+x+x+x+x+xWe look good but still lacking the go forward. It is hard having that many six again calls go against us. But good to see the big hits Our props look tiny compared to the Knights.... same in trial against Sharks.
It’s these 6 again calls and simple handling errors allowing Knights back in it Our players have never been able to adapt to gameday variables. With the 6 again, it's clear that we are trying to slow the ruck down, but FFS if you are getting pinged in 6 agains by a lopsided count, you need to fekking adjust and play to the refs timing. I blame Jacko as captain who isnt telling his players to play to the refs calls. No Marki. The Knights ran over the top of us because their forwards were very simply, too big and too strong. That allowed quick play the balls. Every side gets caught out when they lose the forward battle. Nothing to do with Jacko It’s a simple game... Exactly. If we hold the ball and our forwards roll up the sleeves and have a real dig we can turn it around. Still short a prop or two

+xKnights smashed us thru the middle.... only Elliott looked to make some sort of dent on the edges! A lot of work to do up front with David Furner! simple dropped balls led to tries...! my biggest gripe tonight was that we didn’t even look like executing 2nd phase play with offloads nor was there anyone running up in support! Games can swing on a run of posession, one set Knights go 2 6 agians, we wnt backwards from there, dropped balls and bad defensive misses. Last year we defended errors better, but we need to run into match fitness. Some aspects are a worrying, but it is early in the season.

We never looked in the hunt after half time, but if the cvnt in the yellow jersey thinks he's a referee, tell the fvckwit he's dreamin'.

We need enthusiastic and fit bodies that push up in attack and defense even if they dont get the ball. We can have 17 Taulmalolos and still lose games if we continue with this poor line speed.

Our line speed is still absent. I know its Rnd 1 with unfit players and heavy heavy track but the signs werent good. The amount of post-contact metres we concede vs what we gain must be the highest in the league. It's like we are trying to catch eggs and allow the momentum of the runner decelerate into our tackles rather than smash them dead in their tracks. God forbid we bend then backwards. And in attack, we get completely dominated 8 times out of 10. That kind of play will have you in contention for the spoon pretty much every year. Please allow me to say what the usual suspects are thinking... Baz = coach Baz coached manly manly = Des Des’ fault.... Hard to believe not a single six again for us in the first half....

I rarely blame refs but tonight I was more pissed off when he was awarding us 6 agains for no reason in the last 20mins when score was 30-10 then any other time. I'd rather he fekking penalised our guys than 6 again. It would have slowed the game and that player would have to face his teammates and feel embarrassed.

Still short a prop or two That has been a problem for a while, Tommo to come back, but he will not add size. Somehow I think Katoa is part of the problem, he has a nice pass, but we rarely seem to win when he plays, seems to take the wrong option in attack and miss some important tackles, in fact I prefer Lichaa to Katoa. Lichaa could tackle. So JMK/Dietz next week, no other changes unless a player was devastating in reserve grade.

Did he get injured or was T Baz just easing him in with a 20min stint? Renouf I thought could have gotten more game time

At some stage TB will have to decide who starts at hooker and who is benched. JMK might tackle better but Dietz did nothing wrong tonight. His passes were to the chest, he made some good darts and tackled alright. He'd be my first choice hooker - hands down. And I'm rarely wrong with these things.

Teams can have all the signings and sponsorship but it will not guarantee 2 comp points every week . Hopefully Thommo can do a Graham when he gets back .

+xTelling... Gutho injured trying to save a try... not one player comes over to check on him... Xavier Coates is a very acrobatic winger but that try was a perfect example of him overdoing the dive. He would have made the tryline either way but chose to over flip his body or allow his centre of gravity to flip over and the resulting collision with Gutho made him land and skid on the side of his head and result in a neck injury. Completely unnecessary and putting himself in a risky position.

Home crowd advantage will play a huge part in teams making the finals this year. Refs just can’t help showing bias.

In our game penalties 5-0 against. 6 agains 5-0 against until the game is over in the last 15 or 20 minutes. We're supposed to believe that the Knights all of a sudden changed their behavior at the tackle for the worse and we changed ours for the better. 5-3 looks better on the stats than 5-0. Having said that we didn't play very well
