+xWas there any mention of games in the September international break? I watched the whole presser. He mentioned games in October and November but nothing for September. Seems almost certain it will only be a training camp I think.

I think GA will do alright. I like the fact that's he's also looking after the Olyroos and mentions the need to inject more youth into the Socceroos set up. It's a crying shame this shit with the FFA congress is bubbling away in the background.

Arnold doesn't need to coach. Frank Lowy just need to show up before games & attempt to give pep talks.

In the write up it says 2 in September, including a farewell for Cahill, and one in October. So who knows. It is very late to be organising the September dates.

he definitely is. I only worry he is a bit of a ben hunt of coaches. Brilliant and consistent but struggles in pressure matches

Like Bert, he will be flexible with tactics. I liked Arnie saying that Arzani will get more game time, as will more young players. Shame Ange became intransigent. He should be remembered more positively given his Asian Cup trophy. Instead he will be remembered as the coach who walked out on a World Cup.

I agree we should applaud him for his very positive contributions but that shouldn't make him immune from deserved criticism.

It wasn't a nice thing he did. He left everyone in a lurch at the most important time. It was actually pretty inexcusable behaviour. He made it all about himself, yet refused to even properly explain why he was leaving. I like Ange and I believed in his philosophy, but the way he abandoned the team will always be a huge black mark against him.

cheeez leb roo turn it up mate, we all know your dislike of GA for starters but its not to excuse a captain abandoning his ship ! and I still don't understand with all his love and passion for our Aussie game he walked out with the biggest show on earth around the corner - the pinnacle to show his passion/roots/vision for his country. Hindsight is a wonderful thing - imagine if he was guiding us in Russia ?! FFS what would have occurred most likely would have been just as worse as what Lowy is doing to our game. Wake up to yourself, good post Derider. PS, GA, just do the job and talk post results not pre please !
