Silly me of course Peupion is away with the Olyroos. EFL Cup tonight with Cheltenham on. JRB must have a knock as he's not featured the last two games. Iredale starting.

Theres a Keepup article on Italiano. He was used as a RB in a friendly v Bremen. It was during the intl break and a squad with 6 u23 players. Interesting positional switch. You wonder if Gladbach were paying attention to the Maurice Revello tournament.

I hope he can finally get out of there and get a permanent deal at a Liga 3 team and play every week.

There's a role in the NT for him there if he can get game time.

I get the impression he isn't progressing much at Gladbach. If he could though!

Went at around 17. Injuries, Covid and silly club situations made it tricky for him at develop and advance. He's got to get out of there. Swiss league would be alright. He's not good enough for Bundesliga 2.

Franco Lino is the exception.

Still got Gersbach, Smith, Davidson, Iredale for emergencies and these are seasoned professionals. Bos, Farrell and Mauragis the next gen. Rowles in emergencies.

It's so hard to judge how that translates and I'm not too familiar with Buli 2 so not well placed to say like you are. What does he need to develop to lift his standard? I think the Swiss league would be a good move.

I’d way rather spend my career as a A-league journeyman than playing 3rd division youth football in Germany. How could you explain that to your kids?

Case by case of course though.

Irvine has torn a ligament in his foot from that incident in the Mexico friendly. St Pauli haven't given a timeframe on his return. Astroturf!

Any chance Metcalfe will move central with Irvine out? Looked like a square peg in a round hole so far as a winger this season imo. Feels like a bit of a Phil Jones where he is very good generally so is used to fill weak spots but it makes him look bad.

Goodwin scores a goal first game back. As much as I like Sammy Silvera, Goodwin is first choice left winger for the Roos. Best player in the A league last season by a mile!

Front 3 of Goodwin, Duke & Boyle.

Even now after watching all Socceroos games i still don't know what is the strength of Conor Metcalfe. Just a waste of space for the national team.
I can see McGree, Irvine, Boyle, Mabil, Borrello , Goodwin are important but Metcalfe has been poor.
