Annoying is that none of the others can hassle Jordan I think. We'll need to do it ourselves.

+x+xhome games - Socceroos: Thursday October 10th 2019 vs Indonesia/Singapore/Nepal/Cambodia/Bangladesh/Mongolia/Guam/Sri Lanka Thursday March 26th 2020 Turkmenistan/Myanmar/Hong Kong/Yemen/Afghanistan/Maldives/Kuwait/Malaysia Thursday June 4th 2020 vs Palestine/India/Bahrain/Thailand/Tajikistan/North Korea/Chinese Taipei/Philippines Tuesday June 9th 2020 vs Iraq/Uzbekistan/Syria/Oman/Lebanon/Kyrgyzstan/Vietnam/Jordan away games - Socceroos: Tuesday September 10th 2019 vs Turkmenistan/Myanmar/Hong Kong/Yemen/Afghanistan/Maldives/Kuwait/Malaysia Tuesday October 15th 2019 vs Palestine/India/Bahrain/Thailand/Tajikistan/North Korea/Chinese Taipei/Philippines Thursday November 14th 2019 vs Iraq/Uzbekistan/Syria/Oman/Lebanon/Kyrgyzstan/Vietnam/Jordan Tuesday March 31st 2020 Indonesia/Singapore/Nepal/Cambodia/Bangladesh/Mongolia/Guam/Sri Lanka source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2022_FIFA_World_Cup_qualification_%E2%80%93_AFC_Second_RoundAnd from what i was reading regarding venues for World Cup/Asian Cup joint qualifiers that the Asian Football Confederation deadline to nominate match venues is 3 months (12 weeks) before the match means Football Federation Australia will confirm the venue for first home game for the Socceroos which is Thursday October 10th immediately after the draw held on Wednesday July 17th at AFC House in Kuala Lumpur. Bear in mind that this is correct if the Socceroos are drawn as A1/B1/C1 etc and not moved to A5/B5/C5 etc or otherwise adjust the draw to provide a bye on Match Day 10 (June 9) ahead of the 2020 Copa America kicking off on 12 June.. IMO this could be a possibility for both Australia and Qatar and has occurred previously with Japan in 2014 World Cup Qualification ahead of the 2013 Confederations Cup. If we are moved to Pot 5 then other teams in the Group would move up 1 pot meaning the Pot 2 side in our group would be the new Pot 1. Qatar requested to be put in Pot 5, so presumably Australia didn't and the match schedule will be as the OP

Eh not totally a shit group, Kuwait have been on a downward spiral recently and are nowhere near the team that gave us a scare 4 years ago. Nepal and Taiwan will be fun.

+xSouth Korea and North Korea in the same group lol. there's talk of them co-hosting a future women's world cup. that was their excuse for dropping out of asian cup host vs china anyway.

Kuwait away the first match, if wiki is to be believed.
At least we'll know early on that we won't be making it if we don't get the three points there.

We must at least draw to Jordan away. Anything else would put us in a very tight spot. I expect Jordan to maul everyone at home. Chinese Taipei are generally poor but I hope they do well at home against our competitors.

That's true, but also the 4 second place teams will go through as well so you can afford to drop some points and still make it. Group D though, what a nightmare.

Not a great draw. Would've preferred grouops A,E,F or G. Japan was very lucky. At Least we didn't get Iraq though.

OK Jordan start in Taipei and host Kuwait. Bit of pressure there. We're in Jordan November 14.
Thinking about match times, Nepal and Chinese Taipei should be decent for Australia and European times work wise. Jordan and Kuwait will be in the middle of the night for Australia.

If we're counting on getting through the second stage of AFC qualifiers by snagging second and relying on pure chance to be in the best 4 of the 8 runners up then we should just cut out the middle man and fold football in Australia and find other hobbies.

Chinese Taipei are generally poor but I hope they do well at home against our competitors. Obviously the pivotal game of the group, prior to the return home game on the last match day.
