No offence and I'm sure Jon appreciates the cash but I hope these guys don't come anywhere near the shirts. I think we are only just living down the Jim's Plumbing front of shirt abomination

Congratulations! Make sure that anybody who is foolish enough to ask if you need a hand is given a list of jobs and told go for your life. I would even go so far as to suggest putting up a whiteboard with a list of jobs on it and anyone who come to visit is required to complete one before they leave.

Wow! Triplets. I have one on the way in December, couldn't imagine how much my life would change if it were three, given all the money my wife and I forked out for the nursery. (She forced me to fork out)

Good lucks to you and all the best!

How do you think this will effect Adelaide United's youth team participation with regards to this article. I know this should belong in state league but how this structure works will have implications on Adelaide United. Tell me what you think fellow Reds Supporters

FFSA independent inquiry Val Migliaccio
From: AdelaideNow September 01, 2011 6:00PM

ADELAIDENOW has obtained a copy of the Football Federation SA's proposed competitions future structure conducted by PFK chartered accountants.

An independent review was ordered by Football Federation SA's board in March.

The document was presented to the FFSA's men's standing committee on Wednesday night.

Read the full story in Friday's The Advertiser.

Proposed Competition Structure Mens Semi Professional Competition
OPTIONS

Following a meeting of members of the Mens Standing Committee on Wednesday night 31st of August it was agreed that the following Competition Structure Options be sent to all clubs prior to the Presidents Meeting scheduled for Wednesday 7 September at Hindmarsh Stadium (Carlsberg Room) at 6.30pm.

The thought process behind the release of information was to ensure that clubs have time to consider each of the

Options listed below to ensure productive discussion at the meeting.

Structure of the Mens Semi Professional Competition

In relation to the competition the review conducted by PKF has clearly indicated;

1 That clubs wish for an increase in the number of teams in leagues is achieved

2 That clubs wish for the number of games to be increased.

3 That FFSA increase prize money levels.

4 That FFSA reduce and equalize Affiliation Fees

Taking into consideration the need and wish to accommodate all clubs within the structure of the current Super, Premier and State Leagues the following options have been developed for consideration.

Mens Standing Committee Recommendation - that option one, or two and or three are considered for 2012.

If option three is agreed then in 2013 option one or two will be implemented.

FOR CONSIDERATION: Change of Names of the Super, Premier and State
Leagues to Premier Division, Division 1 and Division 2 3 etc.

OPTION 1

Premier League - 10 teams (2012) 12 (2013) 12 (2014)

Division 3 - 0 teams (2012) 8 (2013) 10 (2014)

Super League

Commence Season March 3

End of Minor Round August 25

Finals Series Commencement September 3

Grand Final Weekend of September 24

Premier League

Commence Season March 3

End of Minor Round Weekend of September 24

Key Issues

1. The Pre Season will be based purely on trial games.

2. There will be no Federation Cup This will be replaced by the FFA
Cup.

3. FFA Cup Games will be played on Long Week Ends with no breaks
during the season.

4. Clubs who do not have home grounds available in the early rounds will
either forego their home matches or identify an alternative ground until
their home ground becomes available.

NOTE: The scheduled home team will be required to pay for Referees if games are moved from
home grounds. Further, fixtures will not be reversed if grounds are not
available.

5. Clubs will need to find an additional $4,500 - $6,000 per game in the
Super League. Additional Funds to be found = $36,000 - $48,000

6. Clubs will need to find an additional $3,000 - $4,000 per game in the
Premier League to cover player wages and referee fees. Additional
Funds per game = $36,000 - $48,000

7. The additional wear and tear on playing fields will be significant.

8. The additional workload on volunteers will be significant.

9. Fixtures will be drawn on a home and away basis where possible.

10. Promotion and Relegation will be 2 up and two down.

11. 1st past the post in the Premier League will be Champions

12. All affiliation fees will be paid in FULL at time of nomination.

OPTION 3

Option 3 is to maintain the structure in 2012 as was the case in 2011 with a view to
ensure all clubs have the opportunity to participate in next season knowing all conditions
of the competition structure in 2013.

Option 3

Premier League - 10 teams (2012) 12 (2013) 12 (2014)

Division 1 - 10 teams (2012) 12 (2013) 12 (2014)

Division 2 - 10 teams (2012) 8-10 (2013) 12 (2014).

Key Issues

1. Fixtures will be drawn on a home and away basis where possible.

2. Promotion and Relegation will be 2 up and zero down in 2012.

3. 1st past the post in the Premier League will automatically gain promotion
into the Super League Competition. Winner of the Grand Final (or runner
up if winner of Minor Round is same) will gain the second promotion
position.

4. 1st past the post in the State League will automatically gain promotion into
the Premier League Competition. Winner of the Grand Final (or runner up
if winner of Minor Round is same) will gain the second promotion position.

