You might have noticed this is the Adelaide Supporters thread and - as such - you don't belong here. There are manners that apply to guests. Unless you have something useful to say don't bother saying anything. We are actually aware that we have lost 8 games straight to your team.

Loki comes on pretty regularly and talks football. Anytime you want to do that feel free to come back. If you need to gloat we don't need to read it.

As this is a football comment I guess it's worth replying. We did play against you. It was a cracking match. You were better but we were good - apart from the defensive blunders. A fair assessment would be that you took your chances and rode your luck. We didn't.


That's what the match thread is for. Almost all comments are fair on there - especially in the heat of the moment. This is where we go to lick our wounds. :)

forgive me if i am wrong, but was galakovic wearing the captains arm band, even though pantelis started the match on saturday.

why would that have happened, has he been stood down?

Sorry tstead, I only listened to the match - and that was painful enough. Pants to not be offered a new contract. Dropped to the NYL for the rest of the year.

I think pants gave the arm bank to Galekovic when he got subbed. Could be wrong though.

Starting to think Pants has compromising photos of Viddie and a koala or something.

Just remembered I recorded the game, galekovic started as captain. Interesting

Rules out the theory about him only starting because he is Vice Captain.

Galekovic was indeed the captain on Saturday night. I reckon he does a better job being captain than Dodd or Pantelis...

I was gunna come on here and rub it in, but it seems you guys have had enough of that already, we're still puttin up with taunts from those blues tools.

You guys by far have the best keeper in the comp, as a captain you want someone to lead by example, he's the perfect pick.

You were horrible in attack though. Every time you went forward it ended in nothing.
Besides that 20 minute period after you scored United were just shcoking. We could have scored more TBH.

Thanks for that I think we're all pretty angry, dissapointed, pissed off.....etc, with the Reds performance against you guys. and we'd just like to win one - but Roar's record against Sydney is almost as bad............still we MUST win oneday, if the laws of probability are to be believed!

And, yes we've got a great keeper, glad you guys were not giving him game time, but Theo was immense for you, but now Paston......mmmmmmmmm don't know about him, he looked very ordinary vs Sydney

Starting to think about this weeks game - having done my best to wipe last weeks game from my memory bank.

Looking at our last 7 games a pattern is emerging.

W, L, W, D, L, W, L.

So we cant win two in a row and we dont usually lose two in a row.

Hmm - so can we expect Dodd's/Vidmar's usual' we need a big win to put our season back on track' speech this week. :?

Good response to Val's article BU. I am always amazed at how often people scream "change the coach!" like that is the be all and end all of the problems. Viddie and co need to stop talking and start doing. We are back to having a must win game against CCM, again. Sick. Of. It.

Just noticed this post RU! I am from the southern suburbs too, deep south ;) The Brompton food is good, I can say that from experience and from the number of AUFC supporters who go there prior and after the game.

I personally would like to see us grow as a team with Viddie - like ManU did with Ferguson.

Havent been reading this thread nearly as much as I would have liked recently so sorry if a few of the things i say are a bit old.

Galekovic was a great choice for captain in the absence of Dodd and I feel should be given the captaincy next year as Pantellis is at best a squad player and far too inconsistent and as far as I have seen shows no leadership on the pitch. Although pantellis started I thik Viddie knew he would sub him off in the second half anyway so may have chosen Eugene considering this.

He doesnt chase defenders down (Dodd Does) and throws his hands up in the air too much. Lloyd in contrast (not suggesting him for captain just mentioning him) usually acknowledges good passing attempts even if it doesnt arrive where he wants it.

Has anyone heard anything about the consortium led by Alan Young (i only read the crap VM put in the paper) but from what I have read it sounds promising that there is a local interest in running the club long term.

Viddie has shown faith in leckie and we must show faith in Viddie too many non football fans jump on the adelaidenow site and write crap about sacking the coach etc, its refreshing to see real fans dont have that opinion.
