Respect for coming out when really it's nobodies business what his sexual preferance is.
Hopefully he can find some inner peace and continue to have a good career as a footballer.

Good on him I guess, but it’s 2021 is gayness still an issue for people?

+xGood on him I guess, but it’s 2021 is gayness still an issue for people? It's still a massive stigma for a male sports person to come out. For women to come out is different and the support is clear. I hope that guys who are confused about their identity can look at Josh and find it themselves to be happy. Bravo to josh

+xGood on him I guess, but it’s 2021 is gayness still an issue for people? Sadly yes. LNP in Victoria are all arguing with each other now about being able to electrocute gay people.

+xGood on him I guess, but it’s 2021 is gayness still an issue for people? Unfortunately yes. Homophobia is rife in society and even more so in football. I’m just proud to support a club where there is an environment where players can be themselves without feeling ashamed and ostracised. Hopefully one day in my lifetime, society will be at a point where being gay, bi or trans isn’t seen as so abnormal or strange so coming out doesn’t need to be a thing.

This is big news. positive news. Hopefully it inspires other professional sportsmen to feel more comfortable in their own skin. Good on ya Josh.

Can only admire the courage it took for this young man to come out. Lets hope it helps others in the same position to also show the courage. Well done Josh.

The big questions will be if Josh has to play in the AFC countries where his sexuality is against the law. Either with Australia or Adelaide. Could be big trouble.

As far as I know those countries' laws relate to actual sex acts on their territory, not anyone's stated sexual identity (and certainly not those of foreign nationals). Doesn't make it any more morally acceptable but if he keeps his pants on he won't run afoul of the law there.

Discrimination and censorship wins on this forum. Obviously quite popular amongst the masses when it suits the narrative. Sad day.

This is why Football is down the pecking order in this country. You people think it's a great achievement but it was done 30 yrs ago in RL and if I'm not mistaken in every other sport. Better late than never, I suppose.

Better late than never, I suppose. Really? its 31 years since Justin Fashanu came out, who I believe was the first ever Association footballer to do so?? That didn’t go so well and it’s an interesting comparison to those two events and just how much has changed. Who in RL was it and how has that turned out? Maybe many feel it’s a non-event but Josh certainly didn’t think so nor all the others who feel they can’t be themselves and that maybe it can now be a non-event for them too. To my knowledge, the other codes in Aus aren’t any more liberated than AF.. surely less so now?

No no, I now except Josh baby to be in Barcelona's midfield by next season with this ground breaking revelation and ofcourse, his footballing abilities.... No negativeness at all you see?...

So do we assume that's the end of Mori's coaching career here?

Adelaide United like you've never seen them before...
Carl Veart and the Reds gave us unlimited access in their race to the finals - witness the heartbreak, the triumph, the agony as the men from Coopers Stadium just fell short of reaching the Isuzu UTE Australia A-League Grand Final.
