Why are we arguing about it. The fact is we have two young guys under the age of 20 starting in leagues that previously only our guys in their prime were playing in is a pretty big deal.

Garang will face better opponents even if his team gets relegated
He anyway plays a different position
half of our players who have played in the eredivisie have nailed a starting spot at a higher level. Sometimes only for a season but still…

+x+x+x+xScreamer Xg was .03 Toure is arguably playing at the highest level of any striker since he starts Do you mean the level Australian strikers play at? Toure starting in Ligue 2 outweighs Iredale's current bench cameos in Bundesliga 2. The German second tier is easily bigger in regards of attendance, names and facilities but in football quality I'm sure Ligue 2 is always getting better with a lot of good academy graduates. Playing 30 plus scoring 10 or more a season is great in the development stage. +xScreamer Xg was .03 Toure is arguably playing at the highest level of any striker since he starts Isn't it kuol because his starting in the dutch first division? Starting for Paris > starting for Volendam Eredivisie is 5th best league in Europe. French Ligue 2 not even in top 25

+x+xFrancois on the bench again for Fulham. Great to see he's at least making the Matchday squad, after being out for so long. It's so odd. Totally disappeared and also not really given much of a chance in Croatia and now on the EPL bench. Clearly he's impressing someone. I think we may see him included in the next squad with Irvine out. Luongo will be replaced Irvine. Francois I saw him played for Oz U23 Asian cup 2022 that game against Saudi Arabia he was awful turnovers the ball a countless time.

Luongo should be the one to be brought in - consistently one of the best players in the team, week in week out & Ipswich are currently flying in the Championship. He's playing at the highest level of our current crop of midfielders.

I found Francois in the majority of game time really risky. It was only in a few closing stages where got some crucial tackles in.

https://youtu.be/vafNMkXFBrM?si=WLLKDC8eREwEtkMbThat's the good pass by Luongo with his left foot people were going on about. Good ball but I was imagining something like off the outside out his boot threading the needle. Anyway, a recall is due.

Interesting thing with Ipswich is although they are flying now, on the xG measure which takes into account overall scoring opportunities, theyre 8th inf the championship. ATM they are nailing minimal opportunities and over the course of a season, I'd expect them to fall away. Can't have a 46 week purple patch, especially in that league.

I also can't see many of our younger midfielders ever eclipsing Luongo's peak and his form and experience now offers a lot that we may not get from selecting others in that position.

I just think that we have so much depth at CM, that we should be using this opportunity to bring through the younger guys e.g. Alex Robertson, who we couldn’t even fit in the previous squad due to how stacked we are in that position.
I love Luongo for what he’s done in the past, but we have quality younger players in that area of the park and personally I’d like us to move on from his age group at CM.

Robertson from D2? We talking about facing a full strength England at Wembley here. Without Irvine and Mooy we're gonna need the experience of Luongo for one of the midfielder. This game will be broadcasted for most part of the world you don't want it to be ugly one sided match. I remember 2013 FIFA Day Osiek's Socceroos team got trashed 6-0 by France. England at home is one of the toughest test we will face till the next world cup.

Things looking up with attacking options finding game time over seas. Kuol toure iredale and mabil all possible additions to upcoming friendlies with also the emergence of silvera and dagostino. Hopefully this signals the end of maclaren

We are so outclassed by England across the park that an absolute thrashing would not surprise me at all. Lord, imagine Bellingham let loose on our second and third tier midfield. It could become very, very ugly, very quickly.

Interesting that Kuol is playing on the left side of a front three. I alway's thought his best position was central or right. It makes sense to have him cut in on his preferred right foot and that goal showed why.

I just don't think some of our younger midfielders will ever eclipse Luongo's then and even now. Robertson is a great young prospect however. Still, Holger France Brazil aside we have a way of doing well against good teams.
Baccus has done little wrong but I just feel his ceiling is nearly reached and there needs to be a lot more dominance in defence and especially attack from his side.

Lower Dutch first division is pretty dire but even the lower French first tier sucks a lot of the time. Yet seeing Segecic score in the second Dutch division is a positive. In the end minutes matter and leagues have their strong and weak sides.

Hilarious. By no means did I or many think Irvine would be replaced by Metcalfe and then he gets chosen and scores after 4min. Apparently a corner cleared and he shoots through a small gap.

Woah what a hit. It read like some bouncy corner deflection on the goal box line. So glad.

Jesus christ to think he even thought of hitting it from there but that Mexico shot that lead to the corner for the first goal shows he can go from distance.
