+xWatching Latrell play tonight and the other games this year really annoys me. We decided to pull out of the race to sign him because apparently we thought he was a centre not a fullback. He just might win the Dally M medal for fullback of the year. It shows why you sign the best whenever possible.
Brandon Smith needs to be signed. Yes he is a better middle than a hooker currently. But he has the potential to still be one of the best hookers in the game. The best particularly when they are high profile also cost big money. So the club needs to get value for money, ensure that the player is a good fit for the club and we are spendingly the SC wisely. Sometimes it is better to sign 1-2 quailty players in key positions and 5-6 average players. We then need to fill 3-4 positions with lower priced players, some of which may be young or below average. IMO yound and unproven is always better than below average. With Latrell Bennett is a master of motivation, Latrell had to get fit to make it at fullback he might not have done that at another club. It is also the case the Anthony Mundine has a long standing grudge against our club calling us out as racist a few times over the years. So there is a risk Mundine would get messed up in any relationship we had with Latrell. So while Latrell is a great talent, he would have been a high risk signing for us.

In a top side... with one of the best man managers ever... You could tell he was in for a big year with the attitude he brought to the all stars game... I just don’t know if we’d have got the best out of him with our squad and coach... Just his trimmed down appearance was a sign he put in the work in off season and was primed for a big year. But being Latrell, it won't be long before something triggers and he loses form again. I just put my house on him being Dally M... Is the address Belmore Park, next to Central Station, handy, to shops, transport and the CBD? Location, location, location.

So there is a risk Mundine would get messed up in any relationship we had with Latrell. So while Latrell is a great talent, he would have been a high risk signing for us. The key benefit with Latrell is that he injects himself into the game and sets up tries or breaks. It relieves the pressure on his halves and hooker and provides that extra option. Cory Allen hasn't developed that as yet, and we probably need that attribute more than Souths do. The pricetag on Latrell at the time was justified only on the basis of him playing like he is right now. But it was difficult to see it happening. Abit of egg on our face now, but I'd rather spend the big bucks on players that consistently play at high level rather than hope you get them at their peak. Good luck to him.

I really hope Joe Stimson can fire up today and prove why we signed him in the first place.
This guy could have had a premiership ring had he stayed at the Storm last year but came to us to play regular first grade. I know he was injured for most of last year, but didn't look like even deserving a spot in our team in the games he played.
He needs to fire up coz he is playing under a new coach and needs to get into Barretts good books. His handy ball skills need to be seen today.

Looks like Keary’s gone for the season and that’ll be Easts too.
Feel sorry for Keary but Easts can suck it.

even before Keary’s injury I thought Easts were on the slide, Souths really exposed them last season and so did the finals and they’re weaker this year. Weakest of the “big 6” prior to last night. Might be lucky to make the eight now.
Good.

The chooks might rue the decision of dumping Flanno. Their loss is our gain.

They have firepower all over the park and just need a set of halves that get a pass mark and they'll be easily in the top 6. Losing Flanagan will certainly hurt them now tho...

The last time we played the Broncos, TPJ tore us a new one.... who’s marking up on him today?
We keep him quiet, then we win the game

We have been in their 20m on numerous occasions and our last tackle play has been abysmal. Flanagan and Avo are deers in headlights. Its cringeworthy.

Two minutes on the clock left in the half. We have a scrum on their 20m midfield. The Broncos are already packed in.
Yet we nearly get timed out when it's our fekking scrum with 2 mins on the clock.
Are fekking serious??
Are we?
Barrett should fekking slap every player that was in or suppose to be in that scrum. Smack them like Nathan Brown did to Barrett for far less.

Back to back zero scores is about where we are at.
Not sure if it's ever been done before.

I expect Barrett to tear into his halves - even in the press conference.
He better.

Justified result. As bad as the Broncos are, they are at least trying to win. They are let down by bad mistakes and have a weak roster.
I have no words for us.
I prefer our crappy 2005 and 2008 teams.
