+x+x+x+xI don't think it'd happen but what would you say to an A League weekend in one city like the NRL did? It's be 5 games over 3 days with 1 Friday night and 2 each of the following days. The pitch would be destroyed. I think it could be a novelty if done at Aami Park. Victory vs Sydney at marvel would still work out. The issue with the NRL was that Brisbane hotels and flights skyrocketed in price deterring many NSW fans from making the trip. Many said also that they really weren't interested in watching other teams. If it were to happen then I feel derbies in Melbourne would be a bit tacky but may be the way to get people there. They play origin in WA now so it could be worse. Central Coast vs Brisbane Western United vs WSW Victory vs Sydney Adelaide vs Perth Wellington bye. Has any league around the world ever done anything like this before? I’d be against it. I don’t like clubs moving home games away from home ... for the fans sake, home should mean home Says the Redcliffe Roar supporter. Redcliffe is home ya muppet How so?

Because the fans consider it home and are happy to go. It’s not as central as sunny Suncorp but it’s easily accessible by half of the Roar fan base in the north and with easy parking fans in the south won’t be unduly inconvenient if they have a car. Even from Logan in the south to Redcliffe it’s less than a 50 minute journey, that’s way less than most people’s morning commute. Its like Victory playing games at AAMI and Marvel Stadium, they’re both at home still.

So according to you, "home means home", as long as the venue is easily accessible by notionally 12.5% of the fan base, has easy parking for notionally 25% of the fan base who won't be unduly inconvenienced if they have a car, and is less than a 50min journey which is supposedly less than most people's morning commute. Thanks for clarifying that.

Redcliffe is at home because, it’s at home. Playing a game in sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth etc as the original poster suggested would not be a home game, because they are all, err, away. i appreciate your job on this Board is to talk shit and troll other posters, but if that’s not simple enough for you download google maps or something similar lol.

Would assume it's the big clubs complaining about the "marquee fixtures".

Football Federation Australia & A League officials were meant to announce the 2019/20 Hyundai A League draw today however two of the eleven clubs aren't happy with them so they have been pushed back to next week or the week after.
Newcastle Jets are one of the clubs in question i've been told not happy with a string of away matches to kickoff & all home matches a Saturday 5.30pm kickoff.

This just got posted on Twitter (and then almost immediately deleted) by an account with a good record of inside knowledge from the FFA. Supposedly the draft draw for the first two rounds. Apparently the clubs that complained were Newcastle and Victory.

Don’t clubs usually put in preferences early on and the fixture is formed around this and Foxtel input.
Surely it doesn’t that that bad that they have to postpone the final draft just before releasing the draw

Not just that, The Orignal Rivalry, F3 derby, Nix v WU and Victory v WU are all in the first two rounds as well. These games need to be spread out throughout the season imo, not crammed into two rounds.
