If FFT started assimilating with Facebook, I would leave. I don't have a facebook and I don't want to have it pushed in my face all the time.

Google does it with youtube.
This is a football site though. Built around a magazine. I dont think it would help FFT in any way.

I know a lot of readers here are much younger than me, and I suspect many of them have Facebook and other social networking software setups. So I thought the following story could be very interesting as a way to build readership here and enhance the whole 442 online experience:
http://www.pcworld.com/article/154990/first_look_why_facebook_connect_is_bound_for_success.html
For anyone too lazy to read, basically it's about FAcebook Connect, which is a way to integrate your Facebook login with your 442 login. "Facebook says the sites involved in early testing reported a 50 percent jump in user engagement."
Google has something similar called Google Friend Connect. It's all based on OpenID.
