+x+x+x+x+xThe Anderson sticking his nose into things rumours started weeks of not days into the boards tenure... Months before the media chose to run with it as a story as they were getting all out of Elliots swinging schlong as they could... Funnily enough all those rumours were started easily identifiable Dibbies... Even funnier predicted pre election by those same people... Pay may have been inclined to ask Opes for assistance in some matters, why wouldn’t ya???... Remember a Board disagreeing on stuff is normal... If there is a massive split I find I difficult to believe the media won’t identify the factions... If it’s leagues club types causing the problems they deserve the same treatment as their ex footy club board mates... Well my reaction was .... Is that all? I don't doubt Opes can be a pain ... but equally he has a lot of footy experience and knowledge... This is a minor problem that doesn't require whinging to the media. Let's not forget why we are in the mess the Dibbies appointed Des gave him unfettered power, watched juniors and player development get stuff up, reappointed Des, then sacked him shortly after. I am not wedded to the Andersons, but I would not trust the Dibbies to clean the toliets. What about Dman’s toilet? Your front lawn???... Was that you again..... bastard!! It ain’t right to do it on Markis lawn all of the time...

+xAnyone see NRL 360 tonight? Finally someone with half a brain made a decent point about Pay especially after Kunty kept on bashing the Dogs Read “The Dogs weren’t being called a reserve grade side late last year when they won 6 of their last 8 games” Read “Pay’s won only 1 game from 9 this year with the same squad” That shut Kunty up Sometimes it isn't so much the results as how they are obtained.. The club was more than fair to Pay but he needed to come to the party, with an improving side.

I’d want Barrett even less (If humanly possible) if he was not coming immediately...
It’d be equally stupid by both penny’s and us to let it happen... And untenable for Barrett... Couldnt just be another germoulist’s invention could it???...

No drama, if he is he will coming, he will have role in recruitment. CHN we probably spent part of his money on Thompson, or we got him cheap. I don't particularly want Lafai, no way are both players worth the same money.

He certainly isnt on the same Pay bracket as CHN

+x+x+xReserve Grade Fullback - Les Johns. After another injury? That's why he was nicknamed "dandruff" Denis Ward also in Reserves and the great Norm Thomas in number 40. Missed 1968 World Cup with a broken jaw...courtesy Ron Costello in City-Country game so perhaps he sometimes had help. Anyone who saw him play was privileged, I do recall a game against Cronulla in 1968 which we won 32-4...reserve grade that day had both Johns & Kevin Ryan in the team. Must have been his coemback from that jaw injury. Privileged, yes. The most mercurial player I have seen. The tackle on Kevin Yow Yeh at the Sports Ground. Haven't found a video of that. Also at SSG, Balmain (I think) had a goal line drop out. Les caught it on halfway, dropped kick it straight back over the black dot for two points. Denis Ward (Cheso boy) great half back, don't think he had a proper go at the Berries, went to Manly and Pretty sure he ended up playing for Australia. I believe Ward worked for the state government at Wollongong and had trouble getting to training and Ryan wouldn't compromise. Transferred to Manly and magically got transferred to Manly courtesy of Asking. Johns field goal was a beauty although not from halfway. Nothing of Johns but he was spectacular. Was the victim of a number of unsavoury incidents.

