Is it a good idea to start a new ‘Reserves’’ B league for new emerging players to develop their skills during A-league off season months? Best new players could then ‘graduate’ to A-league for next season? Also good for fans to be able to watch more games inbetween A-league seasons- kill some boredom... Also challenge/piss off the bloody Afl!

The reserve league needs to run parallel with the A League, you can’t coach players well who don’t play.

Whatever one calls it, a Reserve, or B League is essential to the development of the younger generation of players. That it was ignored in the development of the A League is a blight on the legacy of F Lowy.

Heard there will be expressions of interest going to be sent out by the end of the year by FFA to NPL teams in order to create the championship. Hope its true.

Have to laugh every time somebody pitches an idea to work around the current flawed structure instead of deciding we need to fix it

If the FFA had the initiative to work in a half assed idea, why wouldnt they go whole ass?

We have a system for developing young players during the winter season.  It's called the NPL.  Hopefully soon we will have 2 pathways for the best of those players, the 2nd division and the A-League club's reserve competition to continue their development during the summer season.
