+xI hate to rain on this parade but the standard of the SPL is not that impressive if you take Celtic and Rangers out of it, im just hoping this entry level moves the boys have made over there are capable of going into higher standards in the future from that. Just seeing someone like Atkinson who did so well back here and in the olympics and now doesnt look like the same player at Hearts is quite underwhelming and questions me if players actually improve from playing over there. The standard of the mid and lower table teams is comparable i'd say. What it does is gives players the opportunity to play more games at that level, occassionally against a much higher level, in a league that is more heavily scouted. I think you need to be conscious that your playing style fits if you make that move and it won't suit everyone. It's been great for Mooy, Rowles, Devlin, Baccus, Jeggo.

Come to think of it, how many aussie players went to europe and their performances noticeably improved for the roos leckie and kruse before the latter did his acl I reckon rogic was better before he left, as was even mooy.
We saw at the world cup the a league is food preparation for the top level. When we have a second division we should probably try and keep as many players as we can here to make the level as high as possible.
The other upside of this philosophy is, if teams play hard ball and dont sell players to europe for cheap they get more money and the expensive aussie recruit is more likely to get playing time since the club invested Mooy was a much better player because of Europe and his time at Huddersfield, Brighton and now Celtic.

So, I am going to watch the St.Pauli game with Irvine and Metcalfe tonight V Gruether Furth. If St Pauli win it is a club record. Hoping either Irvine or metcalf are on the score sheet again. They are flying the Aussie flag in 2. Bundesliga
I am using Bet356 miniature screen. Does anyone have any other ideas/options on a way to watch 2 Bundesliga from Oz?
Also really hoping that Wiesbaden get promoted so Iredale can mix it in 2 Bundisliga along with Metcalf and Irvine.

I do recall a pretty rare occasion that the late Bundesliga 2 game Saturdays sneaks into the BEIN program. Usually on delay but still.

I use smart STB app for smart tv and get basically every European game down to 2nd or 3rd divisions.
Literally every European league or sport is on there. Every game with any Aussies is always on three.
Most south American and Asian leagues too (the good ones)
I pay 10 euros a month

+xDevlin seems to have been on the bench a lot recently. Missed two games ejth injury then returned from bench the next two. Started vs Celtic midweek and bench today. I felt the same but was surprised he had a 9 game starting run at some point.

Poor cover in box to allow Mooy to score. Rowles with a miss charge out this time around. He generally gets them so right and they disrupt attacks nicely. Mooy's form though.

Need to be careful. Dangerously losing it up middle playing out. We've used 3 subs while Uzbekistan have used just 1.

Lost 5-4 in the shootout. Uzbeks better. Like all Australian teams at all levels our first touch, ability to retain the ball under pressure and creativity in the final third is appalling.

+xThe one important thing the Scottish Premiership has that we don’t, is a huge amount of games. These Aussie boys are literally playing more than double the amount of matches per season than they were in the A-League. Atkinson has played way less football joining Hearts. The Scotland move has not been good for either his playing style or confidence.

Not the greatest overall team performance but sometimes you need to win ugly. if Pauli keep this winning streak up they could secure the playoff position for a shot at Bundesliga promotion. Would be awesome for our Aussie Lads.

D'agostino played 59 mins, yazbek 72 and stensness the full match.
Lots of positive comments on twitter about yazbek in particular.
Translated:
"I think Yazbek was very good in his first match as well. Lots of good tackles" "Yazbek is very promising" "Yazbek puts in a huge effort!" "I think I've hit the spot with Yazbek"
