I to will not be renewing unless the club mends alot of fences. Its all been said before but im just sick of feeling like the club is smiling at us while giving us the middle finger under the desk.
I renewed my membership when we won the spoon so on field form has nothing to do with my choice not to renew. Its just becoming to frustrating watching this skeleton that used to be AUFC con me out of my money for next season.
Ill still goto some home games, but will not be investing in away travel, memberships etc
Its so sad that people who i have enjoyed reading their posts and blogs about AUFC for many years are all singing the same tune as me. The passion has well and truly evaporated. Yeah man, all of this.

Oh well...always next year in sport and let's face it, fans deep down love having a whinge as much as they do celebrating the wins half the time. I agree with most of what you said but what I bolded is the no.1 reason why we deliver the same shit week in and out. Sure no opposition fans like Victory or Brisbane but at least they are successful. Id trade in being liked for success any day of the week and twice on Sundays as for the imploding part, I believe Kossie and Viddie's 'rants' were frustration on what the board allows to go on behind the scenes - the infighting, the division, the cost cutting so we can 'break even' even if it desablises (sp.) the club and not allow us to do what we need to do. However i will admit 99% of us were Coolen cheerleaders back then and most felt his contract extension was a positive thing. Though, the length of his extension was probably more the issue. apart from that im on the same page as you. I feel with our current squad a half decent manager and board would equal success. We have an incredibly talented list for the Aleague yet failed so miserably to play attractive football.

All that shit about playing for the shirt went out the door. In his resignation letter he talked about men who whisper in coridoors or some rubbish like that, yet he didn't have the BALLS to NAME these men. So in actual fact, he became one of these allegded men. Spineless. And he still has the balls to write critical articles about McKain. Good riddance to both Coolen and Kosmina.

And if you would like to re read the original post I quoted, it was talking in general over our journey and I replied as such.... Actually I think it began as soon as the new consortium moved in. Joe Mullen, Carl Veart and Dom Rinaldo had been at the club since the beginning. They were shown the door and replaced with no-name suckholes that probably had NEVER seen a football game, NEVER played football even at recess & lunchtimes at school. I still don't know what Patrillo does, but to me, resigning from Fury to come back to be a big backdoors man has always been a bit sus, but I'm more than ready to apologise if he is a valuable asset. I enjoy going to Hindmarsh and watching the Reds win more than they lost and I really hope that things get sorted during the off season and we get a coach who just knows how to win. At least my local NPL team are doing well and it's free for home games for me now and I can walk to the ground, but nothing matches your home city team being stable & winning.

Well in that same letter Kossie said that he 'feels sorry' for good men like Rob Gerrard, Phil Lounder etc... so i'm assuming we are supposed to work out those people by ommission, which would suggest Griffin as one of those men - who is PART of the board. But that just doesn't work for me. Put up or shut up. Oh well. At least now the season is over and i can focus my attention to more productive things lol

I actually do think some of the players are in fact to blame. Take Vidosic, Kozzie's article was 100% spot on. And after last night's game Vidosic made some remark about basically not working on anything at the beginning of the season and it was the players who carried the team to the lofty heights of second. I'd suggest some of the players had a part to play in Kozzie's departure.
So who is to blame now Dario? MV's tactics or these same players no longer putting in the effort?

http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/sport/football/young-red-awe-mabil-has-his-sights-set-on-manchester-united/story-fndejmex-1226621995072Quote:Young Red Awe Mabil has his sights set on Manchester United
Adelaide United youngster Awer Mabil wants to become a Red Devil. Picture: Sarah Reed Source: adelaidenow
AWER Mabil is desperate to become a Manchester United star - it's a five-year plan, he says.
The Sudanese refugee's bid to join the biggest club on the planet started taking shape when he claimed his first major personal accolade - the national youth league player of the year - in Sydney on Monday night
But not one Adelaide United senior official was present when Mabil modestly accepted the Reds' sole Football Federation Australia award this season.
Mabil seized the limelight with maturity when he was called on stage in front of the soccer industry audience, which included Reds teammates Cassio, Eugene Galekovic, Dario Vidosic and Marcelo Carrusca.
After accepting the award, he revealed he is desperate to get a ticket to watch his Manchester United heroes take on the A-League's All Stars in Sydney in July.
"I would love a ticket if I can get one," Mabil said. "I can't get one at the moment.
"My favourite player is Nani - he's unpredictable and we play in the same position. I like how he plays.
"My goal is to play for Man United. Hopefully in five years I can go to EPL and work my way to Man United."
But Mabil's Old Trafford dream is moving perhaps quicker than expected. He has been earmarked as a possible candidate for Young Socceroos duty at the FIFA under-20 World Cup in Turkey this year.
But the 17-year-old needs all of his documents in order before FIFA rubber-stamps approval for the attacker to represent Australia.
Young Socceroos boss Paul Okon has apparently seen enough promise in the youngster at recent camps. It has prompted a flurry of activity from FFA officials.
On Monday night after accepting his NYL award, Mabil was quietly summoned by a high-ranking Young Socceroos official and told to gather the paper trail of his refugee plight because FFA needed to take his case to FIFA.
"I need to work harder and harder for that Young Socceroos goal," he said. "And I need to get stronger . . . so I don't get pushed off the ball easily in the A-League."
He is also two months away from buying his first car, which will cut his daily three-hour journey to training sessions and back from his Andrews Farm home. Well in =d> shame no official was there on AU's behalf Quote:Meanwhile, Adelaide chief executive Glenn Elliott met senior members of the Adelaide United Members Club Inc. on Monday. The financial members now plan on meeting board members collectively for the first time next month. Interesting...anyone in 442 land going?

