+xAustralia must be pleased with this session - 3 wickets for about 60 runs. Surprised Head is bowling before Marnus? Shot - Taylor square drive for 4. So am I. I see the leg spinner being far more dangerous.

Cummins looking far better today by pitching it up. Getting a hint of reverse as Pattinson and Starc were.

+xnz in real trouble here Not the easiest pitch to be fair. Labu made a mockery of it Is clearly the easiest batting deck in the series. Except for about an hour this morning when the Kooka started reversing. I say Labu made a mockery of his first century but it slowed after that and he moved into his comfort zone.

Slick work by Wade and paine in that run out.
Now Pattinson rubs salt into the wounds of a fairly ordinary day by overstepping and giving the debutant his third life.

Your mates on Whirlpool wouldn’t agree! I missed it, but I’m sure I’ll see a replay.

Their Weight Training forum is different, although many think my four year tertiary trained Exercise Physios know nothing at my gym. I cant believe a big pack of likeminded know nothings have a hegemony. I’ve PMed a few of the FTBL guys to induce them to return who participated in The Ashes. I would go as far to say Paine would only have been exceeded in all round performance by Labu in the Aus top seven over the course of the last year.

Phillips has done well despite three chances.
He was surfing a few a few days ago!

+xPhillips has done well despite three chances. He was surfing a few a few days ago! I also like the look of Astle, although he could look good bowling on a helpful pitch. His leg spinner and googly both spin quite a lot, but maybe he needs more loop. Great hooked 6 from Phillips off the previously unerringly accurate Cummins.

I think this type of pitch, a bit flatter for quicks and helpful for spinners, is needed around Aus for Tests and Shield.

+xWell done to Phillips making 52 NO ATM. Spoke too soon, as Pat C bowls Phillips next ball, hitting the top of off stump with a ball that moved in off the pitch. Cummins 3-44.

When the commentary shows stats where Cummins is bowling the ball, so many are on a good length with an accurate line.

+xWhen the commentary shows stats where Cummins is bowling the ball, so many are on a good length with an accurate line. Cummins is constantly changing the angle too. Sometimes he is very close to the wicket. Other times he can be quite wide of the crease, plus other angles in between. Batters are constantly facing the ball from different angles.

Lyon bowled economically at 28 overs for 60, plus threatened all the time.
He bowls Somerville for 0.

Starc’s current around the wicket short pitched bowling to Henry is far more intimidatory than anything Wagner has bowled!

Slick stumping from Paine off Lyon!
Whirlpool forum majority still want to drop Paine!
Skull O’Keefe says all 5 GOAT wickets from straight over spinner, top spinners or sliders, that didn’t turn much.
GOAT 5 for at Sydney for the first time.

+xWell done to Phillips making 52 NO ATM. He had four lives.. so more than a stroke of luck for the stocky debutant.
