Question needs to be asked to T Baz….. why the heck isn’t Renouf, Ogden or Lewis ain’t playing?


Not so much that we have any chance of winning the bloody game, but to at least be a little more competitive and defensively tighter than the shambles that’s currently unfolding right now…. Anyone called fu#king Katoa should never play 1st grade for the dogs again

Very poor performance all round.

The young guys seem, a bit off the pace,and out of their depth.

Defence very poor, attack lacking punch we need  Atoni.

While it isn't all his fault Flanno isn't playing his way back into the side. 

I expected better...

The way things are going Lewis should even be considered for the centres.

The Flanno, Manu, Katoa combination are turnstiles.

Even Jacko is having a very poor game, something I never expected to say.

Its Turbo Tom that passes forward most of the time. 

Mate, don't  worry about refs or forward passes, just call it for what it is, unacceptable  rubbish. No excuses, no mitigating circumstances.

I have to agree. 
I know its forced due to covid suspension breach and he wants to blood some youngsters but it was very poor decision making by him to not do it in a more standard way with maybe 1 new guy with some experienced guys.

If we were playing a bottom 6 team, fair enough.
But pretty silly if Barrett to feed them to a top 5 wolf

Mdog, I have already called it for what it is. A rubbish game all around. We are garbage, the refereeing is garbage and the sheagles can't pass properly.

I Don't  think we could win with 90% possession. Our attack  is as bad as our defence. Given the options they would have had, Burton & JAC must be ruing their  decision to sign with us.

I cannot wait for the end of the 2021 season so we can reset, let the reggies players go back to where they need to be and those off contract are shown the door. At the moment we are NOT a first grade side.

BBO's debut was the only good thing to come out of the game.

Total crap from most of the team from start to finish.

It happens sometime, but when this side plays crap it is really bad.

I have to say Baz hasn't got team selection, the defence or the attitude right this season.

Team selection is spill over to poor defence and the team's confidence pops like a balloon.

No excuse for that performance, I would make the team stay back after training and watch a replay after every session next week.

I liked what I saw from Naden and Burton last night...and JAC the night before. Players I feel sorry for are Thompson and Hetherington....guts galore but every other team has a monster....in previous years I was a borderline homicidal maniac if the Dogs lose...this year not.... I feel sorry that they have been asked to do the impossible. Renouf must has shat in one of Barrett;s shoes..At leasdt they try unlike Brisbane who simply lie down...the fact we try is going to get us out of the mess...hopefully sooner than later. Whilst thrashed I still can'thelp feel contempt for Sutton

I thought we had hit rock bottom many weeks again but I guess this was it ‘ We are worse then the Jets of the late 70’s and South’s and Parramatta of the 90 ‘s and early 2000’s .. 

I can't   get Trent's coaching effort at Manly out of my mind. Not hopeful  going forward.

I thought that we were building the last 5 weeks, the last 3 games in particular were good.

But this week the edge defense of Flanno, Manu and Katoa was a shambles.

Katoa giving Saab acres of space was only going to end one way, Manu didn't help, not bad running the ball but defence needs a lot of work.

We mostly loose badly with Flanno in the side, it isn't all his fsult, but he has to be punted again.
In fact the 3 can work on their defensive combination in reserve grade.

When a team has a really bad problem like that it has to be addressed.
The attitude of the team sucked, but it is hard to keep motivation and energy when an edge is leaking soft tries like that.

Lewis probably deserves another shot at least he puts in for the full 80.

Wakeham has nothing to fear from Flanno. 

Exactly. Can’t blame the ref for missing tackles and bring out of position. We are playing the worst defensive football I have ever seen a Bulldogs side play. And our attack is almost as bad. 

I don't know why we were playing up and in defense against a team with a deep set backline coming out of their end. Regardless of errors from the players, it was a time to slide, even if we gave up ground.

The edge defence this year is the worst I can remember, in other era's we were poor everywhere.

Our middle defence might have been ok, but Manly played around that to the shambles.

I like Baz I know he has a good knowledge of the game especially the attack side, but fans can only put up with this crap for so long.

Jacko over 100 metres 50 tackles 3 misses.
JMK 38 tackles 2 misses.
Thompson and Hetherington ok.
These guys were not the problem.
Not one of Averillo's better games, but not that bad.
Meaney ok.
BBO promising.
Everyone else was reserve grade standard or even worse.

Same. When I first heard we were after him I thought it was crazy. We just had a rookie coach in Pay and I thought it would be best to bring in an experienced coach to use the salary cap money wisely in the rebuild. I tried to convince myself because he says the right things and dies have good knowledge of the game. But results have been terrible. 

I'm just severely disappointed with his team and the fact that of all coaches, he should have known the abilities of half that Manly team.

The fact he couldnt address the overlaps to wings and make adjustments on the fly has me worried. 

I don't know why we were playing up and in defense when Manly were in their half.

Regardless Manu and Katoa were hopeless, Schoupp must have been making Katoa look good.
Or maybe it is the first time a team has exploited that weakness with a fast winger.

Manu has a lot to learn but he is young, on the other side of the field Hoppa wasn't great, not for the first time this season.

Was it poor team selection, poor coaching or substandard players.?... all of the above.

I was happy with the team selection even though it blew up badly.
It was worth giving Flanno another chance.
Manu was probably the logical backline selection, the options were limited.

But in hindsight Lewis and Atoni should have got a run.

Talent isn't an excuse for Baz next season, not with Burton, Naden  and JAC joining the club and with our young players who should be better next year.

I can't wait to see the end of Hoppa.

We know Baz can't coach with limited talent, we will see how he goes with more talent.

Mentally we were flat, this year we struggle after a break, and until the last few prior weeks we start games badly. I don't know why the side wasn't pumped up, that is a big problem.

We also saw first hand that Wakeham is a much better defender than Flanno.

Yes the up and in was exposed early and needed an immediate adjustment from the coach at 12-0. 

I blame Barrett for that. It's easy for outside backs to slide. They would have adjusted under the instruction. If it were me, I'd fekk the gameplan instruction and make the adjustment myself. It's what DCE and Turbo do when Des talks shit.

DCE is one of the smartest and skillful footballers. He's towards the end of his career but you dont fekk with him. He'll carve you up as long as his team is on the same page as him. 

Once DCE started passing to his outside backs, we were gone. In origin, the blues smothered both him and the backs and he had mo option but rely on his forwards who were bashed and nullified.

We gave him too much room

No argument there, we shouldn't have been doing it in the first place.

I think Wakeham and Schoupp are much better defenders and it shows.

Schoupp also defends up and in.

I have the same issues. No adjustments at half time just tell the team to start again????
