redcup wrote:RedeyeRob has been on this forum quite a number of times about Levchenko, and I know a few others have as well. After 16 games of hoping and assessing I have to agree. ( I'm one of those soft ones that like to think everyone needs to be given time )
We have about 11 games to go til season's end. Levchenko still has a reported 4 weeks to recover from a groin strain, however with Usucar and Malik playing so well and Levchenko being the worst of the 3, and I reckon Kossie and Lev would mix like oil & water. I can't see the guy ever in a Red shirt again - another great signing by Rini. So AU has yet another player that has spent more time on the recovery table than kicking a ball - it certainly looks like Giraldi, Agostino & now Lev knew something about our team that we didn't.
How long did we sign this dud for? Only one year. He might come good but with two other good holding midfielders, he's possibly a waste of an import spot. Definitely wont be taking him to the ACL.

Without looking them up i would hazard a guess that Bruce scored most of his goals from crosses from Burns before going to turkey in his first stint at AUFC. Djite is way better with the ball to his feet, just watch how often he and Dario get pissed when the ball comes in at their head height around the box ;) Pretty sure they were crosses but along the ground i hardly ever see djite actually heading a goal. Djite is good with the ball at his feet turns players well but he looses the ball alot to, alot more then VAN D does.

@ redcup... i haven't really called Lev a dud on the field. I'm sure i've stated that i haven't been greatly impressed, but the same can be said for most of the team. I think he's shown plenty of ability. It's his off-field attitude i'm referring to. Consider this:
2 really big duds to wear the red jersey that come to mind were Agostino and Owusu. They were always injured or shown up as well & truly passed it. Yet Agostino, a marquee player, had the humility to take the whole team to an expensive dinner @ Enzo's and was considered a "good bloke". I don't know how many he took, but even if it was just the starting 11, it's a minimum 4 figure receipt. Owusu had the good grace to lend a hand at semi-pro level by doing some assistant coaching at Cumberland United. He also had a hot wife. See the difference in attitudes? I reckon i've over analysed things anyway... that's what you tend to do when you're losing so badly!

Calling Lev a dud was a rush of blood on my part, but Ago & Owusu are valid points and ones I was unaware of, but I can't think of any re-deeming qualities for Dez

Shin was also a dud. A cheap dud but he took up one of our foreign spots. I don't think he ever made it into the Busan I'Park lineup last season and has now disappeared completely.

I do remember that absolute belter of a strike he hit with his left boot that hit the post against the Victory at Etihad one game, that was the only thing of note he did in 2 years.

If I remember correctly, that was only a couple of months before he was released - the game that Sukha hacked down Leckie. I watched that game with an American mate of mine and after that moment he kept saying "Pass it to Shin!"

Agostino was a dud because of injures.
i remembered when he first returned looked sharp passing beating players problem was always always injured which to me was a disappointing for obvious reasons lol.
scored that screamer or a header though lol
was really one of the first bigger name players to come back to

Golec!!! Great tackles, good cross, absolutely no ground speed to get back and cover. CCM owned the right hand side in the second half.

It is why he is a natural CB hopefully will get a chance when cassio comes back maby boogard for golec wait and see. although when casssio is back i would rather golec at rb over watson.

If Snrub comes back then we can have a line up like this: Djite - SVD Dario Barbs - Burns Malik Cassio - Mullen - Boogaard - Golec (why not?) Hugene Bench of Ramsay, Usucar & Caravella Or even better: Djite - SVD - Burns Dario Caravella - Malik Cassio - Mullen - Susak - Dilevski Bench: Ramsay, Usucar, Barbiero

I would not take Golec out of position as a RB. Pure left footer, not much of a right foot on him. He could do well on left side of central defence, and Mullen or Susak as RB options.

RedTillDead wrote:How far is Dilevski off. Can't believe I'm saying this but I'm actually looking forward to him coming back into contention Ditto That half he played before he was injured was brilliant I still find it hard to believe we wont give him a shot at RB over Watson though We have enough central players If we had Cassio AND Dilevski making wide runs from fullback it will only further compliment the narrow diamond we are playing now as we will be a threat on all fronts. The biggest worry vs CCM was the defence. Mullen had an absolute shocker. By that I mean he was completely MIA. Boogard had a fairly off game but was at least getting in the way. Where was Mullen? Worst game he has played since Kossie took over. And I hate to say it as he seems like such a nice kid, but Watson really offers us nothing as a RB. Too often he gets caught the wrong side of the man he should be marking and we all know his only pass is back to Boogard. Every. Single. Time. Very important two games now vs Newcastle and Perth. Thought id scout on fm for a RB and found Marvell Wynne who is best known for being the fastest on fifa but hey its fm EDIT: couldnt find anything of foxsports but according to wikipedia he is signed for Incheon Edited by milan_7: 26/1/2012 09:22:42 AM

Was listening to the boys mullen and djite on the radio today thought i would share a few things.
Djite and it seems most of Adelaide united officials were really annoyed that the bathurst game was classed as a home game for us. Alot of talking in the group was we have regional parts were we could play in SA it should be there and the bathurst game newcastles home game. cock up by the FFA ??
Djite also said Lev is back and traning full time and should be playing this week so should be interesting to see how he goes now.
mullen basically said yes we get tired towards end of games which got a bit of criticism people saying they should man up and push through it play with more guts you cant use tiredness as an excuse.
Mullen wont be playing this week he is off to the olyroos so i have no idea who will replace him with our injuries.
also thought it was funny graham cornes said i do not see how 442 is a diamond it is more like a triangle...
which djite then tried to explain it
to which graham cornes said i think we need a white bored
which made djite reply with no you don't....ahhh thick afl blokes lol which i thought was funny
