I doubt that Glory would do the seat thing as NIB also is home to your rugby mob. United are Hindmarsh's only tenants, yet still our govt. decided to give the stadium running to another govt body and the seats are a way of saying to AU " Sorry for raising the rent, please don't leave us " The less said about spending $610+ million on Aussie-rules and cricket then giving them a far cheaper rental, the better! Hmm yeah jlm, I don't think it was you either - It was somebody who was a Victory fan/regular about the boards - he had it as his avatar or sig, can't quite remember. milan_7 wrote:GloryPerth wrote:GloryPerth wrote:jlm8695 wrote:How's Jeggo been going in pre-season? Considering Ange's coaching philosophy and Josep's tactics, how come no love for the socceroos selection? Thought Bruce would be under consideration

I'm loving watching United this season. However I'm a bit annoyed at the selections. Having Flecha start v WSW last night was great to see, because for mine he's a long way above Mabil IMO. Yeah, Mabil's only just turned 19 and will get better, I hear you say.
But he's had enough 1st team action to not be over-awed and to make the right decisions and to compose himself in front of goal. But last night he snatched at a shot - for the umpteenth time - and it sailed high and wide, whereas Flecha scored and also almost beat the keeper at the near post from a tight angle. I fear we're losing Flech, as he's annoyed at the lack of game time. Mabil, on the other hand has a trial where he may be coerced to play with a youth team, and find out that he's not the Messiah any more, and that talented 19 yo's are thick on the ground. If anything I think Kamau is better.
Anyway I'm just blowin off steam on a lazy Sun. arvo, because who Knows what next year holds?

After seeing how wasteful we have been this year, am I the only one that wishes we didn't let Jeronimo go? I'm still willing to give Pablo more time, but we have seriously lacked someone to just put the ball in the net for us. I know he wasn't perfect, but I just can't believe he would have been wasteful enough to not make a difference.

He is getting very limited time off the bench for Newcastle despite their problems.

I said it when I watched Pablo play for the first time against Adelaide City, he's not good enough to warrant a foreigners spot. It's not that he's awful or anything, but he doesn't bring anything that an Aussie doesn't bring IMO. Or maybe it's just because we've been blessed with great foreigners over the last few years. I should be thankful he's not another Slory!
But in saying that, I don't think we should of kept Jero, IMO we need that Bruce style player who's a focal point UNLESS they are good enough to get away with it. IMO we should have gone with Burnsy. But I'm biased. Get keen for tommorow! COYR!

I can see us chasing a striker during January it's going to be interesting, having that big gap in the middle of the season.

Think Pablo needs more time, wish his finishing was a bit better though he's not alone there atm!

Keen but scared at the same time. "This club will never win anything, because of a pissant town" Bollocks. Enter Josep Gombau...legend. #Injosepwetrust I'm buzzing right now, can't believe I got to see us win another trophy....finally:) Edited by vanbasten88: 16/12/2014 11:10:00 PM
