West Ham score in the last min of added time to seal their place in the final. AZ out on their feet.

So Peupion joins a list of under 20 players that have made their debuts for top 5 league clubs within the space of 12 months. Volpato AS Roma Mo Toure Reims Peupion Brighton Very encouraging for the future.

Yes exactly, throw in Kuol, Irankunda & Bos all 20 or younger & it's very exciting, 2026 WC could be very very interesting.

+x+xnot a good look that they conceded two goals after he came on And they none were of he's fault either, strange take... it doesnt really matter. from a managers point of view when you make substitutions and your team concedes immediately afterwards its never a good look, but im not suggesting that his brighton career is over haha

A smart manager would know that with Peupion being nowhere near the play in both goals that his substitution on would have nothing to do with how it unfolded.

the fact he gave him 14 mins instead of 3, shows he wanted him to experience top level football. A test for next season as he will need to rely on the younger guys with extra european fixtures next year. This is a good thing.
They didn't concede because of Cameron, he took a defender off and brought on a midfielder and pushed forward then they got killed on counter twice. Some fucking idiots on here sometimes.

I have a soft spot for them going back to mooysi days. Like them to make Europe but not at LFC’s expense :) yep those 2 goals on the counter and not even his side lol

This is a great story all round.

As someone listed above its encouraging to see young Aussie players playing in the top 5 leagues..... I wish there were more than a handfull but its an improvement at least.

You can blame Pep for that, you can see from Pep's Barca side in 2011 & now with his Man City, it's all about possession. Barca played Tika Taka football with one touch football of Messi, Xavi & iniesta & now Man City does the possession with precision KDB, Skill Silva & strength & pace Haarland. Australia has never been renown for players with high technical skill with killer 1st touches, hence we've been behind the black ball since 2011 in producing quality footballers.

Cruyeff started that at La Massia and Pep took VERY GOOD notes :) I agree technical on the ball possession is required to play ALL positions in today's fast transitioning systems however Premier League (even before in the old first division), Italian and German players were ALWAYS very technical across the park... Possession is just that, "possession", a taught system. You'd remember pre Tika-taka players like Berbatov, Henry, Zizou, Ronaldo (the original). Ronaldinho....... Holy shit these guys caressed the football like it was a woman..... Im smiling just typing the names :) Your Haaland example is a good divergence though mate... you must admit he is not dissimilar to a Zlatan in that he can create his own space and that is his benefit to the structure as opposed to raw technique? Weve ALWAYS been behind the black ball is what Im getting too, its just good that finally some players are breaking through.

yep possesion is possesion just has varied how its applied/or seen over the times of change incl due to fitness levels. Back in the english Div 1 days the keeper wasn't as effective to today obviously but imo when casting my mind back of the glory LFC days from back to middle to front their flow of play was immense of keeping for those times, counter football many times played out like today as well. Rushy banged in heaps from running wide back cross's or direct through balls from defensive situations. Yes I know robbos will say something to the above lol..... The Italians yes MSC no where near as direct as many english teams applied slow build ups from the back, even sitting deep as done by many teams today as well. As mentioned the big change is fitness levels compared to the passed. Germans were methodical machines as well. I just hope more and more influence of todays game flows down to the championship and further for they still are not near epl levels yet alot of skill obviously. As for here, we live in hope, I see alot of skilful young uns for many years, the NST will help giving them the chance to prosper and have a stage. Much needed. Rapted for Peupion - hope he keeps on the up for looking like were gonna lose Souttar with the Foxs going down by the look of it.

LFC, yes you can see them coming thru, there are some very exciting players coming thru, it's very exciting. Very true the NST will give more kids the opportunity away from A-league coaches too scared to give the young ones a go, yes looking at Steve Corica.

Yes Mister Cruyff is probably the greatest ambassador for the beautiful game. Not many great players become great coaches, he did & not only was he a great coach, he was a revolutionist coach. Look at Pep playing John Stones in the midfield, while playing centre back, never seen a centre back popping up on the left wing during normal play. Yes we've had some great players in the history of football, but with Barca, every player whether you were Messi or the centre back or left back, you had very technical brilliant players while the Germans were technically efficient. Look at Modric to Kroos.

Circati got the 90 mins in a 2-1 win for Parma against Venezia. Last game of the season. The win secured 4th spot which means they get the week off in the playoff race.
