player that needs do do a bit more work on ball handling.
We are not slick and well drilled yet, 75-85% of the way there that final 15% will make a considerable difference.
We are way better in this area than most other NRL squads, already I can see opposition coaches scheduling more ball work sessions.
It is smart coaching as it makes the most of what we have.
The big test will come when we need to play in the rain, we can still move the ball but need shorter passes, more depth and earlier passes. We also need a few changes of angle and footwork.
The defence has improved since the first few rounds, playing Jacko in the middle is a big part of that, he seems well suited to that role.
It was also great to see players like Tolman and Lichaa have improved, both were good against the Storm. Lichaa needs to back that up and build on it. If he can improve his game, he will become an asset, the ball is in his court.

The spectacle is in fact better for it. But the game is abit like the 80's and 90's where alot of things went through to the keeper. It doesnt matter during regular season games too much as you only play for 2 comp points. But in the finals, you dont want to be on the receiving end of poor officialdom that could end your season for the sake of "letting the game flow" That's the only issue here....

Mark I, how can you even say that the poor decisions from the refs during the regular playing season doesn't matter that much. What if a team misses the finals because the ref "wanted the game to flow" on several occasions during the regular season.

My opinion is that the game flowing makes it more likely that players will decide the outcome.

What if a team misses the finals because the ref "wanted the game to flow" on several occasions during the regular season. Because ODF, it's a matter of what goes around, comes around. Over the course of 25 rounds, the rub of the green should even itself out. But in crunch elimination games, there is no next week for the loser. Its like basketball. The rules state that you cannot contact the player with the ball yet if they policed that you wouldnt have a game at all. So they "let it flow" and only call up fouls if the contact reaches a certain threshold. Makes for a much better game. Hence why NBA is much more viewable than Euro leagues.

Marki...a lot of your posts I an answer "sounds good in theory". Guess what "it sounds good in theory"...actuality is a different thing. Cameron Smith told the referee he was wrong...no mincing of words....10 minutes for dissent? Not likely. Did you hear the way Aidan Tolman spoke after the penalty try? Respect.."sir"..it didn't make any difference. So in actuality you are wrong.