5. All affiliation fees will be paid in FULL at time of nomination

Pretty happy with all options actually, entry into FFA Cup wont be open to SAASL clubs since they are not FIFA affiliated at this moment; something they need to consider.

personally i don't see how. The SA government bought the stadium off of the SA federation for around $3 million i think, then spent around $27 million upgrading it. I fail to see how it could be valued at anywhere near $100 million tbh.

Stadium redevelopmet costs blew way way out mate, over $40 million at the time. In todays money that would be close to a $100 million project.

When did the government buy it off the SA federation? Selling that stadium was yet another blunder in the game's administration in Australia.

What chance they'll sell it back to a consortium (AU major player?). How much would our Govt really be making off it in terms of leasing (presumably AU are covering all the maintenance costs?)

i thought the $27 million was the blow cost? It would only be the increased land value that would drive the stadium price up, the buying and reno cost would have been written of along time ago by the state.

Metrostars goal ace bows out of finals

Val Migliaccio
The Advertiser
September 03, 2011 12:00am

METROSTARS goal machine Michael Matricciani won't be part of the finals series.

India's Chirag United has snared the striker on the final day of FIFA's transfer window.

After scoring 18 goals from 18 matches, Matricciani says he is leaving MetroStars with a heavy heart before the minor premier faces Blue Eagles in the major semi-final at TK Shutter Reserve from 2.30pm today.

"It's not the best way to end," Matricciani said from Sydney, where he was applying for an Indian visa yesterday before taking up a one-year contract.

"It was a tough decision but I want to give it a go."

Matricciani's new I-League club is based in Kerala.

The former Adelaide United forward was training with the Reds this week before club officials told him there was no room on the roster - unless one of United's players was hit with a long-term injury.

"They said they were happy with me but weren't able to offer me a full-time contract," Matricciani said.

A bumper crowd is expected at Klemzig despite Matricciani's absence.

MetroStars will be playing their first official match in 21 days after winning the minor title while Blue Eagles are fresh from belting Adelaide City 4-0 in the qualifying final.

The winner earns a grand final berth while the loser faces the survivor of tomorrow's Adelaide City and Western Strikers' clash at Oakden in next week's preliminary final.

I guess that clarifies that. Is there new money in the I-League that may see recruitment drives at their various clubs?

Anyone picked up their member kit and tickets today? I was planning to this afternoon but don't want to make a wasted trip if there's problems. Having been burnt with past ticket balls-ups I wanted to see if anyone had blazed a trail first.

I posted this eleswhere
pretty pissed off tbh if this is true

According to RU on twitter all we are getting are our GCU tickets today

membership packs and MV tix available next week.

Hmmm so if the MV game sold out (yeah I know that highly unlikely) then members will miss out.

We were told we would get free tickets but have priority purchase ability on them too. I guess that's if we want to buy for friends.

Still confusing

We were told we would get free tickets but have priority purchase ability on them too. I guess that's if we want to buy for friends.

Still confusing

Bloody typical. I plan ahead because they indicated it would be all good to go on Monday and now this. Why didn't they know this last friggin week and let people know?

The ongoing ability for the club to consistently fuck up tickets and now memberships is a bloody disgrace. Get it sorted!!

Turns out RU was also told when he asked to call tomorrow to see if tix were available

What the fuck???

I even spoke to the ticket manager last week to confirm it would all be available today

sneaking suspicion they are trying to make an extra buck hoping people will buy tickets just in case coz of the whole MV coupled with Kewell thing

Hope that's not the case

Still not acceptable though
They managed to squeeze an extra $60 out of us to become members and can't even sort out a few packs(Im sure there's not THAT many).

It's pretty disgraceful, to be honest. I was told that because Matt (ticketing and membership manager) wasn't there, the tickets for the MV friendly hadn't been printed out yet. I pointed out the fact that tickets were going on sale TODAY, and members might miss out because of tickets not being printed and having to wait until next week??

Sounds a lot like mismanagement right now.

Too true so pretty much it looks like any who bought membership packs won't get any benefit from free entry to the pre season games. however surely you can quote your Account Id and log in at the club store and they can see that you paid your membership so you can get your free ticket without the pack if they are not ready.

Well now I'm completely confused. Rang someone at the club initially (didn't get their name, male) he said the same as you i.e. GCU tickets only available. We then got disconnected (!) and I rang back and managed to speak to someone called Sue. She emphatically ensured that not only was my membership pack available but also tickets to BOTH games were here waiting for me!!!!!!

I indicated what you and I had been told but she said that was a mistake. They were here!

Don't know what to believe now. WTF is going on with admin there?!?

Probably go in anyway as I planned to at least to pick up the GCU ticket and hopefully it's all there. I'll keep the list posted.

Sigh....It shouldn't be this hard
