Watching Arzani highlights videos on YouTube it’s hard to NOT be impressed with his skills- both at A-league and Socceroos levels. Yet despite him recently saying that he was ready to play again he has just been dropped from Celtic squad. Wouldn’t he be better off going to another ‘lesser’ club where he would be a STARTING PLAYER in a team more ‘grateful’ and in need of a quality attacking player?!
I think he will be a real force in years to come but SICK of seeing him just sitting in the stands...

*Only counting Celtic's transfers here (there are a few more from the other Scottish teams during the same period that I haven't counted).

In the seven seasons that Rogic has been at Celtic, 12 players have moved on to teams in the "Big 5" leagues + another 5 players to the leagues just below the "Big 5". This says more about Rogic, then that of the quality of the league/competition, as there is plenty of other players making the move to the stronger leagues from this so called "7th rate competition", whereas Rogic hasn't.

Maybe Rogic isn't as good as you all believe/make him out to be?? Maybe he has found his true level (a "7th rate competition" level player)??  Don't get me wrong, I like the lad, and glad he is playing for Celtic.  That said, I also have no issues him moving on (as long as we gets a fair fee for him).

Well, from half of the forum. The other half cry foul he hasn't been signed from a club from the continent or the EPL yet.

Make no mistake,  when Rogic is fit, he does awesome for us, and for that I am happy and grateful. I am fine if he stays.  Will be interesting to see how he goes when he returns to full fitness. Especially with Christie's form of late. He has a real challenge for the number 10 role on his hands.

Brett Emerton wrote in September 2018 that a Dutch club were interested in Arzani and would have been better choice...

He was part of the overall squad not the squad to travel to Romania in a crucial qualifier  and play his first minutes in 9 months. That's ridiculous. He will get his chance in the next month domestically once he is upto full fitness.

I may be incorrect but I believe he means despite the fact Arzani is no longer injured he hasn't featured in any matches. Also 'Celtic will regret letting him go' may mean Celtic will regret not utilising his loan deal fully as they may potentially have an opportunity at purchasing him and he could go on to become a great player.

No doubt he has tremendous potential but the kid played half a season of A-League, of which the majority of those games he didn’t even play the full 90 mins. I actually recall a few games he was crippled with cramp by about the 70 mins mark because he wasn’t conditioned for it. He went OS far too underdone and then unfortunately injured himself in the process.

I’d love to see him playing more but let’s be realistic here, he’s gotta work his way up to first team European football. He really should’ve taken a lead out of Aaron Mooys book and carved up the A-League for a good season or two before even considering heading off.

Wasn't up to him though, he had to head to the mothership for CFG's FFP ledger. Ideally in hindsight he could have been loaned back to Melbourne City to continue developing, but the salary cap ruled that out.

Arzani's injury had everything to do with him turning awkwardly and nothing to do with him leaving too early. 

Players injure themselves all the time. Even in Scotland , even in the A-League. I don't get why ppl look to blame things. It's sport its Marbo the vibe etc

I mean Celtic STILL hasn’t included him in any squads- even in SPL games- since he was given all clear to play weeks ago... what a waste. He is obviously not going to be re-signed by Celtic if they refuse to put him on, even for 10-15 minutes. Arzani will be let go by Celtic at end of contract... Bunch of dumb arses running that club that can’t recognise an unpolished diamond when they see it. The 1 game he did play he was great- perfect pass to what should hav been a certain goal. Has Lennon even watched that game?! 

First things first... Arzani is only at Celtic on loan, not a permanent contract.

Secondly... Celtic has a great record when it comes to developing "diamonds in the rough" and turn them into quality players. A big part as to why Man City allowed Arzani to go to Celtic on loan in the first place.

Third... He is recovering from an ACL injury.

Forth... There has only been four league matches played so far this season. Arzani is playing catch up, as he has not had a proper preseason unlike the rest of the players. He is behind the eight ball when it comes to his fitness levels, and as to where he currently finds himself in the pecking order.

Now, Man City has a recall player condition in the Arzani deal made with Celtic. The [FACT] that Man City has not recalled him from Celtic, and sent him out on loan to another team, shows that they to feel/believe he is not fully ready to be playing just yet. 

