Henry Perenara man of the match....the chase by Reimis dd not deserve a penalty...the prick was in his way. Perenara has been refereeing reserve grade...you'd never know. CHN in centre next week and Okinbur back to reserves...Holland on wing. That missed opportunity in which JO dropped the ball was poor.

9/10 for effort.
1/10 for smarts.
1/10 for execution.

Attack was smoother earlier.

Keep up the effort other parts of the game can't get worse.

The coach need to rethink sonne of our attack, we need more variety.

Tony, for the team we have, we are doing well. Our young pups had to play souffs and the referee. We never got one fortuitous call and I think both their tries were off poor refereeing. First was a forward pass the second was offside so I am not too concerned. And if anyone thought we played like $hit then souffs were $hittier.

I agree we didn't get the calls.

A souths player lay in the play the ball, touched the ball and bauked our attack.

But the ref didn't cause the dumb options and dropped balls,  but Souths were no better.

Overall considering the penalty count, we matched Souths, but they may have been cruising.

Tolman was outstanding

Jackson got back to what he does best, not there yet, but heading in right direction

CHN is a quality player that isn’t getting enough of the ball his side (which is Coggers side)

Jayden O ball handling and defence are horrendous.... again, didn’t we do catching/passing all off season?

We needed to score when we had numerous sets between 60th-70th minute..... but Lichaa went back to Desball at that time

Sorry again..... Lichaa is a wasted bench spot! RFM off the bench today would’ve been 1000% better for the team & our attack

the similarity between Okunbar and Idris goes beyond just the looks - like Idris he does not have any step or point blank acceleration from a standing start thus requires  momentum and yet he is too often running from a flat start - ineffective if given the ball standing still - his time in the sun maybe limited considering his defensive rush of blood
Corey HN- good again
lewis - sensational  in defence as usual
Coggar - kicks fall just a bit  short or not quite high enough but  improving
ogden - very good

Yep maybe time for Pay to make a few changes. Holland and Okunbor are making most of the mistakes.

I hope Elliott isn't hurt, that was a nasty tackle... his body was twisted in an unnecessary wrestling move IMO.

Okunbor is a bit fitter and a bit tougher than Idris, bit Idris had a bit more skill.

I am not sure why we don't use Okunbor as a decoy on some plays, everyone knows when he is getting the ball and that includes the 6 month old at the game.

We had a bit more variety and ball movement earlier in the season.

But this wasn't a flowing game and we chewed up a lot of energy defending.

I could tell that the refs were whistle happy and likely to be inconsistent in the first 5  minutes.
The 2nd half was really a testament to crap refereeing, but both sides were just as bad as the refs.

Still a chance for us to win a few games many of the other sides are not much better.
But something probably has to be done about Holland / Okunbor.

They booth should of being dropped last week
lets see if our beloved coach leaves them in for
next  game  , i had a hunch it would be

I would still go with my original suggestion, move CHN to the centres, Holland to the bench keep Okunbor one more week.
Holland is ok on the wing, but probably not make the tough yards.
We are better off finding a good young specialist winger with a bit of size or speed.
Still time to improve and get something out of this season.

Holland seemed to have some sort of understanding with Reimis Smith last year but is all at sea with Okunbor. I think he would have passed the ball on a couple of occasions to him but thought he'd only fekk it up

It just seems to be an issue with that combination... so we need to drop/move one of them.

The other idea may be to tesm Okunbor up with Hoppa, we need to try something.

I'm not into Lichaa bashing, but 14 doesn't suit him. I want a 14 who can come on and spark some attack.

I hope reserve grade show something this week, a player is a chance of promotion if they play well.

On top of everything else I hope Meaney and Elliott are ok, more injuries is the last thing we need.

What you say Re decoys is very true.
The best decoys are the ones where the defence is fooled (due to previous knowledge) that a particular player will be receiving the ball....

Therefore, the best decoys would be Tolman near the line or Okunbor from a steaming run.

Okunbor decoy can he used quite effectively on 3rd or 4th tackle anywhere between our own 30m to the opposition 20m. Needs a clever hooker who can read the defence and know when to give him the ball or use him as a decoy. Not convinced we have that yet.

I would have loved to have had Farrah the last couple of years. Would have been good for both the team and next generation of hookers. He is one of the best.

I was a big fasn of Mosby at one stage  he was around the fastest player in the game.

He got some injuries made some mistakes, got dropped and his game has gone backwards.

Worth a punt but not on big money 25% chance he is brilliant and adds a lot to our team, 75% chance he is a dud, but worth the punt.

Meaney and Smith are the only really fast players in our backline, one other player with express pace would add a lot.

Yep....
And Melbourne storm with a significantly changed team is still a force and still a contender.

It's not that these teams haven't shed players in the last few years....its the fact they havent flogged dud players to death. They usually point them within a game or two....

We know the Roosters seem to do it with dodgy means, but you have to admire what they do down in Melbourne...