I must've flushed Ando out! Chris Anderson has rubbished suggestions he is pulling the strings at Canterbury or will have any undue influence over Dean Pay's replacement, declaring: "I'm certainly not a shadow over any coach's shoulder." The Bulldogs are deep in negotiations to bring Trent Barrett to the club as a replacement for Dean Pay, who stepped down this week after it became evident his contract would not be renewed. So keen are Canterbury officials to land Penrith assistant Barrett that they are prepared to let him see out the current season before commencing a three-year deal.Anderson has a long history with the "family club" as a premiership-winning player and coach. He was also a member of the "reform" ticket, headed by wife and now Canterbury chair Lynne, that swept to power in February 2018. While the man dubbed "Opes" has had no official involvement with the club since stepping down as a director in September last year, it has been rumoured he is calling the shots behind the scenes. Addressing the speculation for the first time, Anderson said he was not orchestrating the coaching changes or otherwise meddling in club affairs. "I'm happy to help the club in any way, but I'm certainly not a shadow over any coach's shoulder," Anderson told the Herald. "I think that's disrespectful to the people who are making decisions; they are doing OK themselves. They've just been through a tough time and I think they have handled it pretty well. They gave Deano every opportunity to be the right bloke. "It's unfortunate that while I'm around, [that insinuation] is always going to rear its head. "I haven't won an argument with my missus in 40 years. "I still talk to people at the club, but there's nothing official. I'm not around the place at all. I really don't know what's going on other than keeping in touch with blokes who are there." Anderson believes the rumours of him being the puppeteer at the club have been generated by his political enemies. "From the sources in the media who are pushing it, it's hard not to think that," he said. "I don't know whether it's the [Ray] Dib camp not wanting me to be part of it, a bit of sour grapes. "It's not a worry to me really. If they want to play those games, they can play those games. To me it's no big deal." Anderson believes Barrett is the person best qualified to take over from Pay, but is adamant they haven't spoken about the job. The pair worked together in 2002 when then-Kangaroos coach Anderson took a squad containing playmaker Barrett on tour. "I like Trent, he's a really good kid," Anderson said. "He's had a bit of experience now. The fact he's done a few years of first-grade coaching means that he knows what the job is about. "It was tough on Deano because he came in as an unknown coach and didn't know himself if he could coach or not. Inheriting a tough team, it was a tough deal for him. "Trent has had that experience now; I think he'd be good for the club. "You learn some tough things when you are a first-grade coach. You need to go through those first two years of finding out how it all works, being confident about your ability and that sort of thing. "It takes a while to figure all that out and he'll be a much better coach for the experience" Should Barrett accept the Bulldogs job, it will signify his return as a head coach after an acrimonious departure from Manly. His tenure was marked by a fallout with club legend Bob Fulton that resulted in the 42-year-old spending his final months at the club on gardening leave. Anderson said Pay had done his best in difficult circumstances, with Barrett well placed to lift the Bulldogs from the bottom of the ladder. "Deano gave the job 100 per cent," Anderson said. "It was a tough job, he'd have learnt a lot from it and I hope this is not the last time he coaches. "That's where Trent has been, he's had this experience and gone away and had a think about it. He will come back with a bit more confidence about his ability to coach. "I haven't spoken to him, but if he comes on board, I'd give him a call. If he wants a little bit of help now and then, I'm there to help him. But I certainly won't interfere."

Two quotes that show while Ando may claim and even believe he's NOT sticking his nose in where it don't belong, show why others think he IS sticking his nose in where it don't belong.

"I don’t think the players need to get involved in board goings on but I will say that leadership starts at the top of places and we need that to filter down," Tolman said.
Anybody still believe there's not issues on the board?
If that's what he's saying... carefully... not hard to figure out what he and the rest of the players are thinking.
Sorry to say - but I'm for The EGM. Let them take sides, put it to a vote. Winner takes all. And I don't care who the winner is. Just somebody win and somebody f*** off.
I wish something would break, because we're running out of time.

Who cares if the Dibbies think or say he IS sticking his nose in.., They have a clear agenda supported by the grubs in the media... Why wouldn’t he talk to people at the club???... What’s wrong with offering to help a new coach if they want some???.,. This is far removed from the line the Dibbies push about being him recruiter, selector, and pseudo coach... And in no way indicates there is a massive split in the FC board... This is the stuff in that article that stood out for me - “From the sources in the media who are pushing it, it’s hard not to think that,” Anderson said. “I don’t know whether it’s the [Ray] Dib camp not wanting me to be part of it, a bit of sour grapes.“
Interestingly Benny Elias has taken time to bag the club today... But of course he’d have no links to any of the Dibbies would he....

I can tell you I care if he's sticking his nose in. I could grudgingly accept it, though disagree with it, if he was still on the board or employed in any way - but he's out so stay out.
Nobody in their job needs free advice, if they want it they'll go seek it. Do you think Barrett's gonna call Ando? And if not, do you want Ando to call Barrett?

Those two quotes, if they don't bother you coming from Ando, would they bother you coming from Ray Dib? Two blokes, both ex-directors, so if one can still talk to people at the club and give the coach a call surely the other can right? Along with every other ex-director and hell why not coach and player and hanger on. The right answer is it should bother you whether it be Ando or Dib or f***in' anybody who's opinion has not been asked for.

Yes I agree, any ex board member or ex staffer have the right to keep in communication with the board, stsff or players, but they have absolutely no rights whatsoever in how the club is now run. The Dibbies had their time in charge and sold us down the toilet. If they hadn't been voted out we would probably been floating somewhere out past Bondi, though there's no guarantee we'll survive the current undermining at the club.

