It’s difficult to imagine any of these no hopers at Copa America. We’d get utterly humiliated. This team would get slaughtered by Bolivia, let alone anyone else.

And to think Arnold stated this is a try out for some squad slots and they come out with this lazy performance. Disgraceful. At least leave it all the pitch.

It’s situations like these that make me feel that having a rigid national system is more stifling than having a flexible manager that plays to the strengths of his players...

They look like a team who has never played together or any football. Misplaced passes, easy turnovers, useless crosses.. surprised it is only 1-0.

Deng hasn’t played in over a month because he’s been injured. He’s since had to fly to Thailand and play. The boy should’ve been left at home.
Good goal!

The perils of spending a week or so in camp, while your opponents are together for heaven knows how long. Oh we scored now, 1-1. Carn lads
By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Get in! Daggers. 1:1. Finally. We take the ball in midfield and go direct. Pisocopo threads Daggers through and scores by shooting across the face of goal into the corner. Finally some direct play.

Outstanding goal. Good direct play from Piscopo. Outstanding finish from D’Agostino

Piscopo again, only shining light. D’agostino with the tidy finish...does anyone else have an irrational dislike of D’agostino? His mug is just so punchable

Goal stands! Was fearing those twice tackles but the ref waved both away which surprised me. Thailand go all out from kick off and win a dangerous free. Not a free. He's fallen there.

The collapsing on the ground by the Thais and the Iraqis is a little frustrating but the AFC and it’s refs love this. Need some European refs.

Wait, what’s happening? Did we score or not? My stream still says 0-1...
edit: oh, seems that my stream is about 5 minutes behind.

Deng is absolutely abysmal. Is he injured?

Piscopo has looked really good. An awesome half from him.
Other than that... Wtf is with this schoolboy error shit. Moirdoukatas, Deng, Ryan under no pressure just passing the ball to the Thai players??

Agostino should go to a Mariners, Adelaide, Phoenix. No way you would get game time in a Popovic team if your under 25. That is unless your related to the coach.

It’s interesting how D’Aggers always seems to perform well for the Olyroos but not quite very well in club land.

Duncan certainly has potential. Ryan would be so much sharper with match time.

Don’t mind with Piscopo at least he tries to beat his man. It doesn’t always work but it is hard for a defender to deal with. We can thank the Italian academies for him.

Duncan Bouman Laws what a scrappy bumbling mess. Duncan keeps turning the ball over. I expected more considering all they hype surrounding these 3 players

1-1 HT
Hopefully we can pinch an early goal in the 2nd and see how the Thais play with us ahead
The Iraq-Bahrain draw earlier has us looking Ok if we draw tonight and win in the final match, but it would be nice to get the 3 points.

Some of my thoughts:
negatives: Deng, M., Gersbach, Laws, Duncan (sadly, looks off the pace). weird passes and terrible defence.
positives: Piscopo is consistently playing well and looks like an exciting prospect. Very Arzani-esque. D’Aggers’ goal (even though I don’t like him much). Italiano looks lively and dangerous if he can click with others. Those Thai kits look so good! Simple, but very classy. :)

Every touch the Thais go to ground. That is certainly a challenge.

Should be a yellow for Thailand there. How I wish we had Souttar and and Arzani.

Ryan with a weak left foot to the keeper.
