Too windy those days

It was too hot in Perth so the night time games should go better there too.

You guys realise this was the exact same price City fans had to pay at Marvel earlier this season?

bullshit. provide evidence or STFU.

I do concede that when Heart/City added $5 to each ticket many years ago, MVFC followed suit. 2 wrongs don't make a right. but we didn't charge $55 for the away bay in R1.

How can I provide you the evidence now when the game was in round 1? That was the price to sit in the ACTIVE area for City away fans, I can understand why you wouldn't check since you wouldn't go sit there, but it was. And it''s exactly the same price it is for Victory ACTIVE away fans for this game. Seriously, why would I be lying or making it up when I said it was a league problem with the pricing? Go sit somewhere else if you can't/don't want to pay $50 to sit in Victory's allocated active section, that's what I did for round 1. It was the same case, pay $50 to sit in active away area or pay $30 for basic seating. Sick of all the Victory fans like yourself who obviously think you're the only club that has to fork out a fortune to go to a game. Living in Melbourne, I know straight up that both City and Victory overprice their tickets, I've heard and read from people that Perth and WSW do too. No club should be pricing $50 for a game that doesn't even come close to selling out. No club, including Victory, has demand more than supply.

If they played 3 or 4 home games a year during the holiday season?

Sydney fc would kill for that on a Wednesday night.

What??? Do you mean SFC would kill for the media attention, the foxsport attention, this is nearly AFL media level attention, wall to wall coverage & get 13K for a Wednesday night.
If SFC had half the media attention & media budget as the Giants in the AFL & the BBL, it would smash 13K on a Wednesday night.
They are playing some wonderful football at present, up there nearly with Ange Brisbane Roar as some of the best local club football this country has seen.

BBL is like McDonalds. It's primary target is kids. It's no surprise the games run during the school holidays.
If the novelty wears off because of too many games, kids will  stop going and then crowds will begin looking like normal cricket crowds.

As far as ratings go.It's hard to know what the future holds.Cricket is one of those games you can leave on in the background during those hot summer days. It's almost like a screen saver.
Whether endless BBL games starts to become boring ,only time will tell, especially with changing viewing habits as streaming options  become  embedded.

hard to argue with this

It’s easy to argue with it, the average sports fan could not name you a single Sydney Sixers player. If the Sydney kings received the same level of media attention as what Sydney fc have had over the years they would need to be build the worlds largest basketball arena.

Popularity creates media interest. Not the other way around. The BBL receives incredible media interest because it is popular

Its ridiculous to think people will watch a failing product in large numbers just because its on TV

Plenty of people on here hate the AFL, NRL or BBL despite the heavy coverage. Why assume other people are different when it comes to our league?

Maybe but still think commercial interest drives coverage. Broncos and Courier Mail a point in case, effectively owned by the same people. People on this forum are most likely football fans not swayed by massive advertising campaigns on AFL or The Big Bash. However, the large majority of sports and entertainment  loving people would be the target. The book Soccernomics discusses this, the loyal supporter and the transient supporter combine to support the big European clubs.

If media networks had control over what we did and didnt like then most TV shows would rate the same

In fact they wouldnt spend time and money trying to make the A League popular given the broadcast costs and amount they had to pay out. You'd see everybody watching Bewitched reruns

Sport has cultural and social significance. The importance of cricket to Australians is the reason the WBBL was killing the A League, not the amount of advertising material

I'm a massive cricket fan, I wouldn't even know what the Sydney sixers are let alone name a player. The BBL media attention is all about the hype, the Test Cricket players are the ones with the well known players & yet the Test crowds are low.
I think you are grasping there with the Sydney Kings.

Why are Maccas the largest food chain in the world, media drives popularity.
Look at the Kardashians, you do not think the media drives their popularity, look at Justin Beaver.
I followed La Liga for years now with Messi v Ronaldo, many champions league win, best players in the world, best teams in the world up to this year, so why was PL the more popular, media!!!!!

I would settle for them putting a-league plugs in the top corner of cricket broadcasts like they do for cricket during football broadcasts.