As for when Arzani is fit enough to play, he won't be an automatic pick to play. He will need to battle and replace the players who are ahead of him. And on current form, he has a huge battle on his hands at replacing those who are currently playing.

Watched all of them. It’s the SPL - Not the bloody WCup! His minutes against France were good and looked incredible against Denmark. He can kill SPL if given the chance...

Approx. 12 against France. 25 against Denmark. 35 against Peru. Played great in all games- nearly scored, creating good chances (combined well with Rogic btw) But can’t get 1 minute in SPL. Hmm... How many minutes did the Scottish born Celtic players get in Wcup?! I assume a big fat zero?! Bert Van Marwijk coached Australia at Wcup last year. Coached Wcup runners up Netherlands side in 2010- and he chose Arzani in all 3 crucial Wcup games. How many sides has Lennon coached in WCup matches?! Just give him some minutes Lennon... enough said I think.

So, he has played a little over an hour during the World Cup (over a year ago). A handful of minute back in November, and does his ACL during that same match. He has only just returned to training, and you think he is ready, while those who see him everyday still believes he still has some work to do, to get up to speed with the rest of his team mates.

Arzani's first battle isn't against SPL teams - It's against his fellow team mates who play the same positions as he does. If he is good enough, he will get minutes. As I have said before, he is the type of winger that Lennon loves.

Look, we are going around in circles here. So I'm just going to end with....  There is no need to rush things with the lad until he is fully ready to play, especially when an ACL is involved.  You want to rush him back premature, that's fine, that's your opinion. I would rather go by those who see him everyday at training, as to how far along he has come from his injury.

In fairness to Lennon, the loan was signed off when Rodgers was in charge and even he barely knew of him at the time. 

Also he's coming off an ACL, just because he's young and an Aussie everyone is bleeding about him not getting picked.

The travel factor of the Europa League could also come into play and they don't want him flying around the place with a freshly reconstructed knee.

Actually, it has a fair bit to do with his injury. Rogic should be back in contention to play in the next week or two, Arzani still has some time to go.

Arzani also is currently a fair way down in the pecking order for a wing spot (due to him being out injured for so long), which means we don't need to rush him back before he is truly ready to make his return, as we have plenty of other options.  Let the kid recover properly, there is no need to rush things.

When he returns from his injury, if he is good enough to move up the pecking order, he will get minutes. But he does have competition for a place in the match day squad, so it won't come easy.

If he does move up the pecking order, and Celtic are still playing in Europe after Christmas, he may be added to the Europa League registration for the Knockout rounds.

Balin, Celtic had to name a squad for the entire Champions League Competition. Arzani and Rogic were named in that Champions League squad, of which the Sarajevo game was part of(as a qualifier). Neither is up to full fitness.

Yes it's clearly worth losing our shit that a club won't waste one of their squad spots for the Champions League qualifying rounds on an injured player that has no chance of being fit until the next registration period.

Arzani’s career at the top is effectively over before it began anyway, few player fulfil their potential after doing an ACL at such a young age.

More and more with every passing year, medical science has improved a lot the past decade. It isn't a career ending injury anymore

Absolutely, and hopefully he'll still have a great career, but the truth is that the injury and the time off from development is a huge blow even in the best case scenario.

not always ..every player is different ..sometimes time off can prolong a players career....in others it allows the player to mature..both through being a year older and also the experience of "nearly losing it all" and beating it .

Yep i see your point.. but I believe Arzani is a very rare world class attacker and can still have very successful career. Another player example is Rhyan Grant- maybe not world class player but is still playing career best football after 2 acl’s! So i would never write Arzani off. Still only 20 years old too

Also surgical techniques have come a long way in regard to knee injuries over the last 10-15 years.   Its amazing to see players coming back now from ACL reconstructions seemingly unimpeded.  It's not a death nell anymore in the way it was even as recently as Paul Okon's era.  Okon was never the same player after he came back.

yep some types take a lot longer gaining confidence after an ACL op some don't.
They way the SPL plays the longer he spends strengthening his body more so his legs the better.
