+x+xbut City have got greedy gouging fans and in return they have voted with their feet But City haven't had the chance to change their ticket prices - just wait til the clubs have full control ! In the meantime, thanks new ffa... Thanks old FFA for Sustainability, fishing metrics and fighting with all stakeholders until the HAL was forced into a death spiral. Thanks new FFA for rearranging the deckchairs. Lol It looks like the owners will have to scrape up the road kill in 3.5yrs time.

Yep, iHAL has no ifluence at all https://www.ftbl.com.au/news/a-league-pulls-plug-on-national-radio-ad-campaign-531666A nationwide A-League radio ad campaign for the launch of the new season has been scrapped after clubs couldn't agree on a strategy.Football Federation Australia has previously booked slots on Australian Radio Network stations nationwide as part of the marketing blitz that heralds the start of the new season each year. However this year the plug was pulled at the eleventh hour after a split between clubs and the FFA over the ARN strategy. https://forum.insidesport.com.au/2823229/ALeague-club-owners-launch-100-days-blueprint-to-kickstart-competitions-renewal?PageIndex=1 A-League club owners have begun a “first 100 days” blitz to revolutionise the way the competition is marketed and run, with widespread investment promised to combat sliding ratings and attendances. After years spent wresting control of their own competition from Football Federation Australia, owners revealed plans to hitting the ground running with transfers between clubs, prize money for successful teams, a 16-team expansion plan and — most immediately — a digital-led campaign to drive awareness among sports fans. The plans were presented to CEOs, coaches and staff of the clubs at a two-day summit in Double Bay.Officials described the owners’ presentation as “evangelical” in underlining the urgent need to combat the sense of inertia that has gripped the competition for the past two seasons.

+x+x+x+xHas the BBL lost a bit of its shine? On a pleasant night at the SCG they could only get a disappointing crowd of 13,247 Sydney fc would kill for that on a Wednesday night. If they played 3 or 4 home games a year during the holiday season? Holiday season? Every adult there last night would have had work today. Looks like the adults are still working with just a few days until Christmas.

+xThe Melbourne derby used to be the pre xmas must see event. Had the electric atmosphere and entertaining battles but City have got greedy gouging fans and in return they have voted with their feet I don't think they gouged us. CFG don't need the money. I think it was a deliberate ploy from them to discourage us from going. but thankfully there has been enough outrage from the fans to embarrass them. Tickets are already on sale for the next derby and they have removed the $55 tickets.

#BBL crowds for first 10 matches: 2017-18 250,444 2018-19 193,487 2019-20 139,937
Not comparing apples with apples entirely here - some major scheduling differences between the early parts of each season. I suspect also that the threat of smoke has affected three of the games.

+x+x+x#BBL crowds for first 10 matches: 2017-18 250,4442018-19 193,4872019-20 139,937
Not comparing apples with apples entirely here - some major scheduling differences between the early parts of each season. I suspect also that the threat of smoke has affected three of the games.
Average crowd in BBL in the last few seasons 2014/15 - 23,590 15/16 - 29,443 16/17 - 30,114 17/18 - 26,531 18/19 - 20,552 19/20 - 14,916 (after 12 games, down 28.4% from last season) That will significantly change when bigger venues like the MCG become available. The average after 12 games last season was around 18.4k while this season it is 14.9k. It will be interesting to see how much of the drop so far is picked up once the MCG etc are available.

Well to put an A league spin on it, the bbl hasn’t even had one of its Sydney or Melbourne derbies yet.
