+x+x+xMy guess is paedo networks that run parliament. After all the story they had going around at the start was covid lockdown was a cover so they could dig up 100s of kids bodies from burnley tunnel without anyway busting them. Fack me Jaysus. He's taking the piss mate. I'm serious. It's a legit conspiracy. The woman on that video refrenced it when she talked about tunnels, I had people share the post in whatsapp messages to a group chat I am in.

So this new variant is fucked. Evolved in Africa as predicted amongst the vast masses of unvaccinated people. Europe back into lockdown, travel bans etc. We're never coming out of this fucking restrictions.

not just that and as we know, the african one those infected had been moving around weeks before authorities finally find out. So how many have travelled here there everywhere. IMO we should be making sure pronto of current OS arrivals even though vaxxed. To be sure to be sure, security on every single person intending coming to Oz needs to be double checked where they were couple weeks prior to flying.

I do wonder what the protocol would be for getting into the country when things open up. - Double vaxxed - Test before boarding - Test after boarding - Test on day six of arrival?

we are not going to be able to stop this variant getting into the country forever
until we reach 100% vaccination rates, we must return to closing borders to international arrivals
between now and when we open up, tougher measures need to be take to deal with the vaccine hesitant and remaining anti-vaxxers

Disagree with closing the borders. Doing a bit more reading today they're saying the new variant is more transmissable but the symptoms are milder.

Disagree with closing the borders. Doing a bit more reading today they're saying the new variant is more transmissable but the symptoms are milder. EU countries are making it mandatory with no exceptions why cant Australia? There are 2 ways to make this decision. As a herd-animal, "Such and such a country is doing it, so why can't we". That is herd mentality. As a person that reviews the science, and is open to his assumptions being challenged by new data. For example, here a journal pre-print from doctors at the CDC. Their summary paragraph states: https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.11.12.21265796v1.full-text“In this investigation, we found no statistically significant difference in transmission potential between vaccinated persons and persons who were not fully vaccinated. Therefore, our findings indicate that prevention and mitigation measures should be applied without regard to vaccination status for persons in high-risk settings or those with significant exposures." Here's an article in the Lancet: https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6736(21)02243-1/fulltext#coronavirus-linkback-headerIn the above Lancet article, Dr Günter Kampf said: "… the term pandemic of the unvaccinated, … this view is far too simple. … There is increasing evidence that vaccinated individuals continue to have a relevant role in transmission. … It is therefore wrong and dangerous to speak of a pandemic of the unvaccinated." Here’s another article, this time from the Harvard School of Public Health, the article titled “Increases in COVID-19 are unrelated to levels of vaccination across 68 countries and 2947 counties in the United States” Dr S. V. Subramanian wrote: “At the country-level, there appears to be no discernable relationship between percentage of population fully vaccinated and new COVID-19 cases in the last 7 days (Fig. 1). In fact, the trend line suggests a marginally positive association such that countries with higher percentage of population fully vaccinated have higher COVID-19 cases per 1 million people.” https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10654-021-00808-7And yet, in spite of medical scientific argument, there is a majority of people in society whose method of decision making is, "If they can do it, why can't we". It is extremely rare to find people who base their decisions entirely on facts and data. Most people make decisions based on emotions - and the greatest emotion is the fear of not being among the majority. For most people, if the majority is heading in one direction, for those types of people, no amount of data and evidence will turn them away from following the majority. To them, the "if they're doing it, why can't we" is so ingrained that it is virtually impossible to persuade them otherwise. In any group of people, there will be people whose reasoning says, "If those other people do it, why can't we?" Notice this mantra, "If NSW and New Zealand can do it, why can't we?" Herd mentality. And if you explain this to someone who actually thinks, reasons and speaks like that -- and does not know how else to frame their reasoning - they will likely get furious, because they feel it is an insult to be accused of herd-thinking. Yet, logically, the statement - "If they can do it, why can't we?" -- is the essence of how to spot a herd-thinker. Why can't you just review the above evidence, and make a decision based on scientific data, not just where the crowd is taking you?

EU countries are making it mandatory with no exceptions why cant Australia? Just because the EU are making it mandatory, doesn't mean we have to. First, there may be people with medical reasons for not getting the vaccination. Second, we already have high vaccination rates. What is herd immunity? It's definitely not 100%. Third, even with 100% vaccinations, you still get breakthrough cases and there are also variants.
