Very good signing the Tigers have made with Matterson.... big body with a good footy brain that can cover a heap of positions
Victor Radley and that Cam Murray from Souths are great playing prospects at other clubs.

Rumoured he was going to pawwa. He is an excellent player, glad he stayed . Got a great swerve, quick and good with the ball. Played mostly centre last year but can play fullback and 5/8th.

+x+x+x+xAll the players Des let go are playing finals this/past weekend. Except Woods. He got lucky leaving the dogs a couple of months ago and now playing finals footy. That's not correct... There were heaps of players let go that nobody cares about.... Sometimes it is not all about the players but rather the coaching, Lichaa looked a better player in his last few games. Cook is going well now playing a different style in a different team. Des's opinion on hookers was simple, we can have any hooker we want as long as they play like Matt Balin. Des's style probably works if he gets round pegs for his round holes. Good luck to any Dogs players who have kicked on at other clubs, most of them were nice guys, and I'm disappointed that we let some go. Let some players go was a mistake, as was signing some others, it is early days be we now appear to be making better decisions. I'm excited to see what our new look team can do in 2019, that is a good test of Pay and the new regime. I have already forgotten the name of our ex-coach, and the bloke that claimed he was doing recruiting. Regardless of the accidental mention above :) Oh great... Were singing lichaas praises for playing a couple of good games at the end of the year again... His body shape is enough to let me know he's not interested in being the premier hooker in the comp... If he starts next year fit I'll give him half a chance again... He has a very good body . You are just jealous.

I have read that Corey H-N was not 100% sure he did the right thing by signing with us. I reckon by seasons end 2019 he will be so comfortable he will be glad he came over to the dark side.

For the other the options are:- Hoppa/Lewis/Harper/Montoya/Bergamin/Smith/Corey H-N Hoppa doesn't seem to defend that well at centre. (and might be at fullback) Lewis might be best in the halves. Harper has great potential, but is still young. The other options are fill-ins... You are right, we do need to sign one experienced centre.

Corey knows he is coming off the bench at the Panthers. We seem to be looking to move Jacko to the middle, which should mean someone other than Lichaa at hooker (possibly JMK). Corey will not be happy if he ends up coming of the bench at the dogs, and we miss the semis. But he is likely to be starting, and I give us a good shot at positions 6-8.

Smith could considered as I rate Carr, and Crichton as good wingers. I haven't seen Crichton play centre but the transition from winger to centre isn't overly difficult, the hard part is learning the defensive positioning I imagine.

Smith very much should be considered, more than considered.
Considering he wants to play center and has put in a good claim to being one of the best players on the field for the last 8 games, every game, he thoroughly deserves his shot.
I think he'll be a better center than a winger.
And three years ago, one year ago, 6 months ago, i would've thought I would be the last person pushing for him to have that shot but let me now proudly be first in line saying it.
Let the team sort itself out throughout 2019 sure, but Smith deserves first shot at his preferred spot.
He's earned it.

The last 2-3 times I sae him play I thought he was quite impressive.
