Confirming @lewieatlarge's report from May, Grant Brebner acknowledged in his press conference today that Andrew Nabbout has an agreement with Perth Glory.

I wonder when Ikon is due back. Could be a decent front 3 with Ikon and Nabbout on the wings, with Fornaroli in the middle.

Mmm good pick up for PG. 2nd time left MV.So you guys didn't want him Pala ? or probably better offer but HTF have they come to agree on dollars with so much in the air makes you wonder. Funny how this moves on whilst Sage has been bleeding poor and wanting out.

not unhappy. he just couldn't handle the pressure of performing at a bigger club. he'll do better at PG. +xStrange move why didn’t he go to Newcastle? i would assume money. we signed him 12 months ago because the Jets didn't even make an offer.

Nabbout and his agent had a verbal agreement with the Jerks when he left for Japan that his first call if/when he came back to the AL would be to the Jerks to see what they could offer. MV offered him a return to the league, unprovoked. Tony Rallis, Nabbout's agent, didn't bother contacting Lawrie and the Jerks as he knew with certainty that the Jerks had no funds to match this. They powered ahead with the MV deal, with no contact to the Jerks. Which, to be fair, the Jerks could not match MV's deal in reality. The Jerks did not have marquee wages to spend, whereas MV did. So while the Jerks were upset the agreement to be at least kept in the loop was negated, as they found out basically as the deal was agreed anyway, there was nothing they could have done to change the outcome anyway. Lawrie has confirmed this entire story in detail.

We wanted the good Nabbout. I don't know about how the talks went but I assume that the Perth offer would be better financially, but I don't know for sure. He had obviously lost his confidence and wasn't enjoying his football since he returned, he barely celebrated any of the goals against Perth (even his own) and was practically pushing other players away after Rojas' second goal. That lack of confidence seems to affect his performance, and vice versa, creating a bit of a vicious cycle. Obviously this is speculation, I don't know the guy, but just my educated guess. Hopefully he can be happier with his football in the future, which is the best thing to hope for in any breakup!

I was told Perth were after Nabbout due to Ikon leaving. Interesting to see if Ikons leaves, if not Ikon Bruno and Nabbout will be lethal. Decent signing, but i'd like to see more "Perth" players in the squad but I can't think of any other decent attackers apart from Taggart.

Tbh Poppa would be the kind of manager that could 100% get the best out of Nabbout. This season he was a shell of the player he was at the Jets when his confidence was sky high.

Why do people constantly make out players are martyrs on this forum. Most likely his agent told Newy it’ll cost them $600k for Nabbout. And they said thanks.. but no thanks. It’s all about the money..money.
