Hrustic starting against Fiorentina

By now, American Samoa must have realised that Australias 22-0 win over Tonga two days earlier was no fluke.

Hrustic off on ‘62, had some tidy moments and looks like his game is tailor made for Serie A, but my god the game was very scrappy/sloppy and neither team has been able to string together any meaningful possession.

3 without a win now.

You mean he is human?

Ange is a good coach but the notion that he will take Celtic to ECL glory is fanciful. He will do well to win the league and maybe the latter stages of the Europa. Anything more than that is just fanciful. It’s also OK to drop points to non Rangers teams occasionally. Celtic had 80% possession but due to the nature of his squad and Angeball tactics there will be games where they struggle to score goals.

Rough day for Ryan in a 2:1 loss. Poor defence allowed the second one where he got a hand on it but it deflected inwards.

The penalty at the end seemed to be taken back due to the ball not being correctly on the spot. Did the shooter halt his run up?

Great goal with his non-preferred foot 🎯

Lucky first touch and was then allowed so much time to readjust his balance and prepare for the strike.

The shot was good but it wouldn't have gotten to the point of shooting in the world cup.

I like Taggart btw

Just providing a follow up to a story that was published in 2020. Fernando Rech's son was signed as a 17 year old to an academy in Brazil.  His name is Rafael (known as Rafinha!) was born in Brisbane and has dual nationality.  Anyway, he made his senior debut in Brazil for Juventude a few weeks ago.  Has had a tough run with injury, missing all of 2021, yet this year, played a few games in the U20's, before being promoted to the U23's and now the seniors. Haven't had a chance to see any of these recent performances, but pretty interesting story for those that remember his father.

Mooy as an No.6 doesn’t fit with that midfield, they needed Hatate and O’Riley who can break the lines.

Anyway I don’t think they played well, it’s a good time to lose when its the international break for the next 2 weeks.

Tete Yengi with another 2 assists for VPS 3-2 win in Finnish league. That’s 6 goals and 7 assists in 22 games.
Very weird that he was not called up to under 20s camp in Spain as he meets age eligibility for this tournament and next years u/20 Asian cup and u/20 World Cup
Maybe the Aussie coaches think the Finnish league is an absolute backwater. Interesting

Thanks for the update. I vaguely remember some hype around this kid before his injuries.
Has their ever been discussions if he would be interested in playing for Australia. Surely he knows his chances of breaking into Brazilian national team are very low.

Finland is a country of 5 million that loves hockey and happens to have a pro football league. It's a 1 team league affair, HJK, and it's not in the top 100 UEFA ranking. Their pro league has only been running around 10 years longer than the a-league. Some of the clubs have next to 0 foreigners as well. Backwater, yep.

He doesn’t - he’s too old by 3 years. Current U20s are 2003 born or younger. Yengi is 2000 born.

In fact Yengi is actually too old even for the Olyroos (2001 born and younger).

Full game for Elder in a 3-0 loss. He didn’t actually play too badly despite his FotMob rating. I think he was actually the most solid of the defenders. There was some absolutely terrible defending for Hull, but none of it was really him. The RCB was terrible.
No Kuol for Stuttgart.

Two unbelievable brain explosions from their No. 6 gifted Swansea two of the goals. I agree that Elder put in a reasonable effort. Pity that Hull, WBA and Boro all seem to be struggling at the bottom of the Championship.

Highlights. He's heavily involved in VPS' attacking play and creates a lot of chances.

Also Transfermarkt has him down as having 6 goals and 9 assists in the league as well as another goal in the cup. I'm going to sound like a parrot soon but I really rate him. I know the league isn't amazing but if a player was putting up these numbers in league 2 I would think he would be getting bigger raps.

Yeah but Celtic fans are idiots (coming from a celtic fan). Theyve been saying this about mooy since he started - in the most part they have a very old school british/irish fightball mentality when it come to football. I swear if Pirlo himself had of come through the ranks at celtic he ouldn't have made it, branded too slow and ponderous.

Taggart - a very good link up player upfront and combination play when attacking. However, not very good at pressing and scoring with chances.

Duke- very good in the air , have ability to press hard. He is not very good as a link up player. He can disappear during the game.

McLaren - a good proacher type of  striker. Right place at the right time. He can press better than Taggart.  Terrible at holding the ball and linking up play.  He can score anywhere anytime. Often quiet or dissappear against big team.

Cummings - not too sure

Taggart not very good scoring with chances?! His finishing has always been excellent! Him and McLaren have been the best finishers in the A league in the last 10 years. McLaren's off the ball proably better than Taggs, Taggs more skillful on the ball and able to join in the buildup and interplay

Mooy is painfully slow at this level.

He's slowed down since Brighton. The times when he was higher up running rings was so much fun. Ange wouldn't pick him if he wasn't up to it though. St Mirren picked a good time to beat Celtic. Plenty of Celtic fans have enjoyed Mooy's ball work so far.

Mooy is painfully slow at this level.

I don't think it's the level it's the style of play. Scotland is fast paced football and Celtic is Scottish football combined with angeball.

Mooy wasn't the sole reason they lost to St Mirren. They were poor across the park and didn't look any better in the second half after he was off. St Mirren were great as well, they played a very low block and held their lines really well. It really stifled Celtics attacking runs and they weren't able to get in behind like they normally do.

It ends after the end of the Finnish season on December 31. Ipswich are playing well and scoring a lot. They will be heading up if they keep this up so hopefully Yengi gets a run when he gets back.

Did U watch Cerezo Osaka every week? Taggart missed a lot of easy shots though he did scored some important goals. His strength is that he got involved in Cerezo build up play which is valuable to the team.  Cerezo always have to 2 upfront and they do high pressing but U can see another Japanese guy did press better than him. Everyone have strengths and weakness but this is something he needs to work on.
