+x+x+xWondering what people's thoughts are on this - not sure if it's the same in all States. Once we open borders etc at 80%, if you are a contact you still have to quarantine 7 days if you are double vaxxed. This realisation is only just starting to filter down to friends of mine etc. The govt. claims they will be more sensible about who is considered a contact so i can only hope beyond hope that means that if you just happen to be in the same supermarket as someone that had it you WON'T have to quarantine for a week. If it's just close contacts like ppl in your household then it could be ok I guess. On a similar note, basically everyone I know that isn't on a safe salaried job has stopped checking in places because they are so scared of having to not work for 2 weeks just because some idiot in the same Westfield Plaza had covid. Though they will have to also use cash or they will have their credit numbers traced apparently so it probably won't work I can't say I blame them really. The aren't conspiracy guys and are all double vaxxed and level headed people that just can't lose more work. If double vaxxxed and you return a negative test I dont think you should quarantine, but I understand it. I reckon a negative test at 1 and 5 days should be enough. yeah, I don't check in ever. For a few reasons, but one being I don't want to quarantine for two weeks because some bloke 20 metres away ordered a coffee yeah that's literally why so many people are stopping now. It's not just the "govt wants to know what I do" crowd anymore so it's gonna get interesting. Though my friend who is generally well informed did say they check the shop's bank statements for credit card numbers to assist tracing now. Have not had that verified but he isn't generally a shit talker. Not saying that's good or bad, just saying it might not help in the end Cash is king ;) yeah I know people that if they’re just paying for petrol, grabbing a takeaway coffee or something else quick they won’t bother checking in. Not worth it

Not worth it facial recognition from CCTV footage is very accurate now it will take a little longer but you will be matched with driver's license photographs the South Australian government has already used this to locate close contacts at exposure sites.

+x+x+xFront page of news.com.au. The Daily Telegraph? Nothing. Absolute nothingburger If so, release all the advice from Kerry Chant. Brad Hazzard has supressed it. The government isn’t obliged to act on every single piece of advice from the chief medical officer. Especially when it comes to imposing lockdowns, which destroys businesses, exacerbates loneliness and mental illness , separates families, dwindles saving accounts etc there’s more at consideration than just savin’ lives. I’d much rather these decisions to go the democratically elected cabinet than a single overpaid bureaucrat.

We're at 87% first dose so we're pushing 90%. There are some metropolitan areas that are straggling behind a bit though.

My concerns about the kids is still there but it's tempered a bit by school holidays + our leaders have made the call so it's on them.

I'm anxious about the kids too, but it's been 1 month and ok so far. Covid in students are being picked up, and schools are being closed for a few days for deep cleaning (with contact tracing for certain kids to isolate). Seems to be working.

It's hard to know what they're doing with cases in schools here. A harsh reading of the rules would say as kids under 12 are unvaccinated then if there's a case the kids will need to home quarantine for 2 weeks. How they determine who's a close contact of a case is a bit unknown for schools as well. We only have 3 weeks until its all done for the year anyway and by the time they're back we should be 90% double vaxxed here and the rules will change for sure.

the TGA are waiting for the FDA trial to complete of 5-12's then they will approve jabs for everyone in schools which should close that loophole

Now without lockdowns, if they open up to non vaccinated, it will be interesting to see what batshit stuff the protestors pivot to next.
That video posted here of them ranting about Daniel Andrews is under parliament in robes doing sacrifices 😂😂

My guess is paedo networks that run parliament. After all the story they had going around at the start was covid lockdown was a cover so they could dig up 100s of kids bodies from burnley tunnel without anyway busting them.
