It's a cruel game. We've worked so hard for a good lead and then "circumstances" turn against the boys. C'mon Bulldogs.

Good effort so far, but we will need to be good to win this.

We are lacking 2-3 quality forwards.

Great performance tonight.
Really happy with the Lewis-Frawley halves combo.
Showed good mental resolve and picked up vital early points in the second half to shut the game.

Great win 😊

Yep. We may not play finals, but plenty to be proud about. With our best forward and one our halves out we put the Broncos to bed early.

It just goes to show how important a strong kicking game is.
Lewis may have failed to find touch from the halfway penalty but the fact he kicks for distance has helped us gain good field position in his few games of first grade. He grabbers well, and more importantly his chips have enough hang time to allow our backs to contest them.
Just his kicks alone are worth 1 to 2 tries a game.
I'm very excited for this kid. If he keeps it up for another few weeks, he'll be rookie of the year.

They all played well...including Lichaa and Frawley! Lewis and Martin and JJ and BDP fav Kerrod Holland.

Good on 'em...they looked good and even won the penalties.

How much better also is it not having Montoya there on the wing too..... Smith’s carries have been huge & has an Attacking flair about him

JJ interviewed saying how great it was playing with Holland and Smith and that their  enthusiasm was helping his game. Montoya hasn't shown the same form this year.

I enjoyed it. They did really well. A few errors here & there but so did Bris. C'bury covered for theirs a bit better & with more enthusiasm.

I saw this incident when it happened, wasn't sure what happened as the commentators didn't say a word. Elliot lucky he didn't respond in a silly way.

NRL needs to take action on this immediately.
Has happened twice now with Milford doing it to Harawera-Naira only 2 weeks ago and now another bronco does it.

Should be a penalty straight away and a warning from ref or sin bin.

Yeah, they should do something about it. There's no sportsmanship in it. It's just a sleazy grubby act from a repeat offender.
The TV reports haven't mentioned it, but instead they're reporting on a C'bury trainer asking the ref why he doesn't ref fairly, in a way that implies the ref is innocent & the trainer is doing a sleazy grubby act that action must be taken on.

Most people, at least the sane ones, just want to see consistency from all the refs & the right calls per the rules, especially with bunker replays to work with.
What they rule a penalty on one minute, often they don't the next minute, which is wrong.
In their defence, there's some nutter fans around & no ref deserves the drama this guy was put through :

Lewis shows the exuberance of a player playing what's in front of him. Never fill his head with structures Deano, he'd be half the player.

Very, very impressed with Chris Smith too. Can't belive before last night the bloke had 4 NRL games at 4 different clubs? (that's what they said?). Looks a career NRL player to me. Runs hard and direct, tackles with intent. No nonsense.

And very impressed (and have been for weeks now) with the other Smith, my old mate Remis. A weapon. Still don't think he's an NRl winger though, that's because I think he's an NRL center, and potentially a very very good one. We look better when him and Dutchy swap in attack and defense. Never thought I'd say I trust his defense but I did say the reason his defense was so abysmal in his debut was because he couldn't resist leaving his wing, he's much better defending one in and concentrating on marking players rather than protecting sidelines.

Got a Curtis Rona look about him at present - and Rona would've turned into a champion center if he stuck with the game.

McGuire is an absolute grub and has no respect for the game or from the game - players and fans.

The best description of him come out of the NSW Origin camp " He just runs up and we knock him over."

That's why he's full of grub, he's got no game.

He should be cited for the hair pulling AND planting his hand and elbow in Tolman's face (while he was on the ground of course). He needs a month out of the game or drop the no punching rule for a few weeks and let the players sort him out.

The commentators on Fox were singing the praises of LL all night and intimating he may possibly be centre material. The handling last night was excellent and special mention to Danny F. in that area. For Brisbane Milford and Roberts are two of the most overrated players in the game. The times they go missing is phenomenal  and not just for a few minutes. When they do something good the commentators seem to forget about the quiet periods

BN, no one deserves those sort of threats. I know that the refs are not perfect and most do a good job. There is a certain ref though (who has a brother in the bunker but, I won't mention any names) who relishes in giving us a hard time and a swag of unfair calls against us but, still no one should be threatened because if the job they do. I feel sorry for Cecchin but did he have to specifically take a swipe at Bulldogs fans in that article.

I agree on all points, I rated Chris Smith before he got here...

The guy that has really impressed me is Lewis, his kicking game last night was excellent.... I don't remember ever seeing him kick that well in the lower grades...

Lewis, Tolman, R Smith and Holland have made such a big difference, we are almost asking "what would have happened", regardless we don't have the cattle this year... But I've seen enough to conclude that Pay is a better coach than Hasler.

Another guy who has surprised me is Eastwood, I thought he was a spent force and not worth keeping. He is now worth keeping, at the right price.

I am not sure how accurate the report is regarding the Dogs trainer saying something to the ref, but, I believe that the only person to say anything to a ref during the game are the captains and then the coaches after the game. Everyone else should just zip it.

I agree, I think the spark for it all was the grub shots for McGuire on Tolman then the Broncos getting the penalty.
But that kind of thing happens in sport.

The 36 - 22 score line flattered the Broncs. That last pass to Martin was a ripper and totally legit and not forward. The score should have been 42 - 18 but due to our position on the ladder the score line is immaterial, we won...... and won well.

Yeah I took the Dogs at $3.82 and was tempted to throw a lazy 10 on the 13+ but thought better of it with Klem out.
When that pass was incorrectly called forward, I was upset and would have been cursing with Broncos scoring from the scrum but they missed the kick so everyone who had the 13+ was still safe.

Incompetent at best;  Cheating Cummins (in all probability), really spoilt a pure match highlight with that pass decision. If for no other reason, the NRL HAVE to improve the reffing because the refs are ruining the spectacle.  A blind seeing eye dog could have pulled up several legitimate forward passes last night yet Cummins, from back in the defensive line, calls out that one.

It would have been great to see Martin run down the touch line and see how he handled the run to the line but alas ..

McGuire gets 1 week with a plea for the hair pull which is just pathetic. Why didn't they also pull him for the face palm and elbow to Tolman and add another week or two for that.

I really hope over the last few rounds he triggers someone from a team out of the running who's retiring and so don't give a f*** about a 10 min stint in the bin or a few weeks suspension and they just snap and say "McGuire! This is for the game maggot!"

And belt the living sh.t out of him.

I'd like McGuire to call Ian Roberts a .;.. you know what... or tell Gordon Tallis he's too old.

Even with them at 50. Even with them at 50 and one hand tied behind their back. They only ever needed the right anyway.
