That previous squad was absolutely awful.

While the current squad is better i'm still not sure they can make it out of the group. They should at least be able to win a game.

Interesting how many current Socceroos were in that squad now though looking back.

Maclaren, Taggart, Borrello, Amini, Gersbach.

Fox Sports are considering broadcasting the tournament but haven’t made up their minds yet.

If they decide to pass on acquiring the rights, it’s likely there will be no stream AT ALL. Not even an AFC-ran YouTube stream like we had for the qualifying tournament.

Please help the cause by tweeting Fox Sports producer @NickBruce66 and any other Fox Sports talent to kindly show them that there is a market demand for these games. We still have 2 days of campaigning 🙂

Apparently Fox Sports will not be showing the games unless they make the knock stage, so much for their commitment....

Why does Australian always has gets the short straw when other countries in this tournament will be telecasting it's games whilst we are still stuck trying to find steams in this day of age, Optus sport should buy all the content for all junior sides if I'm honest.

Overall we lacked quality but we have to remember how a poor of a coach Vidmar was.

A lot of the new batch look to be technically better compared to this group as well.

This is from Davutovic 06 Jan

"Melbourne City midfielder Denis Genreau (shoulder) is the only player set to be unavailable for the Iraq game. The other teams in the group are Thailand and Bahrain."

Why is Genreau even at the tournament if he is not fit and suffering from a shoulder injury?! Surely Cameron Devlin from phoenix or Thurgate from the Jets are wholly suitable replacements in the midfield. What a wasted spot.

Pitch looks good. Only excuse now is lack of time in camp.

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.
