Don't think this has been posted yet - new signing R. Griffiths scored on debut, good news for you guys, is it likely he'll start in Melbourne? Quote:Adelaide United has jumped into second place on the National Youth League ladder after a 1-0 win over Melbourne Victory on Sunday.
NYL: Sydney in seventh heaven----
New signing Royston Griffiths scored the winner for Adelaide in the 11th minute after the Victory defence failed to deal with a cross from Michael De Bono and Griffiths was on hand to dispatch the ball from six yards.
United will meet Queensland Roar in next week's final round clash in what is effectively a preliminary final for a place in the following week's grand final against Sydney FC.
Adelaide will only require a draw against the Roar to make it to the decider.

I'm bloody excited about tonight's game! Still rather hot outside, so hopefully it will cool down before kick off.

Seeing we made a big impact in Asia last year and our league is expanding to a more plausible number of 10, we may attract more Asian talent to our club. We need to get these guys why our reputation in Asia is still hot.

2. Datsakorn Thonglao - Thai national captain - 25 YO. Playing in Vietnamese league. Had a loan spell for Kaiserslautern.

4. Scott Balderson -18 YO. Currenlty playing in England for Stevenage Borough.
5. Players from Italy - Petrillo "our network is getting much bigger"
Wow - some of these guys sound iteresting.
What do you other Red supporters think?
The first two sound good. Yes they do mate. I've got a feeling that the project to fatten up our anorexic strike force for next season is well under way. I'm thinking it will be a couple of top Asian guys as above with Cristiano goal poaching and Younis playing off the bench.

Hey King Billy and RedsUnited, you're twins!
I don't care who the transfer targets are as long as there's a STRIKER - or two. Which means I really, really care a lot. If we go into next year without a proper strike force I may have to cry.

The higher ups in the Reds really have kept it quiet regarding the transfers into the club for next season. Like I mentioned earlier - now that we have cemented our ties with Chinese Super League champions, Shandong Luneng Taishan, hopefully we'll see some Chinese players coming our way.
I know it will definitely bring in the Chinese-Australian demographics into our game. :D

1. 32 Goals in 144 games doesn't sound that great (obviously harder to score in the j-league than the A-league tho) 2. Sounds good. Have heard he's an attacking midfielder/free kick specialist. 3. Someone who knows someone at the club told me a few weeks ago this guy had signed a 6 week loan deal. Obviously untrue but perhaps it wasn't complete fantaasy. His profile on Drogheda Uniteds website looks reasonably good. 4. Wouldn't have a clue. 5. Depends whether it's Pirlo or someone from Serie Q

I've just heard through a friend that a big black coffin has been made for the game.
It has Muscats number painted on it apparently.
Should be interesting to see it passed around the stadum if security lets it in.

for anyone who is going at Hindmarsh the radio said that the game may be either postponed to Sunday or kick off later Sat night if it still stinking hot
ive got a feeling that viddie used 1 up front to get us to the finals and then go 2 for the finals

Edited by RedsUnited: 5/2/2009 07:17:07 PM RU there was nothing wrong with your line up - it could work. Having said that, I personally wouldnt like to see Griffiths start - just out of respect to the guys that have got us this far. It would be a bit of a slap in the face if he did. As much as Viddie plays it safe though he has been known to throw the odd curve ball. I'll never forget the day he benched Cristiano and started Younis - out of nowhere. Or the day Alemao started as striker and we are all sitting there going WTF??? I have faith that whatever line up Viddie puts out there - a lot and I mean a lot of thought has gone into it.

My head's spinning even thinking about it so I'll leave it to Viddie (in whom we trust).
Honestly, I don't think there's a player who wouldn't be up for this one at home. Next week we'll need the brave ones to front up at the Dome and silence the MV fans. I'd like to see us come out of this week with a couple of goals more than MV - and then go the Melbourne and ATTACK.
I reckon Jamo's right about controlling the midfield. Our defence is strong; despite the constant jibes we CAN score; it's just a matter of making sure the opposition get frustrated.
I'll be in Cairo for game two. A city one hell of a lot bigger than Melbourne and the home of the African champions, a team we beat. I'm sure it's a sign.
I'm really sure......really.....
