He is going back to Barca soon for a good reason. not easy for his wife to fly to Australia with two young kids without help. If you've ever seen young kids on these flights you'd completely understand the necessity. Nothing to do with not settling in Adelaide, quite the opposite really.

Nagel is a fullback who played for Adelaide Galaxy. Would be first choice LB in the Youth Team.

I think we would switch the CB around from what you had. Jero and Cirio are playing closer in when we have the ball and wider without. Fullbacks playing more as defensive wingbacks.

I know we've got one more game but I think we're done with these local teams, time for much tougher opposition. All very well playing them while getting used to the new style but the boys need to step it up against a team that will push them hard.

Not sure I like Malik at CB, although it simply might have been to get him game time rather than pointing forward to him playing there during the season.

So Nagel might be the replacement for Fyfe?

Not surprised that Jeronimo and Cirio are playing as in close to Djite, Jeronimo is not really a winger and with Cirio's goal scoring record from the last season it does not seem he plays as a winger either.

I am also not sure Vidosic and Carrusca offer enough defensively when paired together as the two central midfeilders. Both are attacking midfielders centrally or wide and Vidosic certainly could play as a striker although it is not his best position. This lack of defensive pressure is probably not going to be evident against much weaker opposition.

According to Soccer Stoppage Time, Rocky Visconte and Marko Jesic are both being looked at as replacements for Fyfe.

Rocky is one that I felt always looked alright when he played but hasn't been first choice at either Brisbane or WSW. Being a South Aussie though is a bonus.

Visconte could be okay, not sure about Jesic. However neither are left backs. Perhaps Gombau will be happy with Nagel as back up, or Golec, or he is really going to get rid of Boogard and have Malik as an option at CB so then he can sign Visconte or Jesic plus a LB.

Me neither. I think they're going to go with one Young player and one more experienced when they recruit.

A very bold prediction, Cassio will be off to Brazil with his lawyer at some stage of the season to fix his body due to his age so someone ready made at LB would be better. Saying that there doesn't seem to be the options out there for this.

Rocky is an Adelaide boy and has been keen to play for us for years going by what he's tweeted in the past. He'll be a passionate squaddie at least.

We got the players but i think we will go look for another marquee hopefully.

Would have to be another aussie marquee from somewhere not sure who though.
think we have enough cover but would of been good to keep vidosic.


Golec will be a starter at CB i think in boogs spot. unles mckain plays DM.

I knew our pre-season was going *too* well.:( I'm sad this has seriously bummed me out tonight. I hope there's some good news on the horizon...I really could use it about now.

Realistically, no matter how big our League Salary cap gets in the future, we're always likely to lose a player like Dario to the lure of Europe.

The numbers are telling We got Dario on a free in 2011and we sold him for $400k. He could have left on a free in May 2014. It was good football business IMO.

Sorry for asking but what has happened to Vidosic?

It appears the club agreed to sell him to FC Sion in Swtzerland. fee undisclosed at this stage. Val will spitball a figure soon enough.

Barker-Daish is the player who most suits from within the squad as a direct replacement for Vidosic as a attacking/central midfielder. Still young and not played much so cannot expect him to perform at the same level but unless another player is brought in to replace Vidosic he could be the main beneficiary of Vidosic leaving.

Vidosic was not under a cap we just could not offer him what others could money wise and the all mighty lure of europe lol

close to a WC I think length of season had something to do with it...

that's one thing FFA needs to get on with

Is Zullo getting much game time at Utrecht? Maybe we can arrange a loan deal or something for him? We need a LB/LW and he'd be awesome.
