Our house is full of Irish cricket supporters!
England 1-7 which supports Baggers and my contention that One Day Cricket is poor preparation for Test Cricket.
Roy already back in the pavilion!

Murtagh bowling tightly and the other Irish opener getting nice shape.
The latter dismissed Denly, as Murtagh induces an outside edge to the keeper and dismisses Burns. The Poms are 3-36.

Bairstow is so far out of his crease against the pace bowlers.
The Aussie quicks will knock his block off if he does this against us!

Go DRS for Root LBW!
Root out for 2!
A shocking original decision by umpire as action replay showed the ball hit half way up the middle stump!
Mark Adair has 2 wickets.
England 4-42!

Murtagh takes his 5th wicket 80 mins into the Test!
Outside edge to the keeper, Ali dismissed,
England are 7-43.

Outstanding effort from Murtagh and Ireland. Hopefully they polish off the tail cheaply and bat well.

Curran has played a decent cover drive and a good off drive.
England is really in strife.

+xOutstanding effort from Murtagh and Ireland. Hopefully they polish off the tail cheaply and bat well. I’m gobsmacked! Ireland’s bowling has been superb on a pitch doing a bit.

I’ve just tuned in. I don’t believe what has happened thus far. Ireland are thrashing the Poms.

Lords seems full apart from the members area. I must say I’m surprised.

I don’t believe this! Rankin gets an edge to the keeper and wins the DRS appeal.

+xImpossible. How has it happened? Ireland has bowled well on a helpful pitch. England have batted atrociously too.

Now 9-59 after Rankin induces an edge to bat pad or silly mid on.

I’ve never heard of Stone and Leach - the last two batters in the English innings.

Stone bowled Adair!
England all out for 85.
Amazing!
37 year old Murtagh will be a hero in Ireland.
Paddy supporters going nuts in my place. Guinness nowhere near as good as Tassie dark craft beers.

That's pretty shocking batting by England but Ireland bowled very well. They actually have a couple of good bowlers - Boyd Rankin (played one test match for England) and Tim Murtagh (800 FC wickets) are very experienced county pros who know how to bowl in English conditions. Sadly for Ireland they are both over 35 of age, so they'll only get a couple more years out of them.
Decentric - Jack Leach is a very handy left arm orthodox bowler. I think he's the best specialist spin bowler in England, however the selectors have been going for the all rounder in Moeen Ali or Adil Rashid.

Just had a look at some of the highlights - Adair looks like a useful bowler. Murtagh is not quick any more - only bowling about 120kph. But he still bowls in good areas and gets some nibble off the seam.
If England's top order can't face that, Australia's bowlers will eat them for breakfast.

I knew Murtagh had played a lot county cricket, but didn't realise he was 37. I thought Rankin was in English squads in the past .

It looks good compared to England's total ATM.
