+xNow where have we seen this before ….? Hawthorn football club has called in an external agency (with no agenda of course) to survey players about their treatment. Feedback provided anonymously (of course). Confidential report (leaked to sympathetic media of course) claims coaches are racists (well at least that’s different). Coaches face trial by media (of course) - careers damaged regardless of the outcome of any proper investigation (of course). If you knew what Lucy knew about Hawthorn you wouldn't be saying that.

+xPhillipines has won the AFF Women's Championship by defeating Thailand 3-0. Reid, Holmes, Zelic, Rushton & Heyman & assorted spineless lapdogs. Have you contacted Allen Stajic to congratulate him & to reflect on your poor judgement? Apologise to Stajic. Winning the tournament by beating the #43 in the world rankings in the final should see the Phillipines ranking jump up from #53.

+xIt’s just sad to see a once dominate team fall off a cliff. We’re going to fail at this World Cup and it’ll sting because it’s a once in a life time opportunity to play in a home World Cup When were we dominant? It is four and a half years since we had three months being #4 in the world, six months later we were back at #8 and we oscillated between #6 and #8 until after the WWC in France in 2019. Since Gustavsson took over we have dropped to #12. The average ranking of the Matildas since the current ranking system was set up in 2003 is #11 so at #12 now are we really just back to "normal"? I don't believe that we have a #12 team. I think at our best we are still potentially in the top 8. Our problem is that we have a strong top team but with a number of worrying positions in our defence that good teams can exploit and our reserve strength is suspect. If you look at the development of our squad you find that half of it (14 players) , and in fact the best half of it, was introduced to international football and developed before Stajcic took over from Sermanni. During the Stajcic period we either didn't have quality young players to blood or Stajcic chose to run with and hone his top team at the expense of development. In four years Stajcic capped 12 players and 5 of them are in the current squad with only Carpenter and Fowler as definite starters if fit. It is quite clear that Gustavsson has been blooding players looking for new talent and players to cover our weaknesses. So far in 24 games he has capped 15 players with Cooney-Cross now having 16 caps, Nevin 10 caps, Micah 9 caps, Wheeler 9 caps and Grant 5 caps the most used of them. He has built experience into Milicic capped player Roestbakken 7 caps and Stajcic capped players Fowler 26 caps and Chidiac 16 caps. Whether he has found what he was looking for we don't know but with only 6 international windows left before the WWC I think he should now start the consolidation phase building combinations, strategy and experience for those players needing further development. Hopefully we will get 10-12 games in before the WC starts and will be able to put on a creditable show at our home WC. We can only hope that Gustavsson will be able to get the best out of the squad he selects.

I though Ben Roberts Smith kicked the biggest own goal in Australia until Craig McLaughlin came along and kicked a bigger one but the clowns that decided to get rid of Staj kicked the biggest one of them all. We will get out of the group at next year's WWC only because there are 32 teams for the first time and I guarantee you we will be out in the round of 16. Absolutely 100%. Someone quote this post so it's there for all posterity.

+xAn independent inquiry into an alleged toxic culture within Australian football has referred three separate complaints to police, with two further claims being probed in house. The review by Sport Integrity Australia, a government agency, was sparked by historic claims of sexual harassment in the women's game by former members of the national team, most notably star striker Lisa De Vanna. De Vanna, who earned 150 caps for Australia before her retirement last year, said she was regularly subject to predatory behaviour early in her career. https://www.news9live.com/sports/football/claims-stemming-from-australia-football-probe-referred-to-police-172690?infinitescroll=1
Any comment from Reid, Zelic,Heyman,Holmes & Rushon now that its been referred to the police? If the police only knew what they know …

+xAt the present FIFA Womens World Cup 2022, when I see what Stajcic has done with 64th ranked Philippines taking them to the Semi-Final against South Korea, I wonder how many of us wonder what might have been if he had not been sacked. Can any of you still remember how well the Matildas were doing at the time when he was sacked? During Stajcic’s time as Matilda’s coach they were ranked as high as 4th in the world rankings. When he was sacked they were 6th, currently they are 11th.

+xSo Stajic get Philipines further in the Asian Cup than the Matildas and by doing so qualifies for the WWC in Australia. Let's also take something else into consideration, if Australia weren't hosting the WWC we might not have qualified and Stajic has earnt his qualification. So Heather Reid, Zelic, Rushton, Holmes & Heyman. Do any of you have any comment in regards to this at this time? Does the current head of Women's Football at the FA Sarah Walsh have any comment regarding this? Do any other media lapdogs & stenographers for the FA have any comment on this at this time? Didn't think you did so I have one on behalf of karma. SUCK ON THAT ONE interesting
