Ireland's batting will always be their downfall against the big sides, it's a bit of a shame they only managed 200 or so, but overall what a great day for them. I don't have much faith in them chasing a second innings total of 150+ even though they do have some handy county batsmen..need to not let England get away early on day 2.

It was bordering on pitiful seeing Broad get the no look hook treatment from a 37 yr old bowler

It’s meant to be a brutally (for the UK) hot day today so no excuses if England’s chancers fail with the bat in 2nd innings

Ireland had little luck bowling today in the first session. 

Every time the ball hit the edge yesterday it flew to an Irish fielder in a catching position.

You could always move to Aus, TP.

It is probably the country, along with NZ, that is most like the UK anywhere in the world, but with a different climate.

That's pretty shocking batting by England but Ireland bowled very well. They actually have a couple of good bowlers - Boyd Rankin (played one test match for England) and Tim Murtagh (800 FC wickets) are very experienced county pros who know how to bowl in English conditions. Sadly for Ireland they are both over 35 of age, so they'll only get a couple more years out of them. 

Decentric - Jack Leach is a very handy left arm orthodox bowler. I think he's the best specialist spin bowler in England, however the selectors have been going for the all rounder in Moeen Ali or Adil Rashid. 

Pommies rolled by 38 year old journeyman Murtagh in first innings. Back to earth in the second tho. At his generous pace and with little movement he is far less potent. Adair and Rankin gifted the Englishmen far too many four balls. Early days on whether Roy is Test material as he scored at a white ball rate and looked untroubled by the bowling.. unlike the first innings when he was all at sea against the movement.

With this batsman stepping away, he isn’t going to last long! 

England doesn't even look that excited about victory after winning by 143 runs.
