+x+x+x+xWell it got me. Wasn't super sick, thanks to being triple vaxxed it was a bit of congestion and a sore throat that came and went for a couple of weeks. Kids got it too and were actually a bit worse than me but still fine. Took some time out to rest up while in isolation so I'm all good now. Good to hear bud.
Yeah my missus twice in three months. She hasn’t had a booster though.
She was very sick first time. Not so bad the second.
yep x 2 or 3 mcjules..... Glad ok and fam and for any of you. Twice in months ffs, talk about bugga. My own just been my eldest son and fiance, he struggled for a few weeks, knocked him about alot yet his fiance went through mildly and over and done with. Touch wood the wife and I haven't experienced it. Keep safe people. +1 Take care everyone. Pretty sure we're all gonna get it eventually. Thanks guys. I was extremely lucky with the timing of mine I feel so my anecdote is not indicative of how everyone will go. No one I have had recent contact with has been infected (symptomatically at least) so not really sure where I got it. Could well have been at the Melbourne City game a few weeks ago!

Given asymptomatic omicron infections could be as high as 70% I'd say a few of us who think we haven't had it actually have. Yeah I'm hoping that's me. My son tested positive but it was at the time when there were no RATs and I wasn't lining up for a 5 hours for a PCR to find out. Thought I'd test if I had symptoms but fortunately I had none.

She (QLD premier) said the initial modeling suggested 3,000 to 5,000 hospitalisations and 300 to 500 people in ICU. "Instead we've had a peak of 925 in hospital and 71 in ICU," she said.
Hey wow, another expert modelling that turned out to be out by about 70%. But didnt stop this prediction by their CHO just today "Our original modeling suggested that up to 50 per cent of the Queensland population could be infected with this virus by the end of February and I think that's very credible." So thats almost Australia's current total but for just Queensland by the end of this month, despite cases trending downwards nationally. Time to roll out the restrictions again as we obviously want to avoid that. Let me guess - face masks?

It's all good. In SA Marshall is removing restrictions a month out from the election :hehe::hehe: If he had waited another week or so it might have seemed suspicious after this from his leaked e-mail: "he is prepared to advocate for the return of Private Functions to a capacity of 150 with dancing & stand up drinking ... and support stand up consumption inside and outside". But the document details that in return Mr Marshall would "welcome some positive industry comment and support if he is successful in persuading the Police Commissioner to support these change".

This seems just a good place as any to ask this question: I'm heading to the UK and Europe in May/June for a mates wedding and intend on stopping in on a few countries, potentially Indonesia/Malaysia on the way back but haven't decided yet. Does anyone know, beyond smart traveler a good website to check the requirements of getting into countries? Obviously I'm looking to avoid any sort of quarantine

Yep credit to the government Smart Traveller is pretty comprehensive but for certain countries it just kind of blanks out and gives you a "it might be hard to get in" warning. Malaysia and India are out by the looks of it. Nepal or somewhere like that might be on the cards 😎 All I know is I want one last trip away before I settle into being a boring old idiot but Covid just won't piss off 😞

Will try and find a link.

I saw on the news last night that SA has the highest COVID death rate in the country. I know there's mostly old people there but I think it may have something to do with the 'relaxed' Liberal Party policies in the run up to the election.

Feeling for the people of Canberra today. 98% vaxxed, one of the highest in the world, and descended upon by the nation’s antivaxxers.

My biz partner and I are looking to work on a travel schedule, Thailand checking we were advised still bit of hassle getting in - worried the goal posts could change whilst your in the air is another. So damned if you do damned if you don't. Talking to one of our Chilean clients this morn, asked him whats its like for I like to get there as well. He said don't do anything for now, his fam is infected, place still has many infections. Such a PIA, yes it really is holding back so much in life.

Ughh That first bloke is so typical of these sort of rallies and of protests. I feel like I've seen him a hundred times. Minor variations to his appearance, yet always middle aged, deranged and aggressive.

Thoughtful article about these nutjobs...Canada also has them.. Why the word 'freedom' is such a useful rallying cry for protesters
The word has become common among far-right groups, experts say
Concept of freedom can be used to reject equality

In fact only ~70% of aboriginals are vaccinated, with whites coming in a first place with 92% vaccinated. Of course they trot out the usual bullshit excuses, “systemic racism” blah blah, desperately trying to shift blame to “unemployed white males” to insulate the indigenous community from any form of criticism. Just imagine if that statistic was reversed, the relentless amount of shit white people would cop for putting “lives at risk”. Also there’s no such thing as “genuine normal protests”, there are just protests, and they span a myriad of reasons. Whether they are “genuine and normal” depends on your perspective. For instance some people think protesting losing their job and basic freedoms is a valid reason to protest, while others think some black doofus who got choked by a cop in the US is a valid reason to protest (during the height of the pandemic). Its not “international trumpist thangs” that are dangerous its little stalinists like you who wish to subvert peoples democratic right to protest because you dont agree with their message.