Have to laugh. I don't buy the excuse for one second. We regret to advise that due to unforeseen circumstances beyond the club’s control, the 2013, Members Day at Tapestry Wines has been postponed. The event scheduled to take place on Sunday 5 May, will be re-scheduled to Sunday 18 August. With the players beginning their holidays shortly, we are unable to re-schedule the event any sooner. Your RSVP will carry over to the new date, so please advise us if you are not able to attend the new date by Friday 13 July. Either phone 8340 3000 or email info@adelaideunited.com.au. We will email you again closer to the date as a reminder. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused. Thank you for your understanding. Adelaide United Football Club

Came across this on a photoblog site I frequent. If we're looking for a new club badge then this might just about do it. For those who thought 'piss-ant' was an insult, Aurelio obviously knew about the acid-pissing ants that defend themselves in this way. All this time we thought it was an insult and now we know he was talking about a town with a real 'in your face' attitude! Brilliant photo by Joni Niemela.

I have to say I like it. My understanding is that only the extra flourish and the 10 will make it onto our kits for season 2013-14. i.e. not the 'years' and 'est. 2003' I think its better* than: *of course I AM unashamedly biased though;)

Alright, players and positions we need to fill?
Barbiero and Kostopoulos yet to re-sign. Juric loan has ended.
2 spots remaining. 2 visa positions available.
Any players who should be told to look for a transfer out?
Discuss.

Barbiero and Kostopoulos yet to re-sign. Juric loan has ended.
2 spots remaining. 2 visa positions available.
Any players who should be told to look for a transfer out?
Discuss.
Edited by RedsUnited: 13/5/2013 05:57:46 PM Juric wasn't a loan was he? Pretty sure he signed as a free agent.

Quote:Adelaide United FC is pleased to announce it has secured the services of young striker Tomi Juric on a short term contract until the end of the current Hyundai A-League season.
Juric will arrive in Adelaide on Tuesday from Croatia, where he has been playing with 1st Division side NK Inter Zapresic.
Born in Sydney, the 21 year old was plying his trade in Croatia but has taken up the opportunity to return to his country of birth to suit up for the Reds.
Interim Reds Coach Michael Valkanis is excited about adding the 189cm marksman to his squad and is confident he will not long to acclimatise.
“I think it’s a great opportunity to bring in a very good young player who has been playing at a high level in Croatia,” Valkanis said.
“Being short at the top of the end of the park after losing Sergio van Dijk to Indonesia, it’s good to have anther option in attack. He’s still only young but he’s got great potential and is a player who I’m sure will help us in our endeavours to win some silverware this season.” http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/adelaideunited/news-display/Reds-secure-Juric-for-remainder-of-Season-8/60550

Juric?? his re-signing for 2013-14 and beyond(2 yr deal? ) has to be the first order of business for Gombau & Valkanis this off season , he showed a lot in his brief spell towards the end of last season:)

Edited by RedsUnited: 13/5/2013 05:57:46 PM Definitely need a RB, and a younger Cassio type would be good for LB Times up for Barbs. Kosta as a squaddy as he's still young and anyone who scores against Victree is OK in my book. Juric could be ok, depending on how Josep wants to play. I hope he gives Golec an extended run, he could emulate Sasha as he ages IMO. I have a feeling that Vidosic and Carrusca will blossom under this guy. Although we have no idea about JG I just have a gut feeling that he's a gem. Edited by redcup: 13/5/2013 10:31:08 PM

redcup,
mate we haven't had a decent RB since Richie Alagich retired:( I share your optimism of Vidosic and Carrusca under Josep too. To quote a princess from a Galaxy far far away, Help us Josep, you're our only hope=p~ 8-[

Cassio is a risk the guy looked slow and looked like the game was getting past him in his ageing years. Hopefully he can pick it back up will always be a club champion
Golec needs to be a regular CB the guy wants it bad and we performed so much better when he was in the team he is good attacking wise aswell.
RB is a must never had a great one alagich was ok but was not a stand out like cassio was
Midfield we seem to be fine i cant see us changing much there and we shouldn't have to.
i think our attack is ok with djite and jero who i think could do alot of damage playing off each other but another small quick forward would be good to
we got really ripped off with injures last year too should we get another AM too back up carussuca? it seems he will always be injured here and there through seasons, it is what has stopped his career from taking off anywhere.

I disagree on no RB since nomistakavich, Alemao was that player. But as of now we need a RB, Elrich anyone?

Edited by liverpoolfan2010: 14/5/2013 02:52:14 AM Cassio will always be remembered as the true club champion he is, but he is on the wrong side of the age/speed equation:( Time to get ruthless if we want to progress the squad.*throat-slitting gesture* the tribe has spoken...
