Really don’t know what to expect.
WU have been up and down all season whereas Adelaide were in poor form before winning last week.
This could be the game that defines our season. If we win, it could reboot our season but if we lose, we’ll know last week was a false dawn.

NFI about this one. Two very inconsistent sides who are prone to concede cheap goals. Will be interesting to see if Adelaide can build momentum from last week, or if it was just them lifting at home against their main rival and will now go back to playing dire football. I'll say 2-2

I'd argue there's been 2 or 3 games this season where we've been very unlucky to not at least grab a point.

So, this has become a must-win game for Adelaide then.
“must-win” or the Adelaide supporters on this site will have a weeks worth of being unable to post on the BRFC forum

Pity, it's become an entertaining game on the pitch.
Shame the pitch being in the middle of a half-demolished suburban AFL training ground makes us look like a joke.

Crowd looks sparse but at least it is not a massive stadium. People are a bit too far from the action though.

Can those people on the far side hill even see anything? It’s so far and it’s hardly elevated. I’m not being a smartass when I say this but I see no reason why this couldn’t be played at green gully’s ground.

Yeah I've been feeling sorry for those people opposite the camera up against the fence 50 metres from the touchline, straining their eyes directly into the sun. Hope they didn't pay for their tickets. I haven't seen a full shot of the western stands yet (or what's left of them these days) but it seems this crowd could easily fit in at Green Gully or Somers St. And the word I heard is that Knights were happy to let WU use their ground for free for one season, if they paid to upgrade the back of house offices and change rooms, etc. Madness if they passed on that.

Still prefer this than their usual stadium. Isn't this closer to their future stadium? Don't know Melbourne geography. I've been to Kardinia park for football a fair few times (Victory, Matildas and WU's first game and our away game) and sat in different places in different stages of the redevelopment. I've only been to Whitten Oval once to watch Boca Juniors train about ten years ago, but I would 100% say Kardinia Park is a better venue for football in every measure, and parts of the latter venue have been demolished since then in favour of office space, I believe. The one thing Whitten Oval has is that it's in Melbourne proper, although more "inner west" than WU could claim as their exclusive base. Victory was all set to set our academy and women's base just 1.5km away until the nimbys ruined everything. Obviously Kardinia Park is in Geelong, who's CBD is about 80km from Melbourne's CBD. I just measured the "as the crow flies" distance from both stadia to WU's proposed venue and got 42km for Kardinia Park and 23km for Whitten Oval.

Yes I'm watching because I actually support one of these two sides lol. Did I say they didn't start well? And Adelaide have completely come into the game and scored 3 good goals. Definitely the better side thus far.
