Everyone must of missed it, but Alex Robertson scored a goal for Man City u18's yesterday. 6 goals from 3 games - not too shabby. Rukavytsya scored a double overnight. Would the Israeli League on par with the A League?

That's 20 goals in 21 games in all comps for Ruka.

Have been criminally overlooked the last couple of seasons. Ruka has suffered from not being played in his preferred position everytime we've seen him for the roos or in the A league (he plays much better up front) and with holland he's still suffering from the few bad games he played for the roos in the 6-0 losses way back in 2013 and a couple of qualifiers (where the whole team played poorly anyway).

+x+x+x+x+x+x+xJason Cummings has joined Dundee FC. He is Scottish. he's still eligible for socceroos. But he has yet to play either, so he is not a plastic Aussie yet. Give it a rest Go start up your own Aussies through heritage Abroad thread. This is for Australian footballers playing abroad. Calm down mate. This Cummings guy isn't good enough to play for the Socceroos anyway. Sunderland is obviously referring to Souttar & Boyle - "the plastic Aussies". Both have Aussie parents, which makes them Australian & eligible obviously to play for the Socceroos. Boyle has probably dropped down the pecking order anyway, so can't see him playing to many more games for us Defo hasn't dropped down the pecking order - who takes his place now?! Arzani has fallen off the map so too leckie, Hrustic barely playing that only leaves Mabil and sapce for another in form winger playing games and scoring goals ... oh wait

Pretty sure somebody mentioned Ricardo Rizzo on here recently. Keeper at Cerro in Uruguay, top level. He made his debut start last night.

True about Ruka. He and Holland unfortunately reek of the Holger era but we should never write anyone off. Holland certainly has improved immensely at a time we were blessed for midfielders and the coach had their preferred players. I personally have been very impressed with Jeggo for the national team. I'm sure Holland would offer stiff competition if given the chance. It's worth listening to the fox sports podcast on his relationship with the national team. 6 years ago yesterday we won the Asian Cup and sadly Luongo never kicked on. He has injuries often enough but that stupid QPR move stifled everything. I think mentally he struggled a lot not getting a minute in Russia.

Ruka is Maccabi Haifa's 2nd highest scorer of all time with 69 goals. One Yossi Benayoun 4th with 50 goals. The all time leader for the club is Yaniv Katan with 91 goals.
If Maccabi go on to win the league this season fair chance to say that Ruka will be considered a legend of the club

Ruka was decent but didnt light the a league up last time he came here. That probably affected him. Still he was a dominant player in a promoted buli-2 club and played a bit of bundesliga. So he is probably better than post ACL robbie kruse and maybe nearly as good as leckie. Dominating a league that is probably similar to the spl is nothing to be sneezed at either. At 33 he will be getting on by the next world cup mind you. Maybe its not too late for him

Surely a young gun breaking through is a good thing? 16 year olds have scored in the EPL, La Liga and Serie A.

+xJay Rich-Baghuelou starting for Crystal Palace U23, currently up.2-0 against Norwich City. Ends a 4-0 win for Palace with JRB sent off in the closing seconds from a second yellow due to what the match report on the club's website called a cynical challenge, but frankly, good on him for still having the fight in him for his team at that point, even if it's strategically naive.

He really should have gone to Europe instead of another Championship team.

Caleb Watts making the bench for the first team again in a 0-1 EPL loss to Aston Villa on the weekend, not sure if it's been reported on here yet.

Mooy probably wouldn't have played in the EPL had he not helped promote Huddersfield from the Championship. Plus, before he had this latest long term injury, Mass Luongo was showing some 2015 form, with fans raving about his performances. I'd be wrapped if we could get another 5-10 Aussie players in the Championship, vying for promotion to the EPL.

+xIzzo is fit again and will make his Xanthi debut while Brillante is also starting. Callan Elliot and K Pop are on the bench. No idea why Jurman isn’t playing Turns out the team sheet that they posted on Twitter was completely wrong so Izzo still hasn’t made his debut yet.

I have often thought that players performance goes backwards for the roos after moving to the championship its too many games a year with a huge emphasis on physicality (although it has become more technically better the last half a dozen years). Remarkably League 1 seems to be a better preparation - probably because its slightly shorter season.

The Championship is tempting because of the money it can offer, its the best 2nd division in the world ahead of the Bundi.2, Segunda Division and the Serie B. I remember Luongo had interest from Sevilla after the Asian Cup but he was at Swindon Town in League 1 during that time.