But this whole thing is a storm in a tea cup, nothing is official,I bet he is hardly ever there, and people are free to ignore his advice. The club has always had fairly open communication with ex-players and lots of ex-players talk to each other all the time, I'm sure they all have opinions.. and I'm sure they mostly ignore everyone else's opinions.. If Ando took the last of the chocolate biscuits (which he probably did), that is a bigger news story IMO.

If the Bulldogs let CHN walk especially in a player swap for Lafai then they would have officially lost the plot and will piss me off massively. Honestly CHN you were the one at FAULT! He should be so grateful for the second chance. CHN be a man, get on with your job as Bulldog! Especially you’re my sons favourite player, please don’t disappoint him!

The correct approach is ignore the noise and get on with the job.... We will see if they have an EGM and what the outcome is, I don't anything will change and it it does, it will probably be a big step backwards.. The only way for peace to break out is for loser to accept the outcome, if they do them and their group of support probably walk away from the club for good. EGMs and infighting don't make anything better..,

If we need to forward-load 1 contact slightly to sort out this mess,,, I don't have a problem with that.

+x+x+xAnyway what are they supposed to be whinging about? Well I got no inside knowledge so I can only tell you what I think and then there's what's been said. What I think, is the obvious one - the board's split on the way the club's run and/or the direction it's going. It's obvious because otherwise there wouldn't be a split would there. What's been said revolves around who else but Ando of course. You don't have to know him closely or at all to know he's a fairly abrasive character. And from the time he got on the board there's been those who accuse him of over-stepping his responsibilty's - specifically sticking his nose in football dept business. And you might have heard of some yourself - him doing recruitment stuff (on his own) alledgedly sticking his nose into team selections etc among other football dept things. You could say that all of that, though maybe outside the ballpark, was acceptable when he was on the board. An experienced hand helping out and all that. But he hasn't been on the board for a while now, and has no official position with The Dogs, yet the allegation is that he's still doing all the same stuff as before. Hand in hand with that, so the allegation goes, is that The Andersons (both) see themselves as the rightful and natural heirs to Bullfrog and are running the place like a monarchy with them King and Queen. Now I don't know if any of this is true, I'm not inside the tent. But I can tell you those allegations are coming from inside the tent. IMO Hill is a good operator will keep the sheep in the right paddock as far as possible. Ando being a pest is sort of believable, but I doubt he is doing much damage. I still say for the sake of stability live with it until the next board election, then make the case in the club meeting behind closed doors... not via a whisper campaign in the media.. Signature on a player contract is the CEO, I assume as directed by a majority board decision.... so I don't think the Andersons have the votes on the broad to run the place like a Monarchy.. Team selection is the coach or should be ... DWZ at fullback looked like Pay's pick to me... so I think Pay probably got the team he wanted most weeks ... and we know how that turned out.. For what is is worth Bullfrog had a lot of power, that is why the club ran so well.. and yes he often did things first and asked for permission later. There is a time and place to sort things out professionally, if we want to be professional I agree

And for mine, no there’s nothing wrong with a club great, premiership winning coach and player welcoming a new coach and offering support if needed... Which again is different to sticking the nose in.., Have you been offered box seats if the Dibbies get back in next year???...

No point in hanging on to him if he isn’t interested in making good and acts like we’re at fault... NRL players are usually selfish and entitled.. A lot of that selfishness relates to money... very few are so loyal as to take significantly less money at any club... It is hard when young fans get attached to a player, the cap system doesn't reward loyalty... it is a shame when young kids are let down, or don't understand the motivation. Bottom line the right dollar amount will make CHN rediscover his love for the club, everyone will hold hands an sing, in this case throw some $ at the problem and see what he says... money is the sincerest form of flattery.

So if our team is running last, and going like a busted ar'se.....then i want him to put his 2 cents in. No....actually i want more than his 2 cents. I want him in the ear of the coaching helping him through this bad spot we are in. When the team is riding high, there is no need for him to have a say.

+x+xIf the Bulldogs let CHN walk especially in a player swap for Lafai then they would have officially lost the plot and will piss me off massively. Honestly CHN you were the one at FAULT! He should be so grateful for the second chance. CHN be a man, get on with your job as Bulldog! Especially you’re my sons favourite player, please don’t disappoint him! We might be able to cut a deal, because money probably is the issue... I would like to keep CHN, especially now the NRL has back-flipped. If we need to forward-load 1 contact slightly to sort out this mess,,, I don't have a problem with that. Agreed

And what if his advice is not wanted?
